Abstract

Regency/city worthy of a Child is a term first introduced by the country's Ministry of women's empowerment in 2005 through City Policy worthy of children. Due to accommodate the Government Area, later the term City worthy of Children into Kabupaten/Kota Worthy son and later shortened to KLA. In the policy described that the KLA is the effort of the Government district/municipality to speed up the implementation of the Convention on the rights of the child (CRC) from the legal framework into the definition, development and intervention Strategies, such as the policies, institutions, and programs that are worthy of a child. Defenition KLA is a district/city has a system of child rights-based development through the integration of the commitment and resources of Government, business community and thoroughly planned and sustainable policies, programs and activities for the fulfillment of the rights of the child. In the implementation of the KLA, Siak Regency also involve government agencies and local communities. This study uses qualitative methods, data collection techniques used in this researchis the interview, observation, and documentation. As for the subject of the Informants were selected using a purposive technique, which became informants in this study amounted to 9 informant i.e., Kasubag BP3AKB and 2 staff, 1, 1 Department of Health Office of education and culture, Chairman of the children's Forum Siak Regency, the facilitator Forum Child while Riau Child Ambassadors as well as 2 local community people. Data analysis techniques with the reduction of data, collecting data, presenting data, draw conclusions and evaluation by using the technique of examination of the validity of the data, namely the extension of participation and triangulation. The results of this discussion shows that the role of the institutions and the community is very important to speed up the fulfillment of the rights, obligations and the protection of children in Indonesia particularly in Siak Regency. Communities in Siak Regency strongly support and support of local government. The existence of this program, providing a positive impact on the development and growth of children at once can support creativity for children can be expected to be the next generation for growth and progress as a particularly child-friendly District Siak Regency as well as to Indonesia.Keywords: Child, Country, child protection, child-friendly Country

Abstract

The occurrence of natural disasters that occur at this time in Indonesia has become awareness and attention for the community to help, the impact that has had an effect on the continuation of the lives of people in the location of the natural disaster. Awareness and sensitivity to social issues can build a person's character about ways of thinking and behaving that help others to live and work together in building a better life (Chrisiana, 2005). Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Regional Riau is present as a place for distributing aid that makes it easy for the community to donate and be trusted as well as trust. ACT has a disaster emergency program, which handles problems related to events to natural disasters that occur. In the implementation of the program, persuasive communication is carried out so that the people who become the goals can act as expected. The purpose of this study was to determine the credibility of persuaders, persuasive messages, and communication media in the ACT-funded relief activities for victims of natural disasters that occurred in Indonesia.This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The technique of determining research informants using purposive sampling techniques. The informants in this study were ACT Riau Regionalh leader, four ACT Riau administrators, two permanent donors, and one non-permanent donator from ACT Riau. Data collection techniques carried out were interviews, observation, documentation. The validity of the data in this study the author uses an extension of participation and triangulation.The results of the study show that ACT Riau has credibility as a persuader formed from aspects of expertise through experience and mastery of information delivered based on the facts of natural disaster conditions. The persuasive message delivered consists of verbal messages including simple message clarity, message misunderstanding that is easily remembered by the community, and the accuracy of the message objectives in providing information regarding natural disasters that hit a region. Whereas nonverbal messages are seen from facial expressions, intonation, ethics, to the use of attributes as ACT identities. The selection of media consists of Instagram social media, Facebook and print media in the form of banners, billboards, and flayer which are placed in locations where many people pass through.Key Words: Persuasive Communication, Aksi Cepat Tanggap, Persuasive Communication Model of Applebeum & Anatol.

Abstract

Hearing impairment is a condition where a person is not able to function athis hearing to perceive sound tool and use it to communicate, it is caused by adisturbance in the functioning of hearing either in a mild, moderate, severe and verysevere. One of the methods used to train on the development of deaf students is byusing instructional communication in the learning process. This research aims todetermine the instructional methods of communication used in the at extraordinary(SLB) Sri Mujinab Pekanbaru, knowing instructional communication media used inthe classroom, and communication barriers that occur in the learning process.This research used qualitative research methods to the presentation ofdescriptive analysis. The informan in this research were 8 teachers and 3 deafstudents at extraordinary (SLB) Sri Mujinab Pekanbaru, while the object of study isan instructional teacher communication on student learning levels deaf High Schoolin extraordinary (SLB) Sri Mujinab Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques used wereobservation, interviews, and documentation. In reaching the validity of the data inthis study, researchers used an extension of participation and triangulation.The results obtained indicate that the instructional methods used by teachersto deaf students in extraordinary SLB Sri Mujinab Pekanbaru is by using signlanguage (hand movement, body language and face expression), oral method (mouthaction and face expression), and total communication (combination between signlanguage and oral method). The instructional media used for deaf students is audiovisual(video) and visual media (picture, the original object, artificial object.Instructional communication barriers between deaf students and teachers includebarriers source barriers and obstacles communicant channel or target.Keywords : deaf students, instructional communication, special school of SriMujinab Pekanbaru

Abstract

Interpersonal communication is needed in activity in the world of work, so thatleaders and subordinates can better understand the performance of each employee.Interpersonal communication can be very effective and can also be very ineffective.Conflicts in such a relationship with a subordinate or subordinates leadership with asubordinate makes walking is not effective interpersonal communication. To foster andimprove interpersonal relationships need to improve communication quality by improvingrelations and cooperation between the various parties in the Department of Population andCivil Registration Kampar regency. This study aims to determine the openness, empathy,support, positive sense, and equality in interpersonal communication leaders andsubordinates in improving performance in the Department of Population and CivilRegistration Kampar regency.This research method is qualitative analysis of interpersonal communication thisstudy uses of Joseph A. Devito, which is part of the perspective humanistc. The location ofresearch at the Department of Population and Civil Registration Kampar regency. A.Rahman Saleh street Bangkinang City District of Kampar regency. Informants in this studyis the Head of Department and employees using purposive sampling technique. Datacollection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation.Results of research on interpersonal communication leaders and subordinates inimproving performance in the service population and civil registration Kampar district isseen from five aspects: openness, empathy, support, positive sense, and equality. Openness,transparency between leaders and subordinates are still lacking and the need forimprovement in terms of in-depth approach undertaken leadership. Empathy, empathygiven leadership to bawahnnya still less because only some employees who had had enoughconcerns to their leaders. Support, supportive attitude is not very effective leadershipwhere leaders only put pressure on subordinates that work quickly resolved. Positive sense,positive sense leader must be able to speak informally in the language of the heart to hissubordinates. Equality, equality leaders still being discriminating subordinates this createssocial jealousy among subordinates.Key word : Interpersonal communication, improving performance.

Abstract

Community of Graffiti become a separate phenomenon, which represent one of the subkultural youngster in the middle of society. Community of ME&ART in Medan become a unique phenomenon, because specification and uniqueness of activity and also life style which this community have to make this community exist and recognized in Medan. Some ways do youngster to communicate the existence of self through art of graffiti. This research intend to know motive of member community ME&ART in expressing art of graffiti, symbol meaning of graffiti and for describe about communication behavior of community member ME&ART in Medan.This research used qualitative methode by phenomenological approach. The subject of research is 5 who represent Community member of ME&ART selected use technique of purposive. Data obtained through participant observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. This research use technique analyse data of interaktif by using data collecting technique, data discount, presentation of data and withdrawal of conclusion.The result of research showed that here are two motives of community members to express their graffiti art motifs of the past and the future motives. Meaning built by members of the community ME&ART Graffiti as a medium to deliver creative, media delivery of messages and as a medium of expression. Abstract

The performances art of lion dance is one of the values unique cultural heritage thatpresent and grow in Pekanbaru city. In the performances art of lion dance, there are symbolicaspects that is rich in mean and represented by phsical objects, musical intstruments, clothingand lion dance movements. So, the purpose of this researh was determining the meaning ofsymbolic situation, for determining the product of social interaction, and for determining theinterpretation of the performances art of lion dance in Tionghoa Cultural in Pekanbaru city.This research used qualitative methode by symbolic interaction approach. The subject ofresearch are four HBT (Himpunan Bersatu Teguh)’s lion dance players and four HTT(Himpunan Tjinta Teman)’s lion dance players as key informants and informan were selectedby using purposive technique. As supporting informant, one figure of Tionghoa community wasselected by purposive technique and three lion dance’s audiences were selected by accidentaltechnique. Data collection technique used participant observation, in-depth interview, anddocumentation.The result of research showed that symbolic situation in the performances art of liondance in Pekanbaru city include physical objects such as the main instrument (the head of sai),musical intstruments (drums, cymbals and gongs), and lion dance’s costumes which adoptedfrom the color of the character of Sam Kok Legend. While the social objects from theperformances art of lion dance include the movements of lion dances’s players. The product ofsocial interaction includes meaning of the performences art of lion dance is the meaning fromthe players’ side, lion dance is meant as a culture value and sport; lion dance is meant byTionghoa’s figure as solidarity value, culture, spiritual, and art; while lion dance is meant byaudiences as art value and spiritual. Interpretation the performances art of lion dance includethe closed action and the opened action. The closed action include internal motivation of liondance’s players (passion and get achievement), external motivation (encouragement of familyand friends), and both of pleasure and proud become lion dances’s players because able to getthe achievment in lion dance’s competitions. The opened action of lion dance’s players includethe face expression of instrumentals’ players who focus on the rhythm of the game and theattitude of lion dance’s players who were cooperative in teamwork, solid, discipline andconsistent in following the practice for implementation of the performances art of lion dance.Keywords : Symbolic Meaning, Lion Dance, Symbolic Situation, The product of SocialInteraction, Interpretation

Abstract

The low level of culture of students writing caused by several factors such as the low reading interest, the assumption that writing is a difficult activitiy, and incorrect use of time, on a large scale will affect to the quality of human resources. Kongkow Nulis is a comunity that stands due to the low culture of writing among students, especially students in Pekanbaru. The persuasive effort of Kongkow Nulis in persuading strudents to improve their culture of writing is through their writing campaigns. This study aims to determine the credibility of communicators, messages, and methods of persuasion used by Kongkow Nulis Community to improve the culture of writing among students in Pekanbaru.This research uses qualitative descriptive research method adn using persuasive communication model of Apllebaum & Anatol. The reasearch informant consisted of Founder, co-Founder, 4 Members, and 2 Students from general circles had parcitipated in Kongkow Nulis activities selected bye using purposive techique. Data collections techniques were conducted throug interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. To achieve the validity of the data in this study, the researcher used triangulation and reference adequacy.This results showed, first Kongkow Nulis community builds credibility as a communicator through two components, that is expertness and trust worthiness. Second, persuasive message consist of verbal and nonverbal messages. Verbal message conveyed are information about the authorship, such as steps to get started and get used to writing activities, tips and writing tricks, whose pattern is adopted from the programs of Kongkow Nulis through the use of languange with the components of clarity, assignments, and accurancy. As well as nonverbal messages through the use of colors and interesting designs, physical artifacts through work in the form of book, as well as vibrant, assertive and relaxed communicator intonation. Third, efforts in improving the writing culture are done through persuasion methods with approaches adapted to the cognitive, lifestyle, and emotional needs of students in Pekanbaru.Key Word : Persuasive Communication, Writing, Kongkow Nulis

Abstract

Qur'an tahfidz program in Umar Bin Khatab School is superior program of Salafiyah Ula grade of student that spends 75% hours from all study schedule in a week. It is not simple for teaching material to be memorized for children, especially in elementary grade. This condition causes teacher to use instructional communication method for teaching student. The purpose of this research should be to know adviser capability in this school, to know what kind of adviser's method and also to know communication obstacle in learning process.The research uses qualitative research method that is completed by descriptive analysis. All informant is adviser as if teacher, and also all choosing student that was decided by purposive method of sampling. Data Collection can be found by observation, interview and documentation. Data Validation comes from participative extension amd triangulation.The result of this research shows communicator credibility has been good that is viewed by teacher's memorizing skill of Qur'an and teaching Qur'an tahfidz to student and their trust to the teacher. There are many various of instructional communication methods such as givin demonstration, practising with friends and giving some tasks. Beside that, there are two obstacles should be faced, technical and psychological obstacle. Technical obstacle can be found in handling class condition of noisy because of unbalancing the number of both teacher and student. It causes teacher getting out of monitoring. Then, psychological obstacle can be seen from different capability of memorizing between students and also student often forgets half of their memories instead.Keyword: Instructional Communication, Learning Process, Qur'an Tahfidz

Abstract

Pesantren where education is capable of contributing to the birth of Muslim intellectuals , traditional function as an educational institution, a place of learning the teachings of Islam which implements the importance of religious morals. But now people have various perceptions of pesantren, ranging from old-fashioned place, a prison, a nest of terrorists, out of date until the behavior of students who graduate from pesantren have started to no longer reflect the behavior according to teachings derived. Interpersonal communication is a dialogue conducted between individuals or groups with specific goals and ways to get the desired results. This study aims to determine how the pattern of interpersonal communication pengasuh and pengurus against santri Pondok Modern Nurul Hidayah, interpersonal communication effectiveness factor, as well as communication symbols used in the interaction. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method with symbolic interaction approach. Informants in this research are pengasuh, pengurus and santri Pondok Modern Nurul Hidayah using purposive sampling. Technique.data collection techniques using participant observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the pattern of interpersonal communication pengasuh and pengurus against santri based on the theory of symbolic interaction that occurs symbols statements verbally and nonverbally that consists of several kinds of patterns: linear communication pattern, without any feedback from the communicant; interactional patterns that communicators and communications communicant be a mutual exchange of functions in living their functions; transactional patterns of communication that allows all interact between each other. Factor is the effectiveness of interpersonal communication: communication skills, empathy, openness, interpersonal perceptions, beliefs. Symbols used in the interaction, namely the use of verbal symbols that include spoken language and written text in the form of slogans, symbols nonverbal messages include facial, gestural, postural, paralinguistic, and artifactual, the friendly attitude that blends with gentle verbal symbols, and symbols in the form of nonverbal bell or Jaros that is used to manage all the activities of santri Pondok Modern Nurul Hidayah. Abstract

Stand up comedy has become a new interest in the world of art, especially comedy in Indonesia. Stand up comedy gives freedom to the person to talk about and do anything, so that a comic has his own way to make the audience interested and entertained. This study aims to determine the front stage, middle stage, and back stage comic in Pekanbaru city. This study uses qualitative research methods using dramaturgy studies. The informant of the study consisted of six people, consisting of three main informants and three supporting informants. Data collection techniques are conducted by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman interactive models in the form of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the appearance of a comic when on stage is the result of managing an impression that is designed in such a way as to the demands of the profession being pursued. Front stage is a display full of settings. An ideal concept that someone wants to display in accordance with the expectations of society. As a stand up comedian, the comic look for a "persona" as their identity when on stage and at the same time as a differentiator from other comic. The middle stage is the transition area of the comic from the back stage to the front stage. On this middle stage, comic conducts various kinds of activities to prepare everything that can support her appearance while on the front stage. Starting from the preparation of material consisting of writing, combud, open mic, and rewrite until build a mood before appearing as comic. On back stage they can show their original status without having to cover it up. There is nothing on this stage that they cover up and act like an ordinary person who has normal, emotional, and not always makes others laugh.
