Abstract

ABSTRACT Responsibility of the family, especially the mother to the immunization of the infant and toddler plays an important role, so that it will obtain a benefit to the success of immunization and child health improvement. Mother's level of compliance that is less about basic immunization has the effect on family support to bring the baby to a health facility to receive immunizations. This study was intended to know the relationship between family support to mother’s compliance in following basic immunization for children in Tigabolon village in 2014 . Data analysis used Chi Square test. The results showed that the frequency of submissive mother was for 34 persons ( 65.4 % ) and non-adherent for 18 persons ( 34.6 % ). Statistical test results showed the variable of family support of informational, appraisal, instrumental, and emotional had influence on maternal compliance to implement basic immunization among children in Tigabolon village, Sidamanik district in 2014. It is recommeded that health workers can improve their services in the form of giving services in health center by providing information on the health of infants and toddlers in every visit, especially related to giving immunization replications such as Hepatitis B , Polio, DPT so that mothers understand that immunization is very important for the health of their children in order to enhance maternal adherence to implement basic immunization on children in Tigabolon village in 2014. Abstract

ABSTRACTNo Smoking Area is a place or area that prohibited for production, sales, advertising, promotion and use of cigarettes activities. Determination of No Smoking Area is an effort to protect the public against the risk of health problems due to the threat of contaminated environment. This is background of researcher to conduct the research with using a qualitative studies to identify and understand the perception of the leadership ranks at the District Health Office Langkat about No Smoking Area year 2014 because the leadership is the people who are influential in establish a policy to be determined.This study uses a qualitative approach that utilizes a data collection technique with in-depth interviews to six-person as informant.The results showed all informants are agreeing on the No Smoking Area in District Health Office Langkat because it has a positive impact especially in health sector. Informants also had a strong commitment to realize it. The policy draft regarding to No Smoking Area expressed by several informants in written rules and sanctions, it starts with the appeal and the to awareness by using the health promotion steps. Therefore, researcher suggest that the Leadership ranks to sets the No Smoking Area immediately and dissemination of guidelines for implementation of the No Smoking Area.Keyword = perception, leadrship ranks, smoke and no smoking area.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIt should be admitted that the medical technology that exists today is not fully able to overcome any health problems, especially with the more great variety of diseases and the factors that caused, not to mention the diseases would be known as the impact of progress in the field of detection of the disease, such as genetic diseases, malignancies, etc. . With this awareness inevitably medical world can not turn a blind eye to the progress of science and technology of treatment without medicine, although sometimes there is a method that looks irrational including baby massage (Lopez, 1995).
