Abstract

Abstract

Have been made 3 (three) glaze formula with Sidoarjo mud, Pecatu lime and Lodoyo felspar as the component. The glazes are compatible applied to stoneware bodies because the mature temperature is so similar with the sintering temperature of stoneware bodies. These glazes have started to mature after fired at 1240oC and not yet destroyed at 1280oC. The glazes are melting enough, theirs color are yellow, greenish and yellow with red spot with smooth surface. The first glaze (coded by LS - 1) which made by mixture 40 % (w) Sidoarjo mud, 15 % (w) Pecatu lime and 45 % (w) Lodoyo feldspar give yellow slight gloss glaze. The second glaze (coded by LS – 2) which have formula 40 % (w) Sidoarjo mud, 25 % (w) Pecatu lime and 35 % (w) Lodoyo feldspar is greenish semi gloss glaze. The last one (coded by LS – 3) which made by mixture of 50 % (w) Sidoarjo mud, 20 % (w) Pecatu lime and 30 % (w) Lodoyo feldspar give dop glaze with unique texture.

Abstract

Superconductors system BPSCCO 1212 phase have been synthesized by solid state reaction with melting methods. The schedules: calcining at 9000C during 10 h, making of pellet, melting at 10100C for 0.1 h, cooling (cooling rate 350C/h) to 9800C, and sintering at 9800C during 5, 10, 20, and 30 h. From measurement of XRD, all of the sample has showed to be formed of Bi-1212 phase. The highest volume fraction reach 91,23 % given by sample which is sintering at 9800C during 10 h. The spectrum pattern show reflection of its 00l extremely high intensity, showing the existence highly textured which as according to the typical behaviour for materials with the c-axis lying normal to the surface plane. The resistivity as function of temperature, that sample not yet shown the existence of Tc0, not yet had the superconducting properties at temperature above 77 K. The SEM shows morphology of surface, showing the existence of the stacking of plate-like. Analyse EDX at some spots observation, show elements distribution of Bi, Pb, Sr, Y, Ca and Cu nearly homogenous, and its ratio of the spots on grain have been nearly the composition of 1212 phase.

Abstract

Superconductor Y-247 (Y2Ba4Cu7O15-?) with adding silver (Ag) by using the wet-mixing method has been done. The synthesis process was carried out by calcination at 600o C for 3 hours and sintered at 925o C for 10 hours. Variations in the increase in the addition of Ag used were Ag0.05, Ag0.1, Ag0.15 and Ag0.2. Characterization of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), showed an increase in the addition of Ag resulting in a decrease in the volume fraction, where the volume fractions obtained consecutive were 55.0%, 51.3%, 50.9% and 46.3%. Increasing the addition of Ag results in an increase in the lattice parameter values in the direction of the a axis which is 3.8247 Å, 3.8291 Å, 3.8292 Å, 3.8293 Å, decreasing the lattice parameter values in the b axis direction which is 3.8426 Å, 3.8415 Å, 3.8409 Å, 3.8383 Å and decreasing the lattice parameter values in the direction of the c axis are 49.2174 Å, 49.2022 Å, 49.1881 Å, 49.1761 Å. Analysis of the results of the characterization of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), the particle size obtained was 225.47 nm, 202.88 nm, 190.68 nm and 172.22 nm.

Abstract

The sintering temperature is played a vital role in the evolution of phase structure, microstructure, and the properties of the superconductor. In this study, the Gd0.9La0.1Ba1.95Sr0.05Cu3O7-d phase compound has been synthesized by the wet method using HNO3 as a solvent. The samples were divided into two groups. The first sample was calcined at 400 °C for 2 hours + 500 °C for 2 hours + 600 °C for 6 hours. The second sample treated by the same process and then continued by heating at 900 °C for 15 minutes. The effect of the calcination temperature for the synthesis of Gd0.9La0.1Ba1.95Sr0.05Cu3O7-d bulks was investigated using the DTA-TG method. The results showed that the optimum reaction temperature for the formation of Gd0.9La0.1Ba1.95Sr0.05Cu3O7-d phase was 938 °C. The additional heating temperature e.g. 900 °C for 15 minutes on the calcination process can reduce the optimum formation temperature of Gd0.9La0.1Ba1.95Sr0.05Cu3O7-d compounds by 20 °C. The peritectic melting reaction temperatures of the sample without the addition of heating and with the addition of heating at temperature 900 °C for 15 minutes are 1032°C and 1035°C, respectively. The melting temperatures of both samples are 1164 °C and 1200 °C.

Abstract

Has conducted research related to the addition of Nd on formation 2212 phase of superconductor system BPSCCO : (Bi1.63Pb0.37) Sr1.6Ca2.25Cu3.15Oy + Ndx. The samples prepared by solid state reaction method with sintering temperature of 830 oC for 27 hours. XRD measurements revealed that the samples have shown the formation (Bi, Pb)-2212 phase with a good crystalinity (FWHM < 0.250). Provided that the volume fraction of (Bi, Pb)-2212 phase formed increases with increasing of addition of Nd. The highest volume fraction of 94.11% was obtained on the sample with the fraction of x = 0.050. The measurements of resistivity as a function of temperature with 4-point electrode method revealed that the samples have not shown the Tco, but it have shown Tcon-set ~ 81K. The addition of Nd does not have a significant influence on the Tcon-set.

Abstract

It has been investigated the effect of firing temperature on water absorption and flexural strength in the manufacture of BL1P code stoneware ceramics. Ceramics are made in the form the test block bar with materials from of Borneo Clay Noodle, PRC Feldspar, Kaolin Belitung, Belitung Quartz, Ballclay Bantur, Bentonite, and Talk with a simple casting method. The block bar of the molds was burned at four temperature variations, i.e. 850, 900, 1000, and 1200 oC. From the results of measurements of it water absorption, it was found that the increase in firing temperature from 850 oC to 1200 oC showed a decrease in water absorption from 18.3% to 5.5%, while the measurement of it flexural strength showed an increase in flexural strength of 11.6 kg/cm2 to 19.8 kg/cm2.
