Abstract

Statement of the problem in this research was ‘The Representation of Prophetic Messages in Folklore of Tegal Regency’. Long time ago, folklore was used as a medium of communication between parents and their children in teaching Javanese values. Here are some messages and values in every folklore delivered in communities constructed particular character building in every communities. That message has mediated social and transcedental dimensions, it is well known as prophetical ethics which enhance humanization, liberalization, and transcendence. This research was qualitative approach regarding the description. Several studies related to substance of folklore have been conducted by some researchers are Duija (2005), Martinoska (2005), Lukin (2008), Hukantaival (2012), Galieva (2015), Taylor (2003), and Malik (2018).

Abstract

Evaluation of storytelling learning is important to assess the success of speaking learning management. Speaking skills are important for everyday life. This study aims to describe the evaluation of storytelling learning in class VII. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. This learning evaluation will refer to the Goal Oriented Evaluation Model micro-scale evaluation model initiated by Ralph W. Tyler. The subjects of this study were Indonesian language teachers and class VII students at SMP Negeri 33 Makassar totaling 32 people. Data was collected using test and non-test techniques. The data analysis technique used is an interpretive technique. The result of this research is that the storytelling learning program in class VII SMP Negeri 33 Makassar is successful. Thus, it is hoped that the results of this study can be useful in the implementation of storytelling learning in other schools.

Abstract

The novel Percumbuan Topeng by S. Prasetyo Utomo is a novel that contains spiritual values that are reflected in the behavior of its characters. This study aims to analyze the spiritual values of the characters in the novel Percumbuan Topeng by S. Prasetyo Utomo, to explain the forms of needs that influence the spiritual values of the characters in the novel Percumbuan Topeng by S. Prasetyo Utomo and to explain the relevance of spiritual values in the novel Percumbuan Topeng by S. Prasetyo Utomo to literature learning in high school. This study uses a content analysis model (content analysis). The steps taken are to review documents, record data, and classify or group data that contains spiritual values. Based on the results of data analysis, spiritual values were found in the novel Percumbuan Topeng including the values of patience, caring, obeying parents, calm, grateful, simple, diligent, honest, sincere, sincerity, steadfastness, religious, having a sense of trust, patience, daring to admit mistakes, being obedient in worship, enthusiasm, simplicity, and loyalty. The results of the study indicate that there are spiritual values that are useful in learning literature to instill attitudes that can be emulated by students in everyday life.
