Abstract

Road construction requires good subgrade to put down parts of road pavement that it put downabove subgrade. However, soil can make problem if it has bad characteristic and loss, forexample high plasticity, low shear strenght, compression or volume change and large potensial ofswelling-shrinking. To overcome these, it is needed an improvement of soil that is called with soilstabilization use additive and one of them use TX 300 that come from America.Results of laboratory research show stabilization materials use TX 300 as stabilizing agent canimprove the physical and mechanical properties of soft clay soil. On physical test such as specificgravity and plasticity index, it decreased after stabilization. While the mechanical testing, usage ofTX 300 is effective enough in increasing the bearing capacity of soft clay soil. From the testresults of laboratory’s CBR, soil that has been stabilized with a mixture of the TX 300 can be usedas a subgrade for road construction due to CBR’s value ≥ 6 %.

Abstract

Salah satu alternatif bahan tambah yang digunakan untuk stabilisasi adalah menggunakan sistemsoil cement, dimana yang digunakan untuk bahan stabilisasi adalah clean set cement. Stabilisasitanah dengan menggunakan sampel tanah gambut (peat) di Propinsi Lampung dengan bahanclean set cement dilakukan dengan studi penyelidikan di laboratorium dengan pengujian beratjenis, pengujian batas atterberg, pengujian kepadatan, pengujian permeabilitas untuk mengetahuinaiknya kekuatan tanah gambut sebagai lapisan tanah dasar. Penelitian yang dilakukan denganmenggunakan 3 macam campuran: (a) Tanah gambut + 4% clean set cement, (b) Tanah gambut +8% clean set cement dan (c) Tanah gambut + 12% clean set cement. Hasil penelitianlaboratorium mekanika tanah menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan maksimum daya dukung tanahterdapat pada campuran tanah gambut ditambah 12% clean set cement dengan 14 hari waktupemeraman (delay time). Peningkatan kekuatan tanah dapat dilihat dari hasil pemadatan tanahyang semula memiliki kadar air optimum sebesar 62% turun menjadi 55,8%, berat isi keringtanah meningkat dari semula sebesar 0,676 gr/cm3 naik menjadi 0,770 gr/cm3, dan koefisienpermeabilitas yang semula 6,031 x 10-5 cm/detik turun menjadi 0,883x10-5 cm/detik. Peningkatankekuatan tanah tersebut disebabkan terjadinya pengikatan antara butiran-butiran tanah olehcampuran clean set cement dan lamanya waktu pengikatan dengan pemeraman. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa tanah akan terus meningkat kestabilannya sampai pada batas optimumapabila kadar clean set cement ditambah atau dipakai clean set cement seri CS 20 (untuk tanahorganik tinggi dan gambut) dan waktu pemeramannya lebih lama.

Abstract

There are lot of benefits can be obtained from lime, as mixture or filler, even it can be use as soilstabilization agent that is for clay stability. The experiment’s purpose is to know swelling andswelling pressure of clay when the addiction of lime applied. Test conducted in three phases, (1).physical test for clay and soil - lime mixture; (2). compaction test with modified proctor, and (3).swelling and swelling pressure test with load multiple of 17,67 kg. The soil sample is clay broughtfrom Gumbib Village at West Lampung and mixed with lime at 5%, 10%, and 15%. The resulttest that, the soil sample is classified in soft clay category (AASHTO and Unified). Another resultobtained that the usage of lime with certain procentage very effect to swelling and swellingpressure of clay. The addiction of lime applied, the swelling and swelling pressure of clay isdecreased. So it can be concluded that lime can be used as clay stabilizer.

Abstract

Analysis of the data in this study is focused on a comparison of the results of direct testingdeflection field with SAP 2000 analysis and manual calculation of loading field and standard(RSNI T-02-2005) with a maximum deflection limit bridge.Based on the results obtained by calculation of loading field: percentage reduction of deflectiontest results without the GFRP reinforcement compared to after given the GFRP reinforcement ondirect testing field, SAP 2000 analysis, and manual calculation respectively, they are obtained4.934 %, 0.7097%, and -0,6804 %. Based on the results of the calculation deflection of theloading standard: percentage reduction of deflection test results without the GFRP reinforcementcompared to after given the GFRP reinforcement on SAP 2000 analysis and manual calculationrespectively, they are obtained 2,0212 % and -0.17557 %. The Values of deflection are calculatedstill below 18.75 cm as deflection limit L/240.

Clay And Silt Soil Is A Kind Of Soil That Has A Bad Soil Bearing Capacity. One Of SoilImprovements That We Can Do Is Use A Mixture Of Hydrated Lime. In Addition To MoreEconomical Reason, It Also Has Good Ability In The Soil Stabilization With Fine Grain Soil.The Clay Soil Sample Is A Type Of High Plasticity Clay That Taken From Rawa Sragi- Jabung-East Lampung District And Then The Silt Soil Sample Is Taken From Yosumulyo-East Metro-Metro City. Based On Previous Experiments, That Soil Is Included In Soft Clay And HighPlasticity Category Which Has High Plasticity Index Value >11%. Based On Unified SoilClasification (Uscs), Clay Belong To Cl Category, While Silt Soil Belong To Cl-Ml Category. InModified Proctor Compact Test Result, Adding Hydrated lime Prove To Reduce Maximum DensityValue (Γd), And For Optimum Water Content (Ω opt ) Having An Increaces But Not Significant. InUnconfined Compressive Strength Test, Clay And Silt Soil With Variation Of Curing Time AndSoaked Condition, Soil With Hydrated Lime Mixtured With Modified Proctor Compacted, ForClay Soil, It Get Qu Optimum Value Increased When It Has 15% Hydrated Lime Content, 28 DaysOf Curing Time, It Get 0,3636 Kg/Cm2. For Silt Soil Qu Optimum Value Inscreased When It Has15% Hydrated Lime Content And 28 Days Of Curing Time, It Get 0,3411 Kg/Cm2. Abstract

This research aims to determine the compressive strength and shear strength on clay which issubstituted with a mixture of sand variations. Soil tested in this study is derived from clay ofBelimbing Sari Village, Jabung District, East Lampung. This is done because if you set up astructure on top of the clay will cause some problems, among others, the small value ofcompressive strength and shear strength of the soil.To determine the effect of mixing clay with sand on the compressive strength and shear strength, itis done by varying the mixing of sand by 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%. From the test results it is obtainedthat the increase in shear strength to a maximum of 0.7534 kg / cm2 and a decrease in cohesionvalue of 0.10 kg / cm2 at mixing the sand as much as 40%. In the compressive strength reaches amaximum value at 30% of the mixing done 4 variation is equal to 0.4996 kg / cm3. The greater thelevel of sand were added then the lesser the value of the soil cohesion, friction angle and thecompressive strength will increase although the maximum compressive strength value in mixing30% sand.Keywords : Clay, Sand, Soil Compressive Strength, Soil Strength Press

Abstract

The Clay has a low shear force properties, large density, small permeability coefficient and has alow bearing capacity. To increase the bearing capacity of the clay can be used a mixture of sand.In this study, the test is done by using the Direct Shear test, which will be a reference in relation ofliquid limit and plasticity index to the value of cohesion (c) of each soil sample that has beensubstituted with sand.Soil samples used an original soil samples and disturbed soil of clay that comes from threelocations: the area Margakaya Jati Agung South Lampung, Palputih Karang Anyar SouthLampung , and Belimbing Sari Jabung East Lampung. Clay will be mixed with sand No.40 sieve(0.43 mm) in accordance with the required percentage of the variation in sand content of 0%, 5%,10%, and 15%.Based on AASHTO classification system, the three of soil include to the class of ordinary clay soilup to bad as subgrade material. The addition of sand mixture into three types of clay causingdecreased shear strength. The greater the addition of sand content, then the value of cohesion (c),liquid limit and plasticity index of the soil will decrease and shear angle will increase.Keywords : shear strength, Atterberg limits, Clay, Sand .

Abstract

Land is the basis of a pavement structure. Best part of the land to construct a road construction is land that has a high density value. To determine the density of a soil, CBR testing is needed. CBR testing itself is divided into 2, namely field CBR and laboratory CBR. Location taken was between Padang Tambak Liwa - Liwa City Limits. This research will be conducted to find out how much influence the correlation of Field CBR values and Laboratory CBR on the road. In this study researchers will conduct Water Content Test, Filter Analysis, Atterberg Limits, Plastic Limit Test, Specific Gravity, Standard Soil Compaction, laboratory CBR Test, which uses disturbed subgrade from Padang Tambak Liwa - Liwa City Limits and then obtained a graph of the CBR laboratory test data results then compared with the existing field CBR graph. In the correlation of the value of the CBR field test and the laboratory CBR test there are samples that have an average deviation value below 5%. As for STA 227 + 500, STA 230 + 500, STA 233 + 000 there were different results of deviations from 26 samples, there were 3 samples that were above 5% deviation. This can be caused by uneven soil conditions, differences in precision of laboratory equipment with the tools used in the field, different forms of penetration characters in CBR testing.

Abstract

The problem of density level and bearing capacity of soil is one of things that really need toconsidered in the planning and construction work of a civilian building . This is because the landin question serves as a medium that holds the load or the action of a construction that is built on it. Stabilization using sand material is one way to meet the needs of the required strength . Changesin weather and temperature in the field are factors that makes the soil unstable .The type of soil is organic clay stabilized from the Gedong Pasir village, Jabung District, EastLampung District. This research was conducted by using a mixture of sand with variations mixtureof 5 %, 10 % and 15 %. After the CBR testing, Density, Atterberg Limits and Specific Gravity foreach sample.The more variations of a mixture of sand were added resulting in declining water levels that wouldmake the value of the soil carrying capacity increases, the value of density and plastic limitincreased, while the value of the liquid limit and plasticity index decrease.Keywords: sand, organic clay, bearing capacity

Abstract

Along with the times, human need a better means and facilities. This make human have no choicebut to build a building or civil structure upon improper area, for example, build it on clay area.The clay is a cohesive soil which often undergoing a swelling-shrinking event in its subgrade. So,it needed to to carried out the stabilization, one of which is using ISS 2500, and research of liquidlimit and plasticity index to know about their relationship with its cohesion in-depth study.Thesample was taken from Margakaya village and Palputih village, District of Jati Agung, SouthLampung and Blimbing Sari village, District of Jabung, East Lampung. The soil tested at originalcondition and mixed by ISS2500 with three variation of mixture, that is at 0,6 ml, 0,9 ml, and 1,2ml. Mixing is conducted based on optimum moisture content of each kind of soil. Mechanicaltesting which is unconfined compressive test and direct shear test, using three sample for everysoil and every mixture variation.Test result show that the more volume of solution added into soil1, soil 2 and soil 3, then it will increase value of soil cohesion (c), maximum stress (qu). Mixing ofthe ISS 2500 resulted liquid limit (LL) of clay be between 42% - 47% .Keywords: cohesion, direct shear test, liquid limit, plasticity index, unconfined compressive test
