Abstract

About 40%of heart disease patients do not realize they have coronary heart disease (CHD). Based on the lifestyle of people in Aceh, there are several factors that can increase the CHD risk, such as smoking, coffee, fatty foods, stress, and lack of physical activity. Such a lifestyle has the potential to increase the risk of CHD, as evidenced statistical papers reportinghigh levels of CHD cases in Aceh. This study was aiamed toreview the patients lifestyle with coronary heart disease at Zainoel Abidin Hospital, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. This research is quantitative, with a case-control design. In April 2017, 206 cases of CHD and 206 non-PJK cases were analyzed, using patients medical record and a lifestyle questionnaire, in Zainoel Abidin Hospital. The result of bivariate analysis through a chi-square test showed that lifestyle factors related to CHD included diet, physical activity, smoking, coffee, and stress control (p <0,05). The results of the multivariate analysis with logistic regression showed that smoking is a lifestyle that remains a consistent as a risk factor for CHD. In addition, after interacting with other risk factors, stress control and coffee drinking habits become a protective factor of CHD. Smokers are twice risky to have CHD than nonsmokers. The influence of lifestyle on CHD is also determined by age and income factors. The research implications of this study offer various parties the opportunity to pursue an active involvement in preventive efforts against CHD.Keywords: Determinant, lifestyle, coronary heart disease, Zainoel Abidin Hospital

Abstract

Background : Patients with coronary artery disease share common risk factors as abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), in which screening for AA dilatation is recommended. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) may offer the opportunity to evaluate the cardiac function and to screen for AA dilatation during the same examination.Aims : This study aimed to compare risk factors for abdominal aortic dilatation with abdominal aorta index in patients with coronary artery disease, and to evaluate the feasibility of AA dilatation screening at bedside using TTE in population with CAD. Methods : This is a cross-sectional study of patients with CAD. The abdominal aortic was measured at the end of a regular TTE performed in consecutive patients admitted in coronary care unit of Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan using an echocardiography machine. Results : We enrolled 75 patients with mean age 56 (SD 10) years. Dilatation of abdominal aortic was observed in 21 patients (28%). From the analysis obtained a significant relationship between history of acute myocardial infarction with dilatation abdominal aorta (P = 0.04).Conclusion : Overall, the prevalence of dilatation of abdominal aortic increased with age and history of AMI. In regard to the simplicity, screening for AA dilatation during TTE may be of value for patients with CAD, especially in elder patients. Abstract

Kata Kunci: terapi back massage, akupresur, kualitas tidur, hemodialisaThe Difference between Back Massage Therapy and Acupressure on Quality of Sleep inHemodialysis Patients at General Hospital of LangsaABSTRACTObjective: This study aims at identifying the difference between back massage and acupressuretherapy on quality of sleep in hemodialysis patients at General Hospital of Langsa. Methods: Itemployed a quasi-experimental method with two-group pretest-posttest design. The population was88 patients who received hemodialysis routinely. A sample size was 66, consisting of 33 receivingback massage and 33 receiving acupressure and taken using non-probability sampling design, i.e.consecutive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires concerning the quality of sleep witha score of 0-21 and analyzed using bivariate analysis with paired t-test at α (0.05). Results: Theresults of the study indicated that there was the difference in the quality of sleep before and afterback massage therapy and acupressure with p-value=0.575 (>0.001). It was also found that therewas the increase in the quality of sleep in hemodialysis patients after the intervention. Conclusion:Back massage and acupressure therapy can used as a complementary therapy which can appliedas the therapy for improving the quality of sleep in hemodialysis patients. Keywords: Back Massage Therapy, Acupressure, Quality of Sleep, Hemodialysis.
