Abstract

The STEM-based electronic module is a systematic presentation of learning materials to support students' independence with an approach in four fields of knowledge: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This study aims to describe the feasibility of this STEM-based electronic module to train students' creativity. The specific objectives of this study are to describe: (1) The validity of the STEM-based electronic physics module; and (2) The practicality of the STEM-based physics electronic module. The type of research was ADDIE, with the subject of the trial of 27 students at class X Science-1 in a public high school in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Data collection was obtained from observations, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. This research was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The research results showed that: (1) the validity of the STEM-based electronic physics module was in a "very good" category, and (2) The practicality based on the implementation of the Lesson plan was categorized as "moderately practical". The existing STEM-based electronic physics modules (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to train students' creativity are still not suitable for learning. So, it can be concluded that the STEM-based physics electronic module is feasible to train students' creativity, and the direct result of this research was that educators could evaluate methods and media that support online learning more effectively for each meeting, and the results of this study can be used as input for teachers and teacher candidates. The next step of this research is to apply methods, learning models that support STEM and sufficient time to train students' creativity which is expected to be applied to face-to-face learning.

Abstract

Preliminary observations show the limitations of teaching materials that have a relationship with spiritual aspects, especially the Qur'an, which is due to the limitations of teaching materials that contain these aspects. Required learning that stimulates students to generalize religious aspects and learn physics. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the feasibility of physics teaching materials containing the Qur'an by using a generative model on sound wave material. This study aims to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the teaching materials developed. The research was conducted on 33 students at class XI MIPA 1 MAN 2 Model Banjarmasin using the ADDIE model. Data was taken from the validation results of teaching materials using validation sheet, lesson plan implementation using lesson plan implementation sheet, and students' learning outcomes at the pretest and post-test using learning outcomes tests. The results of this study were 1) the validity of the teaching materials was in the "valid" category with a value of 3.33, 2) the practicality of the teaching materials was in the "very practical" category with a value of 3.63, and 3) the effectiveness of the teaching material was in the "effective/moderate" category with a value of 0,44. This study concluded that physics teaching materials containing Al-Qur'an verses on sound wave materials using generative learning models are declared feasible to be used based on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the teaching materials. The implication of this research is the creation of teaching materials containing the Qur'an that are used in schools and creating student habits to link physics and the Qur'an.

Abstract

This service activity aims to improve the understanding and ability of physics teachers in the Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency regarding the preparation of Classroom Action Research (CAR) proposals. Participants involved in this community service activity were members of the Physics Teachers Meeting (MGMP) physics at Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. The stages carried out in this service consist of two steps, namely the delivery of material and the practice of preparing a CAR proposal. The material presented is the basic concept of CAR and analysis of learning problems, CAR methodology, analyzing data and interpretation of results, and designing CAR proposals using the lecture method. The result of this dedication is the increasing understanding and ability of teachers regarding the preparation of PTK proposals. The results of these community service activities can be used as teacher input to improve teacher professional competence by conducting CAR.
