Abstract

The aim of this research described effective-ness of problem solving model in improving students' ability to ask and answer the questions on hydrolysis salt topic. Samples were students of the 11th grade of IPA4 as an experimental class and 11th grade of IPA6 as a control class. This research used quasy experiment method with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The results showed that the average value of n-Gain students in the experimental class is higher than the control class. The hypothesis was tested by using t test on n-Gain data. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that problem solving model was effective in improving students' ability to asking and answering questions on hydrolysis salt topic.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model problem solving dalam meningkatkan ke-mampuan siswa bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan pada materi garam hidrolisis. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai n-Gain siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Hipotesis diuji dengan menganalisis data n-Gain menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis dapat disimpulkan bahwa model problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan pada materi garam hidrolisis.Kata Kunci : bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan, hidrolisis garam, model problem solving

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of NHT learning model to increase the students concept in the chemical bonds topic. This research used quasi experiment method with non-equivalent (pretest-posttest) control group design. Population of this research was students of the 10th grade in SMA Tri Sukses Natar on 2012/2013 academic year. This research used two classes as sample where they were taken by using purposive sampling. The results showed that the average of n-Gain of students concept in experimental and control class were 0.58 and 0.49, respectively. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, NHT learning model was effective to increase students concept in the chemical bonds topic.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran NHT dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa materi ikatan kimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen non equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Tri Sukses Natar tahun ajaran 2012 /2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 kelas sebagai sampel dimana sampel tersebut ditentukan menggunakan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata n-Gain penguasaan konsep siswa untuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol masing-masing 0,58 dan 0,49. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa model NHT efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa ikatan kimia.Kata kunci: ikatan kimia, model pembelajaran NHT, penguasaan konsep siswa

Abstract

This research were intended to describe the practicality, effectivility, and effect size of problem solving model to improve fluency thinking abiltiy on Arrhenius acid base theory. This research used one group pretest postttest design in which the 11th grade of science-5, was choosen as sample based on cluster random sampling . The aspect of practicality was determined by lesson plan study implementation based on teacher observation and conspicuousness of model based on students response. The aspect of effectivi-lity was determined by average n-Gain of students`s concept mastery in exami-niation and student activity during the learning process. The aspect of effect size(r) was determined by mean of pretest and posttest in which r score was calculated by using Cohen`s formula. The result that problem solving model has high criteria of practicality and effectivility and large effect size to improve fluency thinking ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kepraktisan, keefektifan, dan ukuran pengaruh model problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir lancar siswa pada materi asam basa Arrhenius. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest posttest design dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling diperoleh sampel kelas XI IPA5. Aspek kepraktisan ditentukan dari keterlaksanaan RPP berdasarkan obser-vasi guru dan kemenarikan model berdasarkan respon siswa. Aspek keefektifan ditentukan dari rata-rata n-Gain hasil penguasaan konsep di awal dan akhir pem-belajaran dan aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Ukuran pengaruh(r) ditentukan dari rata-rata nilai pretes dan postes dengan nilai r dihitung meng-gunakan rumus cohen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model problem solving memiliki kepraktisan dan keefektivan sangat tinggi serta memiliki ukuran pengaruh besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir lancar siswa.Kata kunci :kepraktisan, keefektivitasan, problem solving, ukuran pengaruh

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the practicality, effectiveness, and effect size of discovery learning model to improve the ability of the students original thinking of solution electrolyte and non electrolyte topics. The research sample was X.2 class at SMAN 6 Metro which it was obtained by using cluster random sampling. This research used poor experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. Practicality was measured by implementation of discovery learning model and students response. Effectiveness was measured by basis of teacher ability, students activity, and the ability of the students original thinking used difference of two average test and effect size test. The result of this research shown that the practicality and effectivity of discovery learning model had high criteria, n-gain average was 0.70 and effect size was 0.98.Based on them, discovery learning model was practical, effective, and big effect size to improve the ability of the students original thinking of solution electrolyte and non electrolyte topics.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kepraktisan, keefektivan, dan ukuran pengaruh modeldiscovery learningdalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X.2 di SMAN 6 Metro yang diperoleh dengan menggunakancluster random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodepoor experimentaldenganone group pretest-posttest design. Kepraktisan ditentukan berdasarkan keterlaksanaan modeldiscovery learningdan respon siswa. Keefektivan ditentukan berdasarkan kemampuan guru, aktivitas siswa, dan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata dan uji ukuran pengaruh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepraktisan dan keefektivan modeldiscovery learningberkriteria tinggi, nilai rata-ratan-gain sebesar 0,70 dan ukuran pengaruh sebesar 0,98. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, modeldiscovery learningpraktis, efektif dan memiliki ukuran pengaruh yang besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir original siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.Kata kunci:discovery learning, elektrolit dan non elektrolit, kemampuan berpikir orisinil

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of a scientific approach in increasing original thinking ability on buffered solutions topic. This research population was all of students in the 11th grade of MIA at SMA Negeri 1 Bangunrejo for 2014/2015 academic year. This study used quasi experiment method with non equivalent control group design. The 11th grade of MIA2 and MIA3 were used as the sample classes of this research which were obtained by using purposive sampling technique. The result of this research showed that the average n-Gain of original thinking ability in the control class was 0.603 and in the experimental was class was 0.763. Based on t test the average of n-Gain both the research classes were different significantly. It could be concluded that learning by using scientific approach was effective in increasing original thinking ability on buffered solutions topic.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan ilmiah dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi larutan penyangga. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu seluruh kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Bangunrejo tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non equivalent control group. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan berpikir orisinil pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,603 dan eksperimen sebesar 0,763. Berdasarkan uji t nilai rata-rata n-Gain kedua kelas penelitian berbeda secara signifikan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil pada materi larutan penyangga.Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir orisinil, larutan penyangga, pendekatan ilmiah

Abstract

This study was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving model in increasing the ability of judging the credibility of a source on hydrolysis salt. Two classes to be sampled by purposive sampling were the 11th grade of IPA1 as an experimental class and the 11th grade of IPA3 as a control class. The method of this study was quasi experiment with non equivalent control group design. The results showed that the average n-Gain of students ability of judging the credibility of a source in the experimental class was higher than the control class. Based on statistical test, the average n-Gain showed significant differences. It was concluded that problem solving model effective to increase judging the credibility of a source ability on hydrolysis salt.Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan memutuskan sumber yang dapat dipercaya pada materi garam hidrolisis. Dua kelas penelitian yang dijadikan sampel yaitu kelas XI IPA 1 (kelas eksperimen) dan kelas XI IPA 3 (kelas kontrol) dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan siswa dalam memutuskan sumber yang dapat dipercaya pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji statistik terhadap rata-rata n-Gain menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa model problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan memutuskan sumber yang dapat dipercaya pada garam hidrolisis.Kata kunci: garam hidrolisis, memutuskan sumber dipercaya, problem solving

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the effectiveness of POE Model on buffer solution material in increasing students elaboration thinking ability. The research method was using quasi experiment with the non equivalent (pretest-posttest) control group design. By using purposive sampling technique, the samples of this research were the second grade science 1 and the second grade science 4 of SMA Negeri 15 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2015/2016. The result of the data showed that the score average n-Gain of experiment class was 0.64 and the control class was 0.28. Based on the average n-Gain of experiment and control class, it can be concluded that POE model was effective in increasing students elaboration thinking ability towards buffer solution material.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model POE dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir elaborasi siswa pada materi larutan penyangga. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen tipe non equivalent (pretest-posttest) control group design. Dengan menggunakan purposive sampling, kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 4 di SMA Negeri 15 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata nilai n-Gain kelas eksperimen yaitu 0,64 dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,28. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning to increase students organizing ability on electrolyte and non-electrolyte topic. Population in this research was all of students in the 10th grade of SMA Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung for 2014-2015 academic year. The 1st and 4th of the 10th grade were appointed as sample class by using purposive sampling. This research used quasi experimental method with non equivalent (pretest and postest) control-group design. The effectiveness of discovery learning was showed by the significant difference of the n-Gain in the control and experimental class. The results showed that the average n-Gain of organizing ability of control and experimental class were 0.43 and 0.53, respectively. Based on statistic analysis, discovery learning was effective to improve students organizing ability on electrolyte and non-electrolyte topic.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas discovery learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan organizing pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014. Kelas X1 dan X4 digunakan sebagai kelas sampel yang diambil menggunanakan purposive sampling. Metode pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent (Pretest and Postest) Control-Group Design. Efektivitas model pembelajaran discovery learning ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan organizing pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,43 dan 0,53.
