Abstract

FAKTOR DETERMINAN PROFESIONALISME GURUAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualifikasi pendidikan terhadap profesionalisme guru; sikap inovatif terhadap profesionalisme guru, etos kerja terhadap profesionalisme guru; dan pengaruh kualifikasi pendidikan, sikap inovatif, dan etos kerja secara simultan terhadap profesionalisme guru IPS SMP di Kabupaten Gowa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kausal-komparatif yang bersifat ex post facto dengan melibatkan 119 guru IPS tingkat SMP, baik sekolah negeri maupun swasta, yang mengajar di Kabupaten Gowa. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan hipotesis penelitian diuji dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualifikasi pendidikan, sikap inovatif, dan etos kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap profesionalisme guru. Besarnya sumbangan efektif kualifikasi pendidikan, sikap inovatif, dan etos kerja secara simultan terhadap perubahan profesionalisme guru IPS tingkat SMP di Kabupaten Gowa adalah 46,50%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, kualifikasi pendidikan guru, sikap inovasi, dan etos kerja perlu ditingkatkan agar profesionalisme guru meningkat melalui penyesuaian kualifikasi pendidikan yang dimiliki dengan standar minimum yang telah ditetapkan pemerintah dan melanjutkan pendidikan yang sesuai/linear dengan mata pelajaran yang diampu sehingga dapat lebih fokus/kompeten dalam bidang tersebut.Abstract This study was aimed at determining the effects of educational qualifications on teacher professionalism; innovative attitude on teacher professionalism, work ethic on teacher professionalism; and the influence of educational qualifications, innovative attitudes, and work ethic simultaneously on the professionalism of social science junior high school teachers in Gowa District. This study was an ex-post facto causal-comparative research involving 119 social science teachers of the junior high school, both public and private, teaching in Gowa District. The data were collected using questionnaires and research hypotheses were tested using multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that educational qualifications, innovative attitudes, and work ethic have significant effects on the teacher professionalism. The amount of effective contributions of educational qualification, innovative attitudes, and work ethic simultaneously to the change of professionalism of junior high school teachers in Gowa is 46.50%. Based on the results, teacher education qualification, innovation attitudes and work ethics need to be improved so that teacher professionalism increases through adjustment of educational qualification at the minimum standards set by the government and continuing education that is linear with the subjects that can be more focused/competent.
