<![CDATA[The increase in number of fishing fleet units at Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Lampulo (PPS Lampulo) has an impact on fishing material supplies such as the ice fishing supplies. So far, the fishermen in PPS Lampulo have been preserving conventionally the fish with block ices. This study aims to provide information on the number of ice demand, ice supply and the mechanism of ice distribution for fishing activities, in order to definitely find out the the ice demand and ice supply in PPS Lampulo. This research was conducted on July to August 2017 at Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Lampulo (PPS Lampulo). The research method used in this study is observation/ direct observation of the object to be studied by spreading the questionnaires to the respondents selected on purposive sampling. The respondents are consisted of port parties (2 persons), ice factory parties (2 persons), boat owners/ boatmen/ fishermen (75 persons). The result shows that the ice demand for fishing operation in PPS Lampulo is 7.781,1 tons equals to 129.685 block ices/ month. There are 1.899 tons equals to 30.600 block ices/ month produced by Karya Nusa Jaya Ice Factory and PT. Aceh Lampulo Jaya Bahari in PPS Lampulo. Both of the ice factories productions are lack of supply in number because the higher demand for fishing, therefore, the others factories from the outside of the port area take a part. The number of insufficient block ices demand distributed by the ice factories from the outside of the port area is 5.882,1 tons/ month. The block ices needs for the 5 GT boat are not measured because most of the fishermen do not carry the block ice supplies, therefore, the lack supply in number of block ices are 5.838,6/ month. The mechanism of block ices distribution at PPS Lampulo is distributed on time and right in number. The role of ice distributors is very helpful in distributing so that the fishermen do not have to come directly to the ice factory to make an order. The problem in ordering block ices is only on certain days such as after Idul Fitri holidays or when all of the boats are tethered in the port that makes the fishermen have to queue.Keywords: Ice demand, ice supply, PPS Lampulo. Peningkatan jumlah unit armada penangkapan yang ada di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Lampulo berdampak pada bahan perbekalan untuk melaut, salah satunya perbekalan es. Selama ini nelayan yang ada di PPS Lampulo mengawetkan hasil tangkapannya masih dengan cara yang konvensional yaitu menggunakan es balok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai jumlah kebutuhan dan penyediaan es serta mekanisme pendistribusian es untuk keperluan penangkapan ikan, agar kebutuhan dan penyediaan es di PPS Lampulo diketahui secara pasti.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2017 yang berlokasi di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Lampulo.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi/pengamatan langsung terhadap objek yang ingin diteliti dengan penyebaran kuesioner kepada para responden secara purposive sampling. Responden terdiri dari pihak pelabuhan perikanan (2 orang), pihak pabrik es (2 orang), pemilik kapal/ pengurus kapal/ nelayan (75 orang). Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa perbekalan es yang dibutuhkan untuk operasi penangkapan ikan di PPS Lampulo sebanyak 7.781,1 ton atau sekitar 129.685 batang es/bulan. Produksi es yang ada di PPS Lampulo sebanyak 1.899 ton atau sekitar 30.600 batang/bulan, produksi es disediakan oleh pabrik es Karya Nusa Jaya dan PT. Aceh Lampulo Jaya Bahari. Penyediaan oleh kedua pabrik es yang berada di PPS Lampulo masih terbilang kurang karena kebutuhan untuk perbekalan melaut yang begitu besar sehingga pendistribusian dilakukan oleh pabrik es yang berada di luar area pelabuhan.Jumlah kebutuhan es ditutupi kekurangannya melalui pendistribusian yang dilakukan oleh pabrik es yang berada di luar pelabuhan sebanyak 5.882,1 ton/bulan.Apabila kebutuhan es dengan kapal ukuran 5 GT tidak dihitung dikarenakan banyak nelayan yang tidak membawa perbekalan es maka kekurangannya sebanyak 5.838,6 ton/bulan.Mekanisme pendistribusian es ke kapal yang ada di PPS Lampulo tepat waktu dan tepat jumlah.Peran agen es sangat membantu dalam pendistribusian sehingga para nelayan tidak perlu datang langsung ke pabrik es untuk memesan.Permasalahan untuk pemesanan es hanya pada hari tertentu seperti setelah hari raya idul fitri atau pada saat semua kapal bertambat di pelabuhan yang membuat para nelayan harus antri.Kata Kunci: Kebutuhan es, penyediaan es, PPS Lampulo.]]>
