Abstract

This research is a quantitative analytical survey research with an explanatory method in which the researcher attempts to explain to what extent the effect of learning mathematics on the results of mid-semester assessments for class VIII students in one of the junior high schools in Tangerang Regency. The sample of this research is students in class VIII. The sample selection was done randomly by taking 31 students from a total of 70 students. In collecting data related to student learning, we distributed a simple questionnaire by google form and to obtain data on the results of the mid-semester assessment of our students, we collaborated with the mathematics teacher in charge of the school. The results of this study stated that the way students learn in learning mathematics, especially in online learning, is said to have an effect of 11.45% on the results of the students' midterm assessment. the way to learn in online learning is divided into four sub categories of learning methods, including: how to take math lessons online, how to learn math independently at home, how to study math textbooks, and how to face math exams. Of these four sub-categories, three of them are in the good category in their implementation, while the sub-category of how to learn in online learning is in the sufficient category which indirectly means that there is still a need for re-evaluation related to the mechanism for implementing mathematics online learning.

Abstract

Alat peraga Anyaman Bangun Datar (ABD) Ajaib adalah alat peraga yang dibuat untuk membangun pemahaman peserta didik tentang konsep luas dan keliling suatu bangun datar. Penggabungan budaya dan matematika dalam pembelajaran ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan matematika realistik berbasis budaya sekitar. Pengembangan alat peraga ini dimaksudkan dengan tujuan untuk : 1) Mengenalkan jenis-jenis bangun datar dengan menjadikannya motif dalam anyaman yang dibuat. 2) Membangun konsep luas dan keliling bangun datar dengan menggunakan kotak-kotak pada anyaman sebagai satuan ukur. 3) Mengenalkan budaya anyaman pada peserta didik. 4) Meningkatkan kreativitas dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada siswa. 5) Memberikan gambaran yang jelas kepada siswa mengenai konsep matematika secara langsung dalam kehidupan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Dalam pendekatan etnografi peneliti berupaya mendeskripsikan serta menggambarkan secara rinci bagaimana alat peraga ABD Ajaib ini berguna dalam pembelajaran konsep luas dan bangun datar dalam matematika dan bagaimana alat peraga ini berguna dalam pembelajaran matematika realistic berbasis budaya sekitar.

Abstract

Pengunaan Goggle Classroom cukup terkenal dalam pendidikan di masa pandemi. Google Classroom menjadi sarana atau media yang dipilih untuk kegiatan proses pembelajaran daring yang dilakukan pada mata kuliah statistika penelitian pendidikan Matematika UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang keefektifan pembelajaran daring pada mata kuliah Statistika Penelitin Pendidikan Matematika dengan menggunakan Google Classroom. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari jawaban-jawaban responden dalam mengisi kuisioner (angket). Terdapat 23 Responden yang menjadi sampel dengan menggunakan teknik Convenience Sampling. Data tersebut kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif statistik dan dilanjutkan dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan one sample t-test. Setelah data di analisis, makadiperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran daring pada mata kuliah Statistika Penelitian Pendidikan Matematika dikatakan efektif.

Abstract

This research aims to explain students’ difficulties in learning mathematics, the factors that cause learning difficulties, and student anxiety in facing school final exams during a pandemic and explain the design of a good mathematics learning system that should be carried out during a pandemic according to the results of this research. This research is descriptive qualitative research that was conducted in one of the junior high schools in the Tangerang district in 2021 with the research sample being 9th-grade students. For getting the data, this research used questionnaires, interviews, and documentation techniques. The result of this study found some of the main problems that happened to students in facing school final exams include students' unpreparedness for online learning, lack of interest in learning in students, lack of understanding of the material, feeling lazy to take part in online learning, difficulties in learning mathematics and the anxiety of students themselves in facing the final school exam. Making a good and comfortable learning system by paying more attention to the mental readiness of students and making teaching materials in the form of audio-visual or video can be one of the right solutions. In addition, face-to-face learning can provide motivation to students to increase their confidence. Thus, their anxiety in facing the final school exam can be overcome.
