Abstract

This study was intended to reveal: (1) the dimensions of musical interpretation taught; (2) the strategy used by teachers to introduce musical interpretation in instrument practice class; and (3) teacher’s ability or competence to teach musical interpretation. This research is case study, with the subjects were 12 teachers responsible for instrument practice class. They were selected using purposive sampling method. The data collection method used were in-depth interviews, passive participation observation, documentation and focus group discussion (FGD). The instrument of study was the researcher herself. Data validity was conduct triangulation by reviewing data acquired from a source. All data then were analyzed using interactive model which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results show that: (1) the dimensions of musical interpretation taught in every instrument practice class, were only dimensions of knowledge; (2) the strategy used by teachers when teaching musical interpretation was a direct strategy, teacher-centered learning approach, and used individual approach; and (3) teachers’ competence in teaching musical interpretation must be improved, both pedagogical and professional competences.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aimed to (1) describe the effort to inculcate the values of nationalism in school; (2) describe efforts to inculcate the values of nationalism in the history learning; (3) identify the obstacles of history teacher in instilling the values of nationalism. This research was a naturalistic qualitative research. The sample was determined through purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data trustworthiness was done through triangulation. Interactive model of Miles and Huberman were used for data analyzed. The results of the research showed that (1) the efforts to inculcate the values of nationalism in SMA Negeri 1 Pajangan had been implemented through the policy and school order. The suspension system became the basis for disciplining learners in school; (2) the inculcation of the values of nationalism by the history teacher was done through preparation of the lesson planing, teaching media according to material, lecturing method and discussion; (3) there were three factors that became obstacles of history teacher in the effort to inculcate the values of nationalism, were a) history teacher, b) attitudes of learners, and c) learning facilities. Keywords: the cultivation of the values of nationalism, nationalism, the study of history.

Abstract

Education will be more meaningful if it is in accordance with children's talents and development. If talents can be recognized from an early age, it will be easier for children to reach the gates of success. This study aims to discuss educational dance programs that facilitate the identification of early childhood dance talents. This study used a qualitative method with data collection through observation, interviews, video documents, and reflection journals. The study was conducted on fifteen students aged 5-6 years in a kindergarten in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. Findings of the study show that educational dance activity programs can make it easier for teachers and parents to identify early childhood dance talents. The audio-visual activities in the process of exploring dance movements make it easier for teachers and parents to identify early childhood dance talents compared to other movement stimuli. New approach to identify children's dance talents that can be used as a guide by teachers and parents in identifying and developing children's dance talents from an early age.

Abstract

In this paper, presented the results of a qualitative study of case studies of self- management strategies music teachers in interpretation of music teaching. The purpose of this research is to reveal the self-management strategies that teachers use in interpretation of music teaching. Subjects in this study were teachers who teach musical instrument practice as many as 12 people. In this study subject determined by purposive sampling technique. Interviews, observation, and documentation techniques are used for data collection. The data have been collected from being validated by using triangulation techniques and triangulation time, and analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation, and inference data. The results showed that components of self-management strategies used by teachers which include motivation, teaching method,and monitoring performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan literasi musik untuk siswa kelas IV yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pengembangan berdasarkan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop dan Disseminate). Kevalidan dilhat dari segi isi, bahasa, penyajian, kegrafikaan dan RPP, keseluruhan 3,78 dengan kategori sangat valid. Pratikalitas bahan ajar dilihat dari respon pendidik dengan rata-rata 90% respon peserta didik 90 %.  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar literasi musik yang dikembangkan layak digunakan di kelas IV SD.
