Abstract

Fewer students cooperate at the time of learning. That is indicated by the condition of learning in the classroom. The response of students who aren’t entirely at the time given task. The participants are less active, application of cooperative Number Head Together mode and this type is expected to improved student cooperation. The research aims to improve cooperation between students and mathematics learning to use cooperative learning type Number Head together mode. This research is an action research class consisting of two cycles. The subject of the research is VII A grade student of 1st semester of the academic year 2016/2017 at SMP Negeri 13 Yogyakarta. The object of this research is the efforts to improve students collaboration in learning mathematics. Technic to collecting data is observation and interview. The instrument of the research is the collaboration students observation sheet. Teacher interview activity sheet, and student interview sheet. The category to succeed in the research is marked with increasing approximately the percentage of students teamwork minimal 61%. The result of the research is shown by cooperative learning mode we called if type Number Head Together mode. It can increase the student's teamwork in a mathematic lesson in VII A class. We can see from the result of the average percentage who shows that the increase in each cycle. The first cycle is 41,01%, enough to achieve this criteria and the second cycle is 65,05 % it achieves good criteria.

Abstract

Lacking students actively in the learning process will affect the student learning outcomes, especially in mathematics. Using the Synthetic Analytic Approach is expected to increase students' attractiveness towards mathematics learning to accomplish mathematics problems. Results of mathematics learning students' class XI Social Sciences (IPS) MAN 1 Garut are still low because no students who meet the Minimum Completeness Criteria (MCC) have been determined school. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning using Synthetic Analytic Approach of mathematics learning outcomes at Eleven Grade Student of State Islamic Senior high School (MAN) 1 Garut even semester in the Academic year 2016/2017 on the subject of Peluang. This study's population were all students of class eleven grade Student of MAN 1 Garut even semester in 2016/2017. The sample's selection was made using Random Sampling of the class, the class taking the sample by lottery. The sample is a class XI IPS 5 as class Experiment and class XI IPS 4 as class Control. The data collection method used is the method of documentation and testing. The instrument used in mathematics learning outcomes test. The Analyzing of the data in this hypothesis is a t-test.  This research on the significance level of 5% and dk = 66 indicates that: (1) There are differences in the mathematics learning outcomes that use the Synthetic Analytic Approach and the use of Expository Approach. It can be seen that  is bigger than  = . (2) mathematics learning using the Synthetic Analytic Approach is more effective than the use of the Expository Approach. It can be seen that  is bigger than  = .

Abstract

The Learning model applied in SMP Unggulan ‘Aisyiyah Bantul featured still tends to be teacher’s centered and makes students become passive in the process of learning so that student learning outcomes are still low. Jigsaw is one of many kinds of teaching and learning model which provides opportunities to the students to be actively involved in the class activity. The objectives of this research are (1) to know the diversities in the math learning marks of the eighth-grade students which are taught using the conventional learning model in the odd semester of SMP Unggulan ‘Aisyiyah Bantul in the academic year of 2016/2017, (2) to know the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model type Jigsaw towards the conventional learning model to the eighth-grade students in the odd semester of SMP Unggulan ‘Aisyiyah Bantul in the academic year of 2016/2017. This research used the quantitative research method. The population of the research was the eighth-grade students in the odd semester of SMP Unggulan ‘Aisyiyah Bantul in the academic years of 2016/2017. To obtain the sample, this research used the random sampling technique. As the sample, this research managed the VIII B class as the Experiment Class and VIII A as the Controlled Class. A test was applied for the data collecting technique of this research. To calculate the instrument validity and reliability, this research used the product-moment correlation and the Alpha formula. The data analyzing technique of this research are the t-test, the normality test used the Chi-Quadrate formula, and the homogeneity test used the Bartlett test. Based on the research findings at the 5% significance level and a degree of freedom of 39, thus the accumulations are (1) ttable= 1,6835 and tcount = 2,2470. It collected tcount>ttable so H0 is rejected. Henceforward, there are diversities in the math learning marks of the students who were taught using the cooperative learning model type Jigsaw towards those which were taught using the conventional learning model. (2) ttable= 1,6835 and tcount= 2,2470, collected tcount>ttableso H0 is rejected. To put it briefly, the cooperative learning model type Jigsaw is more effective than the conventional learning model towards math learning marks.
