Abstract

Status gizi ditentukan berdasarkan Z score berat badan menurut umur. Malnutrition is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children under five years of age in developing countries. Malnutrition significantly increases the risk of infant and child death. Although the incidence of malnutrition in Yogyakarta lower than other provinces in Indonesia, the prevalence of severe malnutrition of children under five years of age was 1.14%. the objective of this study were to identify and determine the risk factors for malnutrition in children under the five years of age in Kasihan 1, Bantul District. Case control design was conducted among 54 children under the age of five with malnutrition (z score <-2 Deviation Standart) and 54 comparison children from Kasihan 1. The data were collected using structured questionnaire. The children’s weight and length were measured using standardized and calibrated device. Nutrition state classified using Z score (weight for age) Anthropometry WHO software version 2011. The protective factors for malnutrition were high maternal education (OR = 0.4 ; 95% CI = 0.19 - 0.79), birth space more than 60 months (OR = 0.3; 95% CI = 0.11- 0.90), normal birth weight (OR = 0.2; 95% CI = 0.10 - 0.60), and no history of chronic disease (OR = 0.3; 95% CI = 0.14 - 0.80). There are no relationship between malnutrition with maternal age, parity, paternal education, income, history of breastfeeding, smoking member of family and measles immunization.

Abstract

Pregnant women and infants were a vulnerable group during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research aimed to determine anemia in pregnancy and Low Birth Weight (LBW) before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and analyze their associated factors. This was a cross-sectional study used secondary data from maternal and child health records in Kalijambe Public health center, Sragen. A total of 1169 birth records from the period of 2019-2020 were collected. The chi-square and logistic regression were used to analyze the differences and significant associated factors. The prevalence of anemia in pregnancy increased from 38.33% in 2019 to 49.21% in 2020 (p=0.013). However, the LBW proportion decreased from 7.26% in 2019 to 6.02% in 2020 (p=0.415). Mother who suffered from chronic energy deficiency marked by Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) < 23.5 cm was higher risk of anemia (aOR 1.86;95%CI 1.13-3.08). Considering the gestational age when the hemoglobin (Hb) test, anemia was more likely to be found at the second (aOR 2.59;95%CI 1.37-4.86) and third trimester (aOR 6.97;95%CI 3.98-12.20). High-risk pregnancy had higher odds of LBW (aOR 8.57;95%CI 1.65-44.37), while anemia showed no effect on LBW (aOR 1.80;95% CI 0.34-9.45). These results were adjusted for mothers’ age, parity, abortus, infection during pregnancy, high-risk pregnancy, MUAC, preterm birth, and gestational age. COVID-19 pandemic increased the prevalence of anemia in pregnancy but had no impact on LBW. Several factors for anemia and LBW were significantly associated. This finding suggests the need for early risk detection and routine, standardized, and comprehensive antenatal care.

Abstract

Marker of stress in human could be seen by increased level of cortisol in the blood. The higher level of stress, the higher cortisol level in the blood. Smoking would accelerate the release of endorphin in the central nervous system which causes a sense of happy and then stress trigger will be reduced. According to Sholeh in 2001, tahajud could reduce the level of cortisol in the human body. This study was done to understand the relationship between tahajud and smoking among students in Medical Faculty of Islamic Indonesian University (FK U/1). This was a non experimental cross sectional study. The sample in this study were students of FK U/1 in academic semester year 2010/2011. Sampling was conducted by cluster random sampling technique and sample size were 100 students. The p value was obtainedsignificant(p<0,01) that tahajud has a relationship with smoking behavior between femalo respondens, while in male repondens were not. The conclusion showed that there is a relationship between tahajud and smoking in female student.

Abstract

Stressors from school and inappropriate friendships could lead to depression among teenagers, and possibly to attempts at suicide if not treated properly. To meet this need, there is a peer counsellor service, which is an extracurricular activity at school, called the Centre for Youth Information and Counseling / Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja (PIK-R) Exalta. However, only a few students have used this service. This was due to a situational barrier that happened in direct counselling. This study aimed to detect mild depression and evaluate the implementation of the EmosiAn application (app) in handling mild depression among students. This study used secondary data from Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Pengabdian Masyarakat (PKM-M)/ Student Creativity Program-Community Services conducted from Augustus to October 2020 at MAN 1 Yogyakarta. A total of 126 students voluntarily filled out the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and 47 (37.3%) showed mild depression. Among 27 students and 5 peer counsellors then agreed to participate. The EmosiAn app was designed based on their problems, and had two interfaces for the administrator (peer counsellor) and the user (student). The app contained a diagnosis of depression using PHQ-9, daily journal, chat and reading the relevant articles. Before using the app, both peer counsellors and students attended zoom-online training. There was an increase in peer counsellors' knowledge (p=0.000) and students (p= 0.002) before and after the webinar. All participants could use the EmosiAn app and felt its benefits after two weeks of implementation. There were 40% of students who experienced a reduction of their depression level. Problems encountered during its usage could be resolved by fixing and refining the app. EmosiAn is a user-friendly application used by PIK-R Exalta to detect and care for students with mild depression. Further development is needed for wider used in the future.
