Abstract

This experimental aimed to know the effectivity of problem posing model in terms of students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics. The population in this study were all students of VII grade SMP Xaverius Kotabumi in academic year 2018/2019 which were distributed into four classes. The sample of this study were all students of class VII A and VII B selected by using cluster random sampling technique. This research used pretest posttest control group design. The research data was obtained by the test of students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. The analysis data of this research data used t test and propotion test. The analysis of proportion test showed that an increase in students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics is not more than 60% of the number of students participating in problem posing. Based on the results and discussion of this research, it was concluded problem posing model was not effective in terms of students’conceptual understanding of mathematics.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk me­ngetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran problem posing ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Xaverius Kotabumi tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 yang terdistribusi dalam empat kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII A dan VII B yang dipilih melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji t dan uji proporsi. Analisis uji proporsi menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis tidak lebih dari 60% jumlah siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran problem posing. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem posing tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kata kunci: efektivitas, pemahaman konsep matematis, problem posing
