Abstract

The production of biogas from palm oil-mill effluent (POME) and activated sludge derived from fresh cow feces through a few stages of the reaction at a single digester inhibited the reaction of anaerobic fermentation. The development of the biogas production process using two stages digester can optimize the anaerobic fermentation reactions. The aims of this research was to know the fermentation time effect toward biogas production in two stage digester. The study was done in three stages, that are subtrate analysis, biogas production by using two stages digester, and data analysis. The study was done in three combinations of feedstock which were POME concentrations of 90, 80, and 70% and activated sludge concentrations of 10, 20, and 30%. A mixture of POME and activated sludge at 0.35 L/day for 40 days were fed into two stages digester. Combination POME of 90% and activated sludge of 10% was denoted 90LC:10LA, combination POME of 80% and activated sludge of 20% was denoted 80LC:20LA, and combination POME of 70% and activated sludge of 30% was denoted 70LC:30LA. The result showed the fermentation time gave significant effect toward biogás production in the second stage digester. All combinations showed the upward trend in the volume of biogás during fermentation. Combination 80LC:20LA showed the highest volume increases from 1st digester to 2nd digester, that was 121,29%. Fermentation time in 2nd digester for all combinations (90LC:10LA, 80LC:20LA, and 70LC:30LA) gave significant effects toward pH where pH increased for 40 days the fermentation time. The highest volume of biogas was reached when POME and activated sludge in combination 90LC:10LA. It was 11.35 L.ABSTRAKProduksi biogas dari limbah cair pabrik minyak kelapa sawit dan lumpur aktif yang berasal dari feses sapi segar melalui beberapa tahap reaksi pada satu digester menyebabkan terhambatnya reaksi fermentasi anaerobik. Pengembangan proses produksi biogas menggunakan digester dua tahap dapat mengoptimalkan reaksi fermentasi anaerobik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu fermentasi terhadap produksi gas dari perlakuan kombinasi substrat (limbah cair dan lumpur aktif) pada digester 2 tahap. Penelitian terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu 1) analisis subtrat, 2) proses produksi biogás menggunakan digester 2 tahap, dan 3) analisis data. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga kombinasi bahan baku, yaitu POME sebesar 90, 80, dan 70 % dan lumpur aktif sebesar 10, 20, dan 30%. Kombinasi POME 90% dan lumpur aktif 10% dilambangkan 90LC:10LA, kombinasi POME 80% dan 20% lumpur aktif dilambangkan 80LC:20LA, dan kombinasi POME 70% dan 30% lumpur aktif dilambangkan 70LC:30LA. Bahan baku diumpankan ke dalam digester dua tahap dengan laju alir 0,35 L/hari selama 40 hari. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa waktu fermentasi memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap produksi biogas pada digester tahap II. Seluruh kombinasi memperlihatkan tren peningkatan volume biogás selama waktu fermentasi. Prosentase peningkatan volume biogas tertinggi antara digester I dan digester II sebesar 121,29 % terjadi pada kombinasi 80LC:20LA. Waktu fermentasi pada digester tahap II untuk kombinasi 90LC:10LA, 80LC:20LA, dan 70LC:30LA juga memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap nilai pH. Volume biogas tertinggi selama 40 hari waktu fermentasi didapatkan pada kombinasi 90LC:10LA, yaitu sebesar 11,35 liter.

Abstract

Methyl Ester Sulfonic Acid (MESA) is an intermediate product of Methyl Etser Sulfonate (MES). MES has manyapplications for personal care products, washing and cleaning products, and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). MESA production using SO3 in Single Tube Falling Film Reactor (STFR) is a common practice. This study was aimed to getthe best condition of methyl esters (ME) sulfonation process from palm olein using SO3 gas in STFR. The study wasdone in three stages which were production activities, analysis, and data processing. Research activities consisted ofproduction process of methyl esters from palm olein and studying of temperature and sulfonation time effects towardME sulfonation process using STFR. Analysis stage include analysis of physico chemical properties of palm olein,analysis of physico chemical properties of methyl esters, and analysis of physico chemical properties of MESA. Tostudy the effect of temperature and sulfonation time toward ME sulfonation process, temperatures of 70, 90, and 110.ABSTRAKMethyl Ester Sulfonic Acid (MESA) merupakan produk antara dari surfaktan Metil Ester Sulfonat (MES). MESmemiliki beragam aplikasi dalam produk personal care, pencuci dan pembersih, dan untuk Enhanced Oil Recovery(EOR). Proses produksi MESA menggunakan gas SO3 dalam Single Tube Falling Film Reactor (STFR) merupakanteknologi yang umum digunakan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kondisi proses sulfonasi metil ester oleinterbaik menggunakan gas SO3 dalam STFR. Kajian dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu tahap penelitian, tahap analisis,dan tahap pengolahan data. Tahap produksi MESA terdiri dari pembuatan metil ester (ME) dari olein minyak sawit dankajian pengaruh suhu dan lama proses sulfonasi. Tahap analisis meliputi analisis sifat Þ siko kimia olein minyak sawit,analisa sifat Þ siko kimia ME olein sawit, dan analisis sifat Þ siko kimia MESA olein sawit. Kajian pengaruh suhu danlama proses sulfonasi terhadap proses sulfonasi metil ester olein terdiri dari suhu 70, 90, dan 110 oC dan lama prosessulfonasi 30, 60, dan 90 menit. Analisis varian pada !=0,01 menunjukan bahwa lama proses sulfonasi berpengaruh nyataterhadap kadar bahan aktif. Analisis varian pada !=0,01 juga menunjukan bahwa lama proses sulfonasi berpengaruhnyata terhadap nilai pH, bilangan asam, bilangan iod, dan kemampuan MESA dalam menurunkan tegangan antarmuka(IFT, Interfacial Tension) antara air formasi dan minyak bumi. Proses sulfonasi terbaik dicapai pada suhu sulfonasi 90oCdan lama proses sulfonasi 90 menit. Kondisi proses sulfonasi terbaik dapat menghasilkan MESA dengan karakteristikkadar bahan aktif 31,44%, pH 2,66, bilangan asam 24,88 ml NaOH/g sampel, bilangan iod 11,95 mg I/g sampel, danmemiliki kemampuan menurunkan IFT antara air formasi dan minyak bumi dari 30 dyne/cm menjadi 3 dyne/cm.

Abstract

Based on case studies that have been conducted in SMK Pertanian Pembangunan Negeri Lembang, waste treatment subjects still used a conventional method, and the students were less enthusiastic in the learning process. Therefore, the implementation of more interactive learning models such as blended learning with Edmodo is one of alternative models to resolve the issue thus the purpose of this study is to formulate the appropriate learning syntax for the implementation of blended learning with Edmodo to agree the requirement characteristics of students and waste treatment subject and explain the learning outcome obtained by students in the cognitive, affective and psychometric aspects on the subjects of waste treatment. This study was conducted by the method of classroom action research (CAR) with a Mc. Tagart model. The results of this study concluded that the implementation of blended learning with Edmodo on the subjects of waste treatment can improve the students’ learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychometric aspects with the maximum increase in the value of N-gain 0.82, as well as students’ learning completeness criteria reached 100% in cycle 2. Abstract

The food service industry has received many challenges in the current era of disruption of the industrial revolution 4.0. Given the urgency of increasing the Motivation and Organizational Commitment in one of the restaurants in Jatinangor, the title of this study is "Motivation, Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction in Waroeng Spesial Sambal, Jatinangor". This research belongs to the category of associative causal research using a quantitative approach. The results showed: 1. Motivation partially has a significant effect on the Employee Satisfaction variable; 2. Organizational Commitment partially has no effect and isn’t significant on the Employee Satisfaction variable; 3. Motivation and Organizational Commitment simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the Employee Satisfaction variable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of students' independent learning based on indicators of independent learning in terms of the process and management of students when they were studying. When students learn independently, it plays an important role in learning success and helping students obtained optimal learning outcomes. This research was used analytic descriptive research methods and survey techniques, used four indicators of independent learning in terms of the process and management of students when they were studying. The results showed that most of the students had independent learning in high to very high categories on the indicators of having initiative and motivation to learning, able to diagnose learning needs, able to determine learning targets and learning goals, and able to monitor, organize, and control learning. The results showed that almost all students had a level of independent learning in the high to the very high category on those three indicators.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) in the era of globalization has had a major influence in all aspects of life, including in the world of education. In the development of information and communication technology, Android-based learning media was developed as a means of learning for students. The limited number of books that can be used by students and in conditions like now where the learning process is carried out online requires learning media that can be used and accessed easily by students. The objectives of this study are: (1) developing android-based learning media, (2) understanding the feasibility of android-based learning media, and (3) evaluating the digital literacy of students by using android-based learning media as a learning resource. The development of this android-based learning media uses a research and development model with stages including identification of potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, small-scale trials, product revisions, large-scale trials, and product revision. The results of this study indicate that the learning media developed was found "Decent" by material experts, media experts and linguists and students stated "Very Decent" to be used as learning media in the subject of Plantation and Herbal Commodity Processing Production. Furthermore, the learning media is applied in learning by using One Shot Case Study. Based on the results obtained, the digital literacy that students have is already in the "Very High" category for the aspect of using. As for the understanding aspect, the indicators of analyzing and creating are in the “High” category and the indicators for reflecting and acting are in the “Very High” category
