Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate the construct of structured meals environment scale. The method used was a cross-sectional survey. The participants were working mothers with early-aged children. The structured meals environment scale used Likert scale which consists of three dimensions: structured meals setting, structured meals timing, and family meals setting. The results of EFA (N = 302) showed that the scale explains the construct of a structured meals environment was 63.98%. The results of CFA (N = 202) showed that the goodness of fit model was acceptable. Factors loading > .5 (.503 - .819) shows the items are valid. Discriminant validity (AVE) moves from .482 - .577 with construct reliability > .7 (.760 - .802). Structured meals environment scale has met the psychometric property test so that the scale is proper to be used.

Abstract

Grounded theory has proven to be a very popular methodological choice for researchers in areas such as education, health, and social since 1960. This review aims to identify and describe the use of grounded theory in the field of psychology. The online database was used as a source including psycINFO, ScienceDirect, and Proquest. There are (N = 18) articles resolved through the screening process by setting exclusion or inclusion criteria. The results of the review on the application of grounded theory in psychology research can be grouped in several points including how to write the title of research, research objectives, to step-by-step grounded theory implementation, technically ranging from researcher attitude, role, and treatment to literature, data collection, its findings. Two grounded theory versions are identified (i.e, classic grounded theory and constructivist) and described in detail the technical applications that can be chosen by the researcher by considering the differences (strengths and weaknesses) between the two. Understanding and disciplined and consistent application of grounded theory will help contribute either in the building, developing, or filling the theoretical gaps that exist. Keywords: classic grounded theory, constructivist grounded theory, psychology

Abstract

This research examines the acculturation strategy of the Tabut community, a minority group in Bengkulu. Acculturation occurs when two or more cultures meet, and the purpose of an acculturation of an acculturation strategy is to harmonize the contact. According to the Berry perspective, there are four strategies that groups or individuals can apply during acculturation. These are: integration, separation, assimilation, and marginalization. Most cultures in Indonesia, physical or non-physical, have been formed through an acculturation process. The Tabut tradition in Bengkulu is an example of a non-physical cultural process of acculturation. The Tabut came to Bengkulu from Punjab hundreds of years ago, and the long process of acculturation has occurred within the community and through their traditions. An integration strategy has been used by the Tabut community to preserve their heredity. In this context integration means maintaining the original culture and perceived cultural contact.DOI: 10.15408/sdi.v24i3.4319

The method used is quantitative with a purposive sampling technique. The research sample amounted to 58 people. The scale used is CVR (Content Validity Ratio) and then analyzed using Pearson correlation calculations. The results showed a negative and significant relationship between self-concept and memorization procrastination. This is indicated by the correlation coefficient (rxy) of -0.536 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The higher the self-concept of students, the lower the procrastination of memorizing students. While the results of the study between memorization motivation and memorization procrastination showed a positive correlation. This is indicated by the correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.461 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05).
