Abstract

To study respon of peanut variety againts giving manure and NPK.The Study was conductedin Tumpatan Nibung, Batangkuis, Medan at the height of land ± 25 m above sea level fromApril 2012 to July 2012 using a randomized block design of three factors ie variety(Turangga, banteng), manure ( 0 and 1,6 kg/plot ), and NPK fertilizer ( 0 g/plot, 16 g/plot, 32g/plot ). The parameters measured were plant height, number of branches, number of podscontains perplant, number of empty pods perplant, seed dry weight perplant, dry weight of100 seeds perplant sample production, production perplot.The results showed that thevarieties significantly affect plant height ( 5 MST and 7 MST ). Manure treatment obviousaffect on plant height ( 5 MST ), and the number of empty pods perplant. While significantNPK fertilizer on plant height ( 5 MST , and 7 MST ). As for the interaction between varietywith manure treatment ( V x K ) is only significant effect on plant height parameter 5 MST.Keyword : peanut,variety,manure,fertilizer NPK.

Abstract

The research aimed is to determine soybean varieties toleran salinity through crossing of numbers soybean derivative varieties in the land of salinity with Anjasmoro varieties as female parent. Theresearch was carried out in plastic  house Agriculture’s Faculty of North Sumatera  University,Medan, In Indonesia with height ± 25 m above of surface of the sea.  Which was held in Mei toAugust. The research used Completely Randomized Design with five combination crossing with tenreplicanst to observe the result of crossing that is AnjasmorxN1, AnjasmorxN,AnjasmoroxN4 and AnjasmoroxN. A result of the reset shows that the result of crossing, an age ofparameter to get a flowers, a percentage of crossing success, an age of harvest, a numbers of podwhich contains 3 seeds and it is significant different but it is not significant to the number offlowers and weight for 10 seeds. 5Key words : crossing, genotype soybean, saline soil.2, AnjasmoroxN3

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the response of two soybean varieties growth and yieldon the biofertilizer and NPK compound fertilizer application. The factorial randomized blockdesign was used in this research with three factors i.e. : varety (Anjasmoro and Grobogan),biofertilizer    (0, 50 and 100 kg/ha) and NPK fertilizer (0, 125, and 250 kg/ha). This research wasconducted on the experimental field of North Sumatera University from April to August 2014. Theresults showed that varieties significantly affected the plant height (2, 3, 4 and 6 weeks planted, theleaf greeness level, time of flowering, the time of harvest, the number of productive branches, thenumber of pods per sample, the number of seeds per sample and the dry weight of 100 seeds.Biofertilizer unsignificantly affected on all parametres. The NPK compound fertilizer significantlyaffected the the plant height 5 weeks planted, the leaf greeness level and the number of seeds persample. The interraction between variety and biofertilizer singnificantly affected the time offlowering, however the interraction between variety and NPK fertilizer affected the time of flowering and the number of seeds per sample.Keywords: soybean, variety, biofertilizer and NPK fertilizer.

Abstract

The research was conducted at The Rubber Research Center, Sungei Putih, Galang district, Deli Serdang region, North Sumatera with 54 metre altitude from February to July 2014. The aim of the research was to obtasin the highest potential progeny based on the latex and wood production which crossed in 2009. The parameters observed were: coefficient of covariance, corellation, regression of the selection with 1% and 10% intensity. From the result showed there were 54 progenies 4 years old used as the object. There were 5 progenies obtained in the selection on the latex yield with 10% intensity and 2 progenies with 1% (i.e. no.60: 11,76 g/p/s; no.44: 16,50 g/p/s) whereas in timber progenies there were 4 progenies with 10% selection intensity and 2 progenies (no.43: 1,59 m³/ph and no.99: 0,86 m³/ph) with 1% selection intensity.Keywords : Hevea brassiliensis, hasil persilangan seleksi, progeni.

Abstract

The aims of this research was to evaluate the response of the growth and yield of some mutants (M2) mungbean to water supply of 40% of field capacity. The research was carried out in greenhouse of Agricultural Faculty, University of North Sumatera, Medan, start from December 2013 till March 2014 with eight genotypes, A: is genotype of (F2R0C0), B: is genotype of (M2R1C0),C: is genotype of (M2R1C3), D: is genotype of (M2R2C0), E: is genotype of (M2R2C2), F: is genotype of (M2R3C0), G: is genotype of (M2R3C1), H: is genotype of (M2R3C2), at 40% of Field Capacity by using randomized block design. The treatment was repeated twice. Data were analyzed with ANOVA and continued with LSD. The result of research showed that the mutant genotype B (M2R1C0), E (M2R2C2), and F (M2R3C0) were significantly difference on seed weight per plant, genotype B (M2R1C0) and E (M2R2C2) were significantly difference on 100-seed weight, and genotype E (M2R2C2) was significantly difference on number of pods containingKeywords: Mung bean, mutant (M2), 40% of field capacity.

Abstract

The research aimed to know the influence by the time of application and concentration of paclobutrazol to growth of Sunflower. The research was carried out in the gauze house, Agricultural Faculty of North Sumatera University from September 2013 to January 2014. This research used Split Plot Design with two factors. Main plot was time of application of paclobutrazol consist of three levels: 3 weeks after planting (WAP);4 WAP; 5 WAP. Sub plot was Paclobutrazol concentration consist of four levels are 0 ppm; 50 ppm; 100 ppm; 150 ppm. The parameters in this research were plant height, number of leaf, stem diameter and root length.The results showed that time of application of paclobutrazol has no effect significantly yet to all parameters. Paclobutrazol concentration give effect significantly to plant height and stem diameter on 6 WAP until 11 WAP. While interaction between time of application and concentration of paclobutrazol have no effect significantly yet to all parameters.Keywords: paclobutrazol, sunflower, time of application

Abstract

The objecctive of these research was to study response of Mucuna seedling on planting media from waste oil palm and mycorrhiza. This research conducted at the Silau Dunia, PTPN III, District Dolok Masihul, Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, on October 2014 to January 2015. The design used randomized block design factorial. The first factor was planting media from palm oil waste with composition: (Top Soil+ Sandy soil; Top Soil+ empty fruit bunches+ Fiber; Top Soil+empty fruit bunches+Solid Decanter; Top Soil+empty fruit bunches+Sludge; Top Soil+ Fiber+ Solid Decanter; Top Soil+ Fiber+ Sludge and Top Soil+ Solid Decanter+ Sludge). The second factor was asosiation with Mycorrhizae (micofer aplication and not). The result showed that planting Media Top Soil+ empty fruit bunches+ Sludge can increased Mucuna growth. Mucuna seedling that symbiosis with mycorrhizae can improve all growth parametrs compared without mycorrhiza aplication.Keywords : Cuttings Mucuna, empty fruit bunches, Fiber, Sludge, Solid Decanter, Mycorrhiza

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat respon dari genotipe dan pelukaan stek terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman ubi kayu untuk meningkatkan produktivitas. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Pegajahan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara dari bulan Maret sampai Juni 2015. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah pola RAK dengan petak  utama yaitu genotipe (G) yang terdiri dari Varietas Adira 1, Genotipe Malaysia dan Genotipe Roti. Anak petak yaitu pelukaan stek (K) terdiri dari tanpa kerat, kerat 1, dan kerat 2. Perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe berbeda nyata terhadap parameter diameter batang 8 MST dan 12 MST, namun tidak berbeda nyata pada diameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah ubi kayu, panjang ubi kayu, bobot ubi kayu. Pelukaan stek dan interaksi  tidak berbeda nyata.

Abstract

This research was to study the response of the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) on the aplication of palm oil empty fruit bunches compost and the plant spacing in the lowlands. This research was conducted at the land of citizens in Jl. Pasar I No. 89, Tanjung Sari Village, District of Medan Selayang from May until July 2015, This research used Split Plot Design, as a main plot was the plantspacing (20 cm x 20 cm, 20 cm x 15 cm and 20 cm x 10 cm), as a Sub plot was palm oil empty fruit bunches compost (0 kg, 0.5 kg, 1 kg, 1.5 kg and 2 kg). The results showed that the giving of palm oil empty fruit bunches compost was significantly affected to the fresh weight per sample,the dry weight per sample, fresh weight per plot and dry weight per plot where the best on to gave 1.899 kg/plot could increased the fresh weight per plot was 232 g. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaan fenotipe M3 kacang hijau pada pemberian air 40% kapasitas lapang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan, yang dimulai sejak Februari 2015 sampai dengan April 2015 dengan perlakuan 4 genotipe yaitu A: merupakan genotipe F3R0C0 (varietas Vima-1 sebagai kontrol), D: merupakan genotipe M3R1C3 (turunan ketiga (M3) varietas Vima-1 pada 10 krad pada 40% Kapasitas Lapang), F:  merupakan genotipe M3R2C1 (turunan ketiga (M3) varietas Vima-1 pada 20 krad pada 80% Kapasitas Lapang), I: merupakan genotipe M3R3C0 (turunan ketiga (M3) varietas Vima-1 pada 30 krad pada 100% Kapasitas Lapang) dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang produktif, kandungan klorofil daun, luas daun, umur berbunga, umur panen, jumlah polong berisi, bobot biji, bobot 100 biji, volume akar, bobot kering akar, bobot kering tajuk, dan nisbah bobot kering tajuk-akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe F (M3R2C1) berbeda nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman 2 MST, 3 MST, 4 MST, dan jumlah cabang produktif dan genotipe I (M3R3C0) berbeda nyata terhadap parameter luas daun, volume akar dan umur berbunga sedangkan genotipe A (F3R0C0) berbeda nyata terhadap parameter umur panen.
