Abstract

The research is motivated by the low understanding of students concepts in terms of the percentage of ability on each indicator which is below 50% of each student class V. This research was conducted to find out whether there s an influence of the mind mapping method on students understanding of concepts and to find out how much students understanding conceptual class V has on the use of the mind mapping method in science subjects about changes in the from of objects. The method in this study used a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control grup design. The population in this study class V at SDN Cangkringmalang II. The instrument used in this study was a three-tier multiple choice (TTMC) diagnostic test. Testing the analysis requirements for the normality test using the Kolmogorov smirno technique and homogeneity test. Testing the hypothesis in this study used the t-test and the results obtained were tcound > ttable (5,887 > 1,674) which means the hypothesis (Ha) in this study was accepted. Learning by using the mind mapping method can have an influence on students' understanding of the concept of material changes in class V objects at SDN Cangkringmalang II.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model on students' argumentation skills in science learning at SDN Watesnegoro III. This type of research is an experiment (Pre-Experimental Design) using the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The type of sample used is (non-probability sampling) with a total of 23 students. This research begins by giving a pretest to students to assess students' argumentation abilities before the TGT model is implemented. Furthermore, the researchers applied the TGT learning model to students, then were given a posttest to find out the difference between students' argumentation abilities before and after being given treatment. The results of this study indicate that the TGT model has a positive effect on students' argumentation abilities. This can be proven by the results of testing the hypothesis of the pretest and posttest data using the t-test which shows the result that the value of sig.0.000 means less than a 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). From this explanation it can be seen that the results of the t-test obtained give the results of the hypothesis H0 being rejected and Ha being accepted. The results of the N-Gain test on the pretest and posttest data show an average value of 0.46 which indicates that the effect is quite large and is in the moderate category (46%). It can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the use of the TGT learning model and students' argumentation abilities.

Abstract

Creative thinking is one of the abilities that students must have in developing 21st century skills. By thinking creatively students can develop their thinking skills through ideas, discoveries and thoughts that are useful to them in the learning process. This study aims to describe students’ creative thinking abilities in learning science in class V SDN Wonomlati. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in the study were 25 fifth grade students at SDN Wonomlati. The data collection techniques used were tests, interviews and documentation. Test the validity of the data using technical triangulation. The results showed that the creative thinking skills of fifth grade students at SDN Wonomlati were in the creative criteria. A total of 6 students very creative, 8 students creative, 7 students quite creative, and 4 students less creative. The original thinking indicator with the highest proportion, namely 81% of the indicators for thinking fluently, thinking flexibly and thinking in details. It can be interpreted that fifth grade students at SDN Wonomlati have different creative thinking abilities in learning science.
