Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors shaping the behavior of generation Z job seekers in Indonesia. This research was conducted in generation Z (birth year 1995- 2010) by involving 150 respondents divided into 50 student respondents each in the fields of technology, creative, and business, most of them lived in Jakarta and Bandung. The questionnaire was distributed online via google docs. This research uses quantitativemethods. The form of a questionnaire outlined in online form via google docs with a total of 33 Likert scale question items. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) is used to determine the factors shaping the behavior of generation Z job seekers in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the dimensions of intrinsic, extrinsic, altruistic, status, and social work values are able to measure the latent variables of generation Z work behavior. In this study, it was found that the three dimensions that had the greatest contribution were the altruistic, status, and social work values. The social dimension is the same as the research findings in Turkey, while the altruistic and social dimensions are the same as the research findings in India. This study recommends that the concept of workspace needs to pay attention to the distance between employees because generation Z wants a workplace where they want to have a good relationship with their colleagues and can help each other, when observed from the altruistic and social work value factors. There should also be a refuge room facility so that employees can focus more on completing their work which can increase their capacity, as indicated by to the status factor. Keywords: workspace, work behavior, work value, generation z, confirmatory factoranalysis

Abstract

Exploration of play in childhood is very important in child development. One of the environments that can support children’s developmentis the play environment. So far, many children’s play environmentuses analog playing media. However, with the development ofspaceand technology, the formation of space is increasingly diverse.Oneof them is a combination of space with video mapping. Videomappingis implemented in the playroom so that it can open new exploratoryinteractions for children. Children with an age range of 5–7yearsbecome the subject of this study as a development of previousresearchand at that age, children begin to recognize and understandthephysical environment around them so that they can form a behavior. This study aims to determine the role of analog media and videomappingin play facilities that can stimulate children aged 5–7 years toexploreplay to encourage child development. This research methodusesSpatial Affordancesin Childcare Interior Design (SACID)as theinstrumentfor calculating the breadth and depth of affordance explorationwith the basic theory of Gibson’s observation, perception-actionaffordance.The results show that there is more variation in the spatialcomponentsof analog media than in video mapping media. However, interms of depth, video mapping is stronger. While the breadth of thetwomedia shows a fairly high exploration. This study shows that bothmediacan support children’s development with the different potentialofeach exploration that occurs between analog media space and videomapping.Based on these findings, this research can be considered inchoosingthe use of analog media or video mapping in the early childhoodplayroom.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought significant changes to the restaurant industry, including changes in consumer behavior and preferences. In Indonesia, young adults are a significant market segment for restaurants, and understanding their restaurant choices is crucial for the industry's survival. Despite the discussions about the massive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the hospitality industry by practitioners and researchers, only a limited number of papers have empirically examined consumer behavior in the context of restaurant choice in Indonesia. Consumers' concerns about safety and social distancing may lead to the permanent closure of some restaurants due to the absence of visitors. As restaurants develop comprehensive reopening plans, consumers may still have specific considerations when choosing a restaurant. This pilot study aims to evaluating acceptability of methods and instruments to participants in identifying consumers' behavior factors that driven their restaurant choice to dine-in during the New Normal period. The sample was composed of 50 young adult consumers from different cities in Indonesia with a moderate risk increase of COVID-19 cases. An adapted 76 item questionnaire with 5-point scales was administered online using Microsoft form and analyzed in SPSS 26 software. After excluding 14 item, the result showed that the number of 62 item were valid and reliable for data analysis. Therefore, the results of this pilot study have implications for subsequent quantitative research, with one of the methods being statistical analysis, specifically factor analysis.
