Abstract

One of the famous Moslem scholar is Khaled Abou El Fadl. He has studied of religious fatwas that recorded in council religious legal opinion. The main problem that this scholar investigates regarding religious fatwas on gender. Abou El Fadl offers methodology of how to interpret ther meaning of the law texts, it is hermeneutic. The characteristics of this kind of methodology is that there is closed relation text, context, author, and interpreter reader). So, the meaning of Islamic law texts can be classified into two categories, authoritarianism and authoritative meaning. Departing from this, according to Abou El Fadl to understand the meaning of Islamic law texts in this era should consider hermeneutics. Kata kunci : menjunjung otoritas teks dan membatasi otoritarianisme pembaca.

Abstract

Fazlur Rahman is one of an International Moselm scholar has paid attention to the Islamic thought reforming in moslem world. Rahman had concerned on the methodology of Islamic thought reform, and this concern can be understood from one of his works ( book) Islamic Methodology in History (Indonesian translation Membuka Pintu Ijtihad). This book tries to describe the development of four sources of Islamic thought Alquran, Sunnah, Ijtihad and Ijma’ evolutively and historically. According to Rahman as the founding of neomodernism in Islam that Moslem now need to deconstruct and reconstruct the historical heritages of Islam in all aspects. Kata kunci: metodologi, sejarah, pemikiran, dan pembaharuan

Abstract

Mutu pendidikan merupakan hal yang harus diperhatikan dan diupayakan untuk dicapai, sebab pendidikan akan menjadi sia-sia bila mutu proses dan lulusannya rendah. Lebih parah dan menyedihkan lagi jika out put pendidikannya menambah beban masyarakat, keluarga, dan negaranya. Masyarakat dan berbagai lembaga pendidikan Islam berkeinginan untuk menjadikan pendidikan Islam sebagai salah satu pendidikan alternatif. Pemikiran semacam ini memerlukan paradigma baru untuk meningkatkan kualitan pendidikannya, diperlukan penataan program pendidikan Islam mulai dari visi, misi, tujuan, kurikulum dan materi pembelajaran, strategi dan metode, manajemen dan kepemimpinan yang berkualitas, dana, dan dukungan pemerintah dan penerimaan masyarakat terhadap prodak pendidikan Islam.Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Islam yang mutu dan unggul

Abstract

Any kind of violence is not acceptable in any sort of values and rights, moreover if it occured in education circumstances. It is indeed against universal values and norms. Education is a medium and tool to internalize norms, good attitude and positive values into students personality. But it sometimes becomes dilematics when teachers find difficulties in doing the job, or when they deal with difficult students, should they use hard lead-to-violence way or soft way? This article found that no reason to use hard-violence way to deal with such problem. Teachers should use soft way to teach students to be pro-social with the spirit of nonviolence education. Doing so, education institutions (schools or higher educations) must provide standard operational procedure for teachers and provide a tools by which teachers can use to control any students activities that potentially leads to violence, verbally or phisically. In this way, law enforcement also takes an important part.

Abstract

The critical points towards traditional Islamic education is its inability to solve contemporary problems in modern life. Therefore, to deal with these problems, Islamic education institutions should rethink and redesign Islamic education model which is not only focused on normative values (traditional religious teaching), but also focused on empirical issues. It is urgent to develop ideal model of Islamic education, since the challenges resulted from change in human life that strongly driven by economics, sophisticated technology and science development are growing rapidly. This paper proposes Islamic education model design, which is based on some thoughts of contemporary Muslim scholars. The model is expected to give alternative idea about how to design and develop a future Islamic education system.

Abstract

Pendidikan dalam Islam merupakan sebuah rangkaian proses pemberdayaan manusia menuju taklif (kedewasaan), baik secara akal, mental maupun moral, untuk menjalankan fungsi kemanusiaan yang diemban, sebagai seorang hamba dihadapan Khaliq-nya dan sebagai "pemelihara" (khalifah) pada semesta (Tafsir,1994). Dengan demikian, fungsi utama pendidikan adalah rnernpersiapkan peserta didik (generasi penerus) dengan kemampuan dan keahlian (skill) yang diperlukan agar memiliki kemampuan dan kesiapan untuk terjun ke tengah masyarakat, sebagai tujuan akhir dari pendidikan.
