Abstract

Psychological capital as a positive psychological characteristic that reflected through several components such self-efficacy, hope, optimism, and resilience is important to adjust the changes that experienced by freshmen in a college. Storytelling is a form of communication that allows the listener to fully immerse in the content of the story and experience the emotions felt by the characters. This study aims to determine the effect of storytelling activities use “I’m a Superhero” module to increase students’ psychological capital. Quasi-experimental methods were used in the study that involving 127 first-year college students. The subjects of this study divided into two groups, 56 for the experimental group and 71 for the control group. The interventions were done for 22 days divided into six sessions and described in "I'm a Superhero" module. The analysis results using an independent sample t-test showed that there was a difference between experiment and control groups (t(125) = 5.176; p .01). It shows that the storytelling activity is the potential to be an alternative media to increasing students' psychological capital so that the freshmen more independent and quickly adjust to change.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of coping technique in reducing working stress. The reduced level of stress was expected to make more optimal performance. Subject consisted of 20 correctional officers, which were divided into two groups. 10 officers were in experimental group, which were trained with coping technique, and the other ten belonged to control group. The research used quasi-experimental design with control group that was untreated at pretest-posttest. Working stress was measured with a scale in which each subject in both groups filled the work stress scale before and after treatment. Data analysis using the Mann Whitney U- test indicated that there was a significant effect of the application of coping technique as an alternative solution to reduce the level of working stress of the correctional officers (U=20.00; p=0.023

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal dengan rekan kerja dan employee engagement pada karyawan PT. PLN (Persero) Distribusi Jawa Tengah dan Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Sampel berjumlah 70 karyawan yang diperoleh dengan teknik convienince sampling. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah Skala Employee Engagement (14 aitem valid, α= .86) dan Skala Komunikasi Interpersonal dengan Rekan Kerja (25 aitem valid, α=.93). Analisis korelasi Spearman’s menunjukkan nilai rxy =.55 dan p=.000 (p<.001). Hasil ini menunjukkan ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara komunikasi interpersonall dengan rekan kerja danemployee engagement. Semakin tinggi komunikasi interpesonal dengan rekan kerja maka semakin tinggi pula employee engagement. Komunikasi Interpersonal dengan Rekan Kerja memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar  30% terhadap Employee Engagement
