Abstract

Abstract

Nowadays, students are less interested in using public transportation to the University of Tadulako. One reason is the travel time to arrive on campus can not be predicted. This study aims to determine the characteristics of urban transport users in serving the student travel, especially in Tadulako University.  The researc were conducted using descriptive method. The research was carried on by distributing questionnaires to 131 respondents. The respondents are the city transport users who travel to Tadulako University. The results of the research and analysis shows that the ease of getting public transportation to travel to and from the University of Tadulako classified as difficult, so users should walk or using the motorcycle taxi (ojek) to get to the waiting place for public transportation. There are areas frequented by the public transportation so that users can negotiate several times and there are also certain regions where users can only do 1 time negotiations within the same time frame. The uncertainty of travel routes makes the travel time of user to the destination is unpredictable.

Abstract

Tadulako  University  as one of  the state  universities  in the province  of  Central  Sulawesi  has  experienced rapid  development.    Physical  growth  that  continues  to  grow  along  with  its  academic  development causes  the movement of traffics activity to participate in the increase. This can cause negative impacts such as high pollution levels, vehicle density and high accident rates often occur in the campus area. This  study aims  to analyze  the  transportation system within the Tadulako University Campus. It is expected that with this research it can be obtained the description of  traffic  problems  that  occurred  in  the campus of Tadulako University includes network system and  road geometry, parking  and  analyzing the  policies  of  traffic  that  is  currently applied  in  the  campus of Tadulako University. Traffic surveys show that motorcycle users account for 66.8% and automobiles 33.2%. Geometric survey shows that the road in the campus  is  relatively good because almost all  roads have been  structured with asphalt with one way road  system. Survey on parking location also indicate that arrangement of parking space at some faculty are required so that vehicle not parked at road body. Further research is necessary to calculate the need for parking space.

Abstract

Population growth increases the need for housing, facilities / infrastructure and transportation. Theexpansion of the city that is not accompanied by the provision of infrastructure could result inproblems, one of them is the transportation problem. This study aims to determine the pattern of trafficmovement and socioeconomic factors that influence the trip generation in the district zones in Palu.Primary Survey conducted by delivering questionnaires to 1449 families residing in the four districtzones namely North Palu, East Palu, West Palu, and South Palu. The results of the questionnaires were tabulated to determine the amount and pattern of trip which were chosen as the independent and the dependent variable, and then analyzed through SPSS-16. Multiple linear regression equation was used to determine the factors that influence the trip generation. The analysis showed that there are three patterns of trip that occurs from each zone district in the city of Palu, i.e. Intra-zone, ekstra-zone, and Internal-External. Socioeconomic factors that influence significantly the trip generation districtzones of North Palu (Ypu), East Palu (Ypt), West Palu, (Ypb) , and South Palu, (Yps) are the number of family members (X1), the number of two-wheeler ownership (X2) and the amount of income (X5).Keyword:  Trip generation, Socio-economic aspect

Abstract

The trip generation is a submodel of four steps transportation planning model, used for calculating the mount of trip generation caused by land usage. The aim of this research is modeling the trip generation of Western Palu Region used by regression analyses. Data of traveler characteristics in study area i.e, amount of daily movement, number of family members, number of car ownerships, the amount of income were collected with a survey used quisioner methods. The result of this research found that the model of trip generation of Western Palu Region followed the multiple regression model, Y= 0,679+ 0,608X1 + 0,274X2 with coefficient of determination value, R2=0,294

Abstract

Asphalt Concrete Binder Course (AC-BC) Pavement is a type of asphalt pavement located between base layer and wearing course.  The study was conducted describing the the effect of the use of rice husk ash onthe characteristics of asphalt concrete AC-BC mixtures. The purpose of this study was to determine thecharacteristics of the asphalt concrete binder course mixtures (AC-BC) which uses rice husk ash as filler, determine the optimum percentage of rice husk filler in AC-BC pavement mixtures. Research materials include coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and rice husk ash. Coarse and fine aggregateobtained from Stone Cruiser of Taipa and Palu River, while rice husk ash obtained fromBiromaru area in Sigi Regency. Asphalt used in this study is Asphalt pen. 60/70 produced by Pertamina.Investigation and testing of these materials has been carried out in the Laboratory of Transportation andHighways, Department of Civil Tadulako University of Palu.Research has been carried out by using rice husk ash filler variation of 0%, 25% and 50%. The datacollected includes characteristics of volumetric and Marshall test characteristics of AC-BC pavementmixture on each rice husk ash content. The data include density, VIM, VMA, VFB, Stability, flow, MarshallQuotient value and residual stability of the mixture. The data is processed and displayed in graphical form,  then do a comparative analysis between the characteristics of the AC-BC mixture that uses rice husk ash andwithout rice husk ash.The results of the study found that increasing the percentage of rice husk ash content in the mix AC-BC tendsto increase the use of bitumen content. It can be seen from the increasing value of Optimum Bitumen Content(OBC) on rice husk ash variation of 0% - 50%. The results also gain an increase in the durability of the ACBCmixtureofricehuskashonthevariationof0%- 5%asindicatedbytheincreasedtheresidualstabilityvalueofthe AC-BC pavementmixtures.Maximum stabilityoccursinrice huskashcontentof25%.Keywords: Asphalt Concrete Binder Course (AC-BC), rice husk ash
