Abstract

This study aim to determine the effect of dragon fruit with Saccharomyces cereviseae on diets to chicken carcass age of 10 weeks. This research has been conducted in the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Research Station, Jimbaran, Badung Regency for 100 weeks. Chickens used were 100 head of local chicken (Gallus domesticus). The design use was Completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications. The control diet is chicken were offered diets without dragon fruit (RKBN0), diets with skin dragon fruit fermented Saccharomycescerevisiae 5% (RKBN1), diets with skin dragon fruit fermented Saccharomycescerevisiae 7% (RKBN2), and diets with skin dragon fruit fermented Saccharomycescerevisiae 9% (RKBN3). Drinking water and feed were offered ad libitum. The variables measured were: slaughter weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage and parts of carcass. The results showed that administration of dragon fruit peel fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae7% (RKBN2) and 9% (RKBN3) differ significantly (P<0.05) compared with that obtained ration chicken without skin dragon fruit fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae (RKBN0) in the variable slaughter weight, carcass weight, breast weight, and the weight of the wing just carcass percentage, weight back and thigh weights had no significant (P>0.05). Based on research can be concluded that the administration of skin dragon fruit fermented Saccharomyces cerevisiae as much as 9% (RKBN3) on chicken can increase slaughter weight, carcass weight, and part of carcass (breast and wing) and the provision of as much as 7% (RKBN2) can increase the weight beef, carcass weight and carcass recahan on the wings while giving as much as 5% (RKBN1 ) does not affect the slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage and parts carcass on (weight breast, wings, back and thighs).

Abstract

The research has been carried out to evaluating the growth of bali drake aged two until eight weeks given ration supplemented with biosupplement containing preeminent cellulolytic bacteria isolated from termitesin Peguyangan Kaja Village, Denpasar Utara Subdistrict, Denpasar for twelve weeks. Bacteria isolates used in this research were first and second preeminent probiotic cellulolytic bacteria isolated from termites with coded BR3.3 and BR3.5. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted five treatments and three replicates were enployed. The fisrt treatment was basal ration without supplemented (RS0), while the other treatments were ration supplemented biosupplement without termites preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio0), Ration supplemented with biosupplement containing termites first preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio1), Ration supplemented with biosupplement containing termites second preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio2), and Ration supplemented with biosupplement containing first and second preeminent cellulolytic bacteria from termites (RSBio1-2). The observed variables in the research were commencing body weight, final body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption, and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR). The result showed that baliness duck given ration supplementated with biosupplement containingtermites first or seconds preeminent cellulolytic bacteria (RSBio1 and RSBio2) can increasing (P0,05). While for feed consumption, all treatments has not significant different (P>0,05). It was concluded that baliness duck given ration supplemented with biosupplemented containing first or second preeminent cellulolytic bacteria from termites can increasing final body weight, body weight gain, and efficiency of feed usage with relative same for feed consumption.

Abstract

A study aimed to determine performance of kampong chicken age 2 – 8 weeks given ration containing dragon skin fruit meal fermented Saccharomyces cerevisiae with level 5%, 7%, and 9%. The Study was conducted at research station Faculty of Animal Science, Udayana University Jimbaran, Badung, Bali for 2 month. The study used Randomized complete design (RCD) with 4 treatmens and 5 replicated. Those treatments as follows RKBN0 : Rations without fermented of skin dragon fruits and whereas RKBN1, RKBN2, and RKBN3 contained 5%, 7% and 9% fermented of skin dragon fruit respectively. Variables observed were final weight, weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio/FCR. Result showed that fed ration containing dragon skin fruit meal fermented Saccharomyces cerevisiae with level 7% (RKBN2) and 9% (RKBN3) decrease (P<0,05) feed consumtion ration were 4,41% and 7,45% respectively, but no effect for final body weight, weight gain, and FCR of kampong chicken age 2 – 8 weeks. Key words: Kampung chicken, Skin of dragon fruit, Performance, Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect  of using superior termites bacteria biosupplement in ration on the internal organ of bali drakes up to 12 weeks of age. this experiment used of 75 birds with homogenuous body weight ( 223,8 ± 11,19 g). The experimental design used in this study was complettely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3  replicated those of  RB, RBio0, RBio1, RBio2, RBio1-2 treatments were duck fed basal ration, fed basal ration with biosupplement without superior termites bacteria, fed basal ration with biosupplement containing superior 1 termites bacteria, fed basal ration with biosupplement containing superior 2 termites bacteria, fed basal ration with biosupplement containing combination superior 1 and 2 termites bacteria respectively. The variables were observed were the heart weight, liver weight, bile weight and spleen weight. The results of this study showed that fed biosupplement containing combination superior for variable of heart weight, liver weight, bile and spleen weight, fed biosupplement superior bacteria termites in basal ration were not significant different (P>0,05).

Abstract

The study aimed to determine how much the effect of the storage time at room temperature on the quality of chicken eggs with different length of storage time. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Livestock Product Technology and Microbiology, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University for a month. The study used a sample of chicken eggs which were maintained extensively as many as 60 eggs. The research design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely: eggs that were stored for 0 day (P0), 7 days (P1), 14 days (P2) and 21 days (P3) at room temperature, each treatment was repeated three times with 5 eggs so that the total was 60 eggs, which aimed to strengthen the research data. Variables observed on egg quality test were; egg weight, eggshell weight, eggshell thickness, egg yolk color and Haugh units of eggs. The results showed there were no significant differences (P>0,05) on egg weight and egg yolk color that was influenced by the duration of storage, although the storage time of 14 days was better than without storage and stored for 7 days but the difference was not significant (P> 0,05), only the storage for 21 days (P3) which was markedly poorer color of egg yolk (P <0,05) compared with P2. While on the other treatments were not statistically significantly different (P> 0,05). Haugh units of eggs constantly decreased during storage. Storage for 14 days (P2) and 21 days (P3) was significantly (P <0,05) lower than P0 and P1, but P2 was not different (P>0,05) compared with P3. It can be concluded from the research result that the storage of chicken eggs reared extensively kept at room temperature for 0, 7, 14 and 21 days decreased the quality but it is still suitable for consumption up to 21 days storage time at room temperature.
