The research was aimed to describe the practicality, effectiveness, and effect size of discovery learning model in improving the ability of the fluent thinking of electrolyte and non electrolyte solution topics. This research used poor experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample of the research was X.3 class of SMAN 6 Metro as the experimental class by cluster random sampling. Based on the results showed that the practicality and the effectiveness of discovery learning model had a high criteria, n-gain average in the ability of the students fluent thinking was 0.69 and effect size was 0.97. This research concluded that discovery learning model practic, effective, and big effect size in order to improve the ability of the fluent thinking.in improving the ability of the fluent thinking on electrolyte and non electrolyte topics.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kepraktisan, keefektivan, dan ukuran pengaruh model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir lancar pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode poor experimental dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X.3 SMAN 6 Metro sebagai kelas eksperimen, yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepraktisan dan keefektivan model discovery learning memiliki kriteria tinggi, nilai rata-rata n-gainkemampuan berpikir lancar siswa sebesar 0,69 dan ukuran pengaruh sebesar 0,97. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah model discovery learning praktis, efektif, dan memiliki pengaruh yang besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir lancar pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.
