Abstract

Learning outcomes can be influenced by learning models, learning styles, and learning media. The accuracy of the learning media used can increase students' thinking power even to higher levels of thinking. High-level thinking students can be trained through learning in class. Learning media that is suitable for teaching material can help students in thinking at a high level or HOTS so learning media are needed in the teaching and learning process. This study aims to create learning media and try out these media. Learning media developed using the Borland Delphi application. The learning media developed were tested in junior high school grade 8 in Medan. The research sample was taken by cluster random sampling where each school had the same opportunity to become a research sample. Samples were divided into categories group A and group B. Group A and group B were subjected to the normality and homogeneity tests. This study uses research instruments in the form of multiple-choice questions as many as 15 questions and questionnaires on students' opinions on the learning media used. The results showed that the learning process by using instructional media produces better or higher learning outcomes than the learning process without the use of instructional media. The average posttest students in the class using media developed higher than the average posttest students in the class who do not use instructional media. The results of the student questionnaire argue that the media need to be designed to be more interesting so that students are happier to use it

Abstract

Abstrak: Listrik merupakan salah satu kebutuhan yang paling utama di dalam kehidupan manusia saat ini. Pengenalan terkait dengan kelistrikan penting diberikan kepada siswa/i sejak di tingkat menengah pertama agar menimbulkan pemahaman terkait kelistrikan yang digunakan sehari-hari. Teori listrik yang didasari oleh Hukum Kirchoff 1 dan 2 dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui parameter kelistrikan di dalam sebuah rangkaian listrik. Pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, tim pengabdian melakukan pengenalan media praktikum Hukum Kirchoff 1 dan 2 yang dilakukan dengan metode pengajaran teori dan penggunaan media praktikum sebagai percobaan secara langsung pada rangkaian listrik. Sehingga dapat memberikan pemahaman secara teori dan praktek kepada siswa/i. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan pada sekolah MTs Parmiyatu Wassa’adah dengan tim yang terdiri dari 3 (tiga) dosen, 2 (dua) mahasiswa, dan 32 siswa/i MTs. Evaluasi hasil kegiatan dilakukan dengan menyebarkan angket instrumen evaluasi kegiatan yang terdiri dari 7 (tujuh) pernyataan. Adapun hasil rekapitulasi angket menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa/i telah setuju mendapatkan pelatihan tentang Hukum Kirchoff 1 dan 2 secara teori dan praktek yang dapat dipahami dengan baik. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil angket bahwa terdapat 66% siswa sangat setuju, 26% siswa setuju, 9% siswa kurang setuju, dan 0% siswa tidak setuju. Sehingga melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, siswa/i mendapatkan pengalaman yang baik dalam meningkatkan pemahaman terkait Hukum Kirchoff 1 dan 2.Abstract: Electricity is one of the most important requirement in human life today. An introduction related to electricity is important given to students from the junior high school level in order to generate an understanding of electricity that is used daily. Electrical theory based on Kirchoff’s Law 1 and 2 can be used to determine the electrical parameters in an electrical circuit. In this community service activity, the team introduced the Kirchoff’s Law 1 and 2 which was carried out using theoretical teaching methods and the utilization of practicum media as direct experiments on electrical circuits. Furthermore, it can provide theoretical and practical understanding to students. This community service activity was implemented at MTs Parmiyatu Wassa’adah school with a team consisting of 3 (three) lecturers, 2 (two) college student, and 32 MTs students. Evaluation of the results on that activities is carried out by distributing a questionnaire of activity evaluation instruments which consist of 7 (seven) statements. The result of the questionnaire recapitulation indicate that most students have agreed to receive training on Kirchoff’s Law 1 and 2 in theory and practice which can be understood well. This can be seen from the results of the questionnaire that there are 66% of students strongly agree, 26% of students agree, 9% of students weakly agree, and 0% students disagree. So that through this community service activity, students get a good experience in increasing understanding related to Kirchoff’s Law 1 and 2.
