Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Kalongan, Kecamatan Ungaran Timur, Kabupaten Semarang. Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji perlakuan jarak tanam rumput gajah odot dan waktu tanam kacang tanah serta interaksi perlakuan terhadap penampilan rumput gajah odot dan kacang tanah. Analisis karakteristik tanah dan tanaman dilakukan di Laboratorium Ekologi dan Produksi Tanaman, Departemen Pertanian, Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang dari bulan September 2020 sampai Februari 2021. Percobaan faktorial 2 x 4 dengan rancangan acak kelompok, 3 kelompok ulangan digunakan dalam penelitian. Faktor pertama jarak tanam rumput gajah odot terdiri dari J1 : 90 cm x 60 cm, dan J2 : 90 cm x 45 cm. Faktor kedua waktu tanam kacang tanah terdiri dari T1 : 2 minggu sebelum potong paksa, T2 : 1 minggu sebelum potong paksa, T3 : pada saat potong paksa, dan T4 : 1 minggu setelah potong paksa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan analisis varian dan selanjutnya diuji menggunakan uji Duncan taraf kepercayaan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi rumput gajah odot pada sistem tumpangsari dengan kacang tanah tidak dipengaruhi oleh jarak tanam rumput gajah odot dan waktu tanam kacang tanah. Produksi total kacang tanah tidak dipengaruhi jarak tanam rumput gajah odot, tetapi waktu tanam kacang tanah berpengaruh terhadap produksi total kacang tanah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa budidaya rumput gajah odot dengan kacang tanah dalam sistem tumpangsari dapat dilakukan dengan memperhatikan jarak dan waktu tanam.

Abstract

The experiment was aimed to determine the effect of combination dosage organic fertilizer with compound fertilizer and dosage husk charcoal, also the interaction both of treatment on the growth and production of hybrid cayenne pepper. A completely randomized factorial design (4x6) with 3 replications was used throughout the experiment. The first factor was dosage husk charcoal (A) namely A0 = control, A1 = 40 g husk charcoal/8 kg soil, A2 = 80 g husk charcoal/8 kg soil, A3 = 120 g husk charcoal/8 kg soil. The second factor was combination dosage of organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer (B) namely B0 = control, B1 = 100% organic fertilizer, B2 = 75% organic fertilizer + 25% compound fertilizer, B3 = 50% organic fertilizer + 50% compound fertilizer, B4 = 25% organic fertilizer + 75% compound fertilizer dan B5 = 100% compound fertilizer. Parameters observed were plant height, total number of fruits per plant, total weight of fruits per plant, fresh weight per plant, harvest index. Collected data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan Test was employed for further analysis. Experiment showed that application of combination dosage organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer was significantly affected the observed parameters. Application of 25% organic fertilizer + 75% compound fertilizer and the use of 120 g husk charcoal/8 kg soil gave good result on growth and production of cayenne pepper. Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the treatment of purple sweet potato spacing and elephant grass cv. Odot (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) spacing on the production of purple sweet potato and elephant grass cv. Odot. Field experiment was conducted in Kalongan Village, East Ungaran Sub-district, Semarang District (7o08’27”-7o15’72”Sand 110o40’88”-110o.48’14” E). Analysis of soil, fertilizer and dry matter of purple sweet potato and elephant grass cv. Odot were carried out at the Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang from March to August 2021. A 2 x 4 factorial experiment based a randomized block design with 3 replications was used throughout the experiment. The first factor was the spacing of purple sweet potatoes consisted of V1: 90 cm x 30 cm, V2: 90 cm x 40 cm, V3: 90 cm x 50 cm and V4: 90 cm x 60 cm. The second factor was the spacing of elephant grass cv. Odot, namely T1: 90 x 60 cm and T2: 90 x 45 cm. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and significantly different parameters were tested by Duncan's Multiple Distance Test at 5% level. The results showed that the spacing of purple sweet potato and spacing of elephant grass cv. Odot had no significant effect on the production of purple sweet potato but had a significant effect on the production of elephant grass cv. Odot. Based on the results of the competition index, it was concluded that the purple sweet potato plant was more dominant than the elephant grass cv.
