The use ofultrasound imaging (USG) techniques can be utilized in diagnosing and determining the etiology ofCKD. This study aims to determine the characteristics of ultrasound images in CKD patients atSanglah General Hospital. The study used a retrospective descriptive design with a cross-sectionalapproach, and sampling was done by total sampling technique. Data was taken based on the patient'smedical record for the period of January 2015-December 2015. Incomplete medical records andpatients with kidney abnormalities were excluded from this study. A total of 45 patients were eligiblefor this study. Most of the patients were men (64.4%), aged 50-59 years (33.3%) and classified as fifthgrade CKD (48.9%). In general, the images found were 73.3% normal kidney size, 85.6% increasedechogenicity, 81.1% had unclear cortex limits, 77.8% normal pelviocalyceal systems, and cysticperiods were found at 21.1% samples, basic kidney stones 16.7% samples and other mass in 2.2%samples. The description of ultrasound in CKD patients at Sanglah Hospital is in accordance with theprevious literature. Further analytical studies with consistent ultrasound operators may be possible toobtain more representative results. Keywords: Imaging, Kidney Disease, Sanglah General Hospital
