Abstract

Rice is indonesian agriculture major crop. Indonesian rice historically has been the primary staple food and is an important economic driver and cultural symbol. On the basis of Sragen regency is one of the major rice producer in Central Java. This research aims to determine the level of private and social profi tability and competitiveness of rice farming in Sragen regency. Policy analysis matrix (PAM) is the approach used to determine the level of profitability and competitiveness of rice farming in Sragen Regency. Sampling conducted by Simple Random Sampling of the 20 districts in Sragen which are rice production area. The results show that the value of profi t for private and social is IDR 9.989.911,16 and IDR 4.273.004,18 respectively. Rice farming in Sragen Regency is profi table and feasible to cultivate. Two indicators to measure the competitiveness were Private Cost Ratio (PCR) which later shows that rice farming in Sragen Regency is more competitive as the PCR < 1, and Domestic Resources Cost Ratio (DRCR) shows that the rice farming has a comparative advantage as the DRCR < 1.

Abstract

Indonesian government is currently implementing regional development emphasizing on the characteristic and potential strength of each region. This program will be more optimal if conducted based on the introduction of the leading potential along with its use by maintaining the environmental sustainability. This research is aimed to (1) identify the basis/leading and non-basis/non-leading of agricultural sub-sector and its commodities; (2) to classify the pattern of sub-sector growth and agricultural commodities. The data used was time series consisting of secondary data from Anambas Islands Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in accordance with the basic constant price in 2010 and the production value data of agricultural commodity during 2010-2015. The data analysis by Location Quotient (LQ) and Typology Klassen method. The analysis result shows that the sub-sectors of food crops, plantation, and fishery are the basis sub-sector (LQ > 1). The commodities of wetland paddy, sweet potato, mustard, water spinach, spinach, pineapple, banana, coconut, clove, cow (cattle) and kampong chicken are the basic commodities (LQ > 1). According to the analysis of Klassen Typology, the sub-sectors of food crops and plantation crops are included in leading and fast-growing classification (rik  > riand Yik> Yi), while the commodities of wetland paddy, sweet potato, mustard, spinach, and coconut are included in the leading and fast-growing commodities.

Abstract

Melinjo chip is one of the typical foods in Yogyakarta made of melinjo nuts. The production center of melinjo chip is located in Banguntapan and Pajangan Sub Districts, Bantul District. The purpose of this study is to determine the efficiency of the supply chain measured with transportation model analysis. The number of respondents in this research was 50 producers of melinjo chip in Bantul District, taken by simple random sampling method. While the snawball sampling method was used to get 5 (five) collector traders, 5 (five) large traders and 26 (twenty six) melinjo chip retailers that taken by following melinjo chip sales distribution from the producer to Market of Piyungan, Demangan, Kotagede, Sentul, Beringharjo, Bantul, Legi, and Magelang. The supply chain actors of melinjo chip are melinjo farmers, melinjo chip producers, collecting traders, large traders, retailers, consumers, packaging producers, production workers, haulers, and firewood providers. The analysis of transportation model with minimum cost illustrates that Wirokerten Village from Banguntapan Sub District allocate the production of melinjo chip to Market of Beringharjo and Piyungan, while Potorono Village allocates the to Market of Demangan. Sendangsari and Triwidadi Village from Pajangan Sub District allocate the production of melinjo chip to Market of Beringharjo, while Guwosari Village allocates to Market of Beringharjo, Bantul, and Legi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the leading commodities of livestock subsector in Riau Islands Province and to find out its growth structure. Location quotient (LQ), dynamic location quotient (DLQ), Klassen Typology (KT) and shift-share analysis (SSA) were applied in the analysis. The results at the subsector level shows that livestock becomes the leading subsector of agriculture in Riau Islands Province. At the commodity level, the livestock commodities used as research objects are selected based on relatively dominant production in Riau Islands Province, so it is expected to meet the representation in subsector. The selected commodities are: pig, broiler, cattle, goat, duck and egg of layer chicken. Pigs are the leading commodity in the livestock subsector in the Riau Islands Province. The growth structure of the livestock subsector is entirely positive in the economy. Livestock subsector has become the biggest contributor of GDP growth in agriculture sector in Riau Islands Province. All growth components of this subsector are positive and categorized in quadrant I (rapid growth) Klassen Typology. Likewise at the commodity level, the growth structure of leading commodities (pigs) are the same as the subsector level.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) acknowledge the application level of the individual factor and work environment to the employee of the coconut shell briquette small business in Bangunharjo Village, Bantul Regency, (2) acknowledge the performance level of the employee of the coconut shell briquette small business in Bangunharjo Village, Bantul Regency, (3) acknowledge the effectiveness of the individual factor and work environment toward the employee’s performance of the coconut shell briquette small business in Bangunharjo Village, Bantul Regency. The location and the sample of the research are determined in purpose based on the certain consideration and criteria through a case study. The method used in this study comprises of two independent variables and one dependent variable. The number of respondent taken are 31 people consisting of business owner and employee. The questionnaire technique being used is questionnaire with likert scale measurement 1-5 from attitude strongly disagree to strongly agree, assisted Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) program version 24 in order to obtain the descriptive data analysis, the correlation of person product moment, and double linear regression with 5% significancy range. The result of the analysis reveals: (1) the level of application of individual factors and the work environment for employees are in a good category; (2) the measurement through the employee's performance is good; (3) Individual factor and work environment both have a significant positive effect on employee's performance, this is proven by the discovery of adjusted R squared value that is 0.727 on the determination coefficient.

Abstract

Bio-slurry is the residual product of biogas processing waste through the decomposition process without oxygen (anaerobic). Bio-slurry can be used as organic fertilizer for agricultural land. This study aims to: 1) assess the value of willingness to pay (WTP) for bio-slurry fertilizer, 2) find factors affecting farmer’s willingness to pay (WTP) of bio-slurry fertilizer. The research was carried out from January to February 2020 in Central Java. Determination of the location is purposive based on the farmers in Magelang and Demak Regency that have utilized biogas waste to be organic fertilizer and had been commercialized. Primary data were obtained from 80 farmers using purposive sampling, with the aid of questionnaire. Data analysis using contingent value method (CVM) to evaluate the farmer’s willingness to pay and logistic regression to analyze its determinant factors. The result showed that farmer’s willingness to pay (WTP) rate of bio-slurry fertilizer was IDR. 937,5/kg, which was above the market price. The determinant factors are farm income, education, price, and experience using organic fertilizer positively related to farmers’ willingness to pay bio-slurry fertilizer whereas land area negatively related to farmers’ willingness to pay bio-slurry fertilizer. The value of willingness to pay show the opportunity for bio-slurry fertilizer to survive in market by taking into account continuity of production and quality.
