Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness cognitive aspects of learning through the implementation theNHT Quiz-XA grade students at SMAN 12 Pekanbaru on subject matter the electrical circuit and KirchoffLaw in the academic year 2008/2009. The subjects were students of class XA 12 Pekanbaru SMA 2008/2009school year which amounted to 41 students. Data collection instrument is flat assessment of cognitiveachievement test. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques, including aspects relevant to thesubject matter and the characteristic of students. Results of data analysis shows that subject matter masteryof 91.7% with a complete mastery category by category relevance is very high and classical mastery learningstudents is 87.8% with a category of exhaustiveness is finished with high relevance category, learningeffectiveness of students categorized as effective.

Abstract

The Siak Children’s Forum (FASI) is a children's organization organized by the government of Siak Regency to bridge communication and interaction between government and children in order to fulfill the rights of children’s participation and  empowerment in a development policy program of Siak Regency as a child-friendly city. This study is conducted in order to inform and analyze the participation and communication of cohesiveness to achieve empowerment in a development policy of child-friendly city in Siak Regency. The research is qualitative with collecting data methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. The result objective of this research is to show the world that FASI as the sponsor for fulfilling and empowering childrens’ rights in participation is having an active participation to share and think of social participation and an interest in participation. FASI group cohesiveness is clearly seen from members’ intensive interaction, loyalty and communication in the forum through face-to-face communication or virtual network communication of all channels as the efforts to actualize and fulfill children’s rights in Siak Regency.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep didefinisikan sebagai kemampuan suatu individu dalam memahami suatu konsep tertentu. Peserta didik belum dapat dikatakan memiliki pemahaman konsep apabila peserta didik belum dapat dalam menjelaskan kembali materi yang telah dipelajari, Pada saat ini proses belajar masih belum optimal dalam mengembangkan kemampuan peseta didik. Penerapan model pembelajaran POE berbantukan PhET simulation diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep serta minat belajar peserta didik. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Quasi eksperimen model Posttest Control Only  Design. Penelitian ini terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dimana pada kelas eksperimen akan diberikan perlakuan yaitu selama pembelajaran akan menerapkan model pembelajaran POE berbantukan PhET simulation, sedangkan di kelas kontrol pembelajaran tetap menggunakan model konvensional. Setelah kelas tersebut diberikan perlakuan, maka kedua kelas akan diberikan tes pemahaman konsep yang terdiri dari 20 soal pilihan ganda. Kemudian, tes pemahaman konsep tersebut akan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif melalui pemahaman konsep siswa dan analisis inferensial melalui uji normalitas, homogenitas dan uji hipotesis berupa Uji Mann Whitney.
