Abstract

The scientific ability of students who are under international average standards compels them to continuously improve education quality in Indonesia. The inequality understanding of scientific process skills in districts like in Sragen is worth the attention. Teachers as the education core should be able to professionally develop the scientific process skills of participants. The research aims to determine the professional influence of teachers on the skills, including knowing the profile of the skills, mastery of the skills’ aspects. This research is a quantitative descriptive survey. The study was conducted on 198 students and biology teachers. Collecting student data with tests and teachers with questionnaires and interviews. Results show the skills in Sragen categorized as medium to average 19.22 of 32, the highest mastery of the skills’ aspects are communicating and predicting, the lowest is identifying variables, collecting and processing data, there is a professional influence of teachers on the skills.

Abstract

Pembangunan sektor sumber daya manusia memiliki arti yang sangat penting dalam rangka upaya memacu pembangunan masyarakat Indosesia secara berkelanjutan. Pembangunan manusia bukan sededar terfokus pada penyiapan tenaga ahli, siap dan terampil sebagai pelaku pembanguanan wawasan berpikir, yaitu penghayatan pembangunan berwawasan  lingkungan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi penambahan air kelapa dan vitamin B1 terhadap pertumbuhan anggrek Dendrobium nobile serta mengetahui konsentrasi vitamin B1 yang optimum untuk pertumbuhan anggrek pada media kultur in vitro berbasis pupuk. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan tersarang (nested design) dengan faktor I adalah perlakuan air kelapa (dengan air kelapa dan tanpa air kelapa) dan faktor II adalah variasi konsentrasi vitamin B1 (0 ml.L-1, 0,25 ml.L-1,0,5 ml.L-1, dan 1 ml.L-1). Sampel yang digunakan adalah bibit anggrek D. nobile umur 11 bulan dalam kultur in vitro yang mempunyai keseragaman karakter pertumbuhan. Data penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (Anova) metode rancangan tersarang dan uji Least Significant Difference (LSD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan air kelapa memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertambahan diameter batang dan berat basah tanaman sedangkan penambahan vitamin B1 memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertambahan jumlah daun, jumlah akar, dan panjang akar anggrek. Konsentrasi vitamin B1 yang optimum untuk pertumbuhan anggrek adalah 0,5 ml.L-1 baik pada media yang mengandung ataupun tidak mengandung air kelapa.OPTIMATION FERTILIZER BASED IN VITRO CULTURE MEDIA COCONUT WATER AND B1 VITAMIN ADDITION FOR Dendrobium nobileThis study was aimed at determining the effect of the coconut water and vitamin B1 as a combination on the growth of Dendrobium nobile orchids and determining the optimum concentration of vitamin B1 for orchid growth in fertilizer-based in vitro culture media. This study was an experimental study using a nested design which factor I was the treatment of coconut water (with and without coconut water) and factor II was the variation in the concentration of vitamin B1 (0 ml.L-1, 0.25 ml. L-1, 0.5 ml.L-1, and 1 ml.L-1). The samples used were 11 months old D. nobile orchid seeds in in vitro culture which had simultaneous growth characters. The data were analyzed using Anova, nested design method and Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results show that the addition of coconut water has a significant effect on the increase in stem diameter and plant wet weight. The addition of vitamin B1 has a significant effect on the increase in the number of leaves, the number of roots, and the length of the orchids. The optimum concentration of vitamin B1 for orchid growth is 0.5 ml.L-1 both in media with or without coconut water.

Abstract

This study aims to; 1) Determine the effectiveness of PBL brainwriting method supplemented with the concept on improving students' critical thinking skills; 2) Determine the effectiveness of PBL with brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping on improving students' problem solving; 3) Determine the effectiveness of PBL brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping on improving students' critical thinking and problem solving skill simultaneously; and 4) To determine the relationship between critical thinking and problem solving. This type of research is a quasi-experiment, sampling using a cluster sampling technique. The instruments of this study used test questions on critical thinking ability and problem-solving ability. The results of the study with the MANOVA test showed that there was a significant simultaneous effects PBL model of the brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping on critical thinking and problem solving skills, the PBL model of the brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping is effective in improving students' problem solving skills, the PBL model of the brainwriting method supplemented with concept mapping is effective in improving students' problem solving skills, and here is a correlation between critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Abstract

Movement system material learning requires direct experience to find concepts and associate them with the real world. The need for teaching materials based on local culture in learning biology is one of the important needs to bring students in traditional knowledge and values in the community environment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the motions of starling's lawu dance as a learning resource in the movement system material for grade VIII Junior High School students. This research is a type of exploratory descriptive research. The informant of this study was a science teacher at Junior High School. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, FGDs, and assessment of the feasibility of learning resources. Data analysis techniques are used in descriptive research through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. The results of the study show that there are 22 motion vectors for the starling lawu dance which have the potential to become a source of learning the motion system. The results of the motion analysis of the starling lawu dancers can be used as a basis for further development of teaching materials. Further efforts are needed to package teaching materials based on local culture that is tailored to learning needs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian untuk mengambangkan media belajar berupa e-book Virus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Mengembangkan media belajar e-book materi Virus yang layak berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli media dan guru dan 2) Mengetahui respons peserta didik terhadap e-book materi virus yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendidikan biologi. Penelitian pendidikan biologi menggunakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (RnD) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation) tetapi terbatas sampai tahap development. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu, e-book materi Virus dinyatakan sangat layak oleh ahli media dan guru, serta dinyatakan layak oleh ahli materi. Media e-book juga direspons sangat baik oleh siswa untuk digunakan sebagai media belajar

Abstract

Kekurangan air menyebabkan lahan dalam kondisi cekaman kekeringan sehingga pertumbahan tanaman dapat terhambat. Mikoriza merupakan biostabilizer yang dapat ditambahkan untuk tanaman bertahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh serta ada tidaknya interaksi pemberian mikoriza dan Trichoderma sp., terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman bawang merah varietas Crok Kuning (Allium cepa L. Aggregatum group) pada berbagai variasi frekuensi penyiraman. Jenis penelitian merupakan eksperimen dengan model Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktor yaitu pemberian mikoriza (tanpa mikoriza, mikoriza, Trichoderma sp., kombinasi mikoriza + Trichoderma sp.) dan variasi frekuensi penyiraman (setiap hari, 3 hari sekali, dan 6 hari sekali). Parameter pertumbuhan yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, panjang akar berat segar dan kering daun, umbi, akar, dan persentase infeksi mikoriza. Analisis data menggunakan uji Two-Way ANOVA varian faktorial dilanjut uji Duncan apabila perlakuan mikoriza, frekuensi penyiraman, dan interaksi keduanya signifikan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tanpa pemberian Trichoderma sp., mampu meningkatkan berat segar daun, umbi, akar, dan berat kering akar, sedangkan perlakuan frekuensi penyiraman memberikan pengaruh terhadap berat segar dan berat kering akar. Adanya interaksi antara pemberian mikoriza dengan frekuensi penyiraman terhadap berat segar daun, berat segar umbi, berat segar akar, dan berat kering akar tanaman bawang merah.

Abstract

This research aims to determine optimum combination of addition 2-iP and 2,4-D with different concentration and the nodus position for induction Dendrobium Red Emperor ‘Prince’ axial shoots. The research employed a CFR design with two factors, namely: variation of combined concentration 2-iP and 2,4-D (A: 1 ppm 2-iP + 2 ppm 2,4-D; B: 2 ppm 2-iP + 1,5 ppm 2,4-D; C: 3 ppm 2-iP + 1 ppm 2,4-D; D: 4 ppm 2-iP + 0,5 ppm 2,4-D) each treatment was repeated 6 times and the nodal position (top, middle, bottom). The basic medium is NP+CW. The axillary bud growth is measured based on the time of bud emerge, shoot growth, explant percentage which form axillary bud, root growth, and plantlet wet weight. Data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with DMRT 5%. Results show that B treatment give fastest bud emerging time, and highest stem diameter, buds height, leaves length, leaves width, roots length. A treatment shows best results on shoots number, plantlet wet weight, number of leaves, and number of roots. The optimum combined concentration of 2-iP and 2,4-D to induce axillary shoots is 2 ppm 2-iP + 1,5 ppm 2,4-D, whilst best nodus position is the top one.

Abstract

Studying biology has research topics that are closely related to all the living things around the student and important for them to understand thoroughly. One of the local potentials in the environment around students that can be used as a source of learning biology is spice plants. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research aims to describe the spice plants in the Botanical Smartpark, which can be used as learning resources. The result of this research shows that there are 57 species and 27 families of spice plants found at the Botanical Smartpark, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Spice plant biology objects can be used in biology learning by using project-based learning and socio-scientific issues-based learning models. In addition, this local potential can support education for sustainable development (ESD), through environmental conservation.
