Abstract

Joining university for the first time is a challenging phase for first-year students. They are required to adapt not only to the academic context but to their personal, social, and emotional condition. The dynamics of college present a variety of challenges that arise as a result of the transition from high school to college. This study aims to analyze college adjustment of first-year students and the obstacles that arise from the academic, social, personal, and institutional dimensions. This study used mixed-method research. The sample was consisted of 235 first-year students of Al Azhar University (73.9% women) and filled out the Student Adaptation to College questionnaire. Qualitative data used purposive sampling to deepen the constraints felt by students in their first year. Semi structure interviews were conducted with 12 respondents to examine their experiences toward the first year of college. The results showed that 44.7% of first-year students had a low college adjustment level. Content analysis reveals that first-year students experienced varied academic, social, personal, and institutional problems. Therefore, the first-year student adapting process still needs attention from stakeholders.

Abstract

The results of a survey by the Indonesian Psychology Student Association (ILMPI) show that students still do not understand the meaning of mental health services. Meanwhile, the results of the 2018 Basic Health Research stated that handling mental health is as important as physical health. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to get a picture of the attitudes of students in seeking psychological assistance in colleges. This mixed methods research was conducted at the University of Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI). Quantitative data was collected using a questionnaire on the attitude of seeking professional psychological assistance to 180 students, while the qualitative data were obtained using semi-open interviews with 12 students via telephone. The results showed that the students’ attitudes tended to be neutral in seeking psychological help; students are even less familiar with the existence of psychological services and have a negative stigma against psychological services, and the psychological service campaign that has been carried out is ineffective. In order to create students who are healthy physically and mentally, therefore, this article suggests some points. First, as mandated by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2014 concerning Mental Health, derivative regulations must be made at the level of ministerial regulation which mandates that universities should develop a strategy for the implementation of sustainable, implementative, comprehensive, and integrated youth psychological service units in universities. Second, Commission X DPR RI should oversee the process of forming these derivative regulations and supervise their implementation.  AbstrakHasil survei Ikatan Lembaga Mahasiswa Psikologi Indonesia (ILMPI) menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa masih tidak memahami maksud dari layanan kesehatan mental. Sementara hasil Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2018 menyatakan bahwa penanganan kesehatan mental sama pentingnya dengan kesehatan fisik. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang sikap mahasiswa dalam mencari bantuan psikologis pada perguruan tinggi. Penelitian mixed method ini dilakukan di Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia (UAI). Pengumpulan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner Attitude Toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help terhadap 180 orang mahasiswa, sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh menggunakan wawancara dengan format semi terbuka terhadap 12 orang mahasiswa via telepon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap mahasiswa cenderung netral dalam mencari bantuan psikologis; mahasiswa bahkan kurang familiar dengan keberadaan layanan psikologis, dan memiliki stigma negatif terhadap layanan psikologis; dan belum efektifnya kampanye layanan psikologis yang telah dilakukan. Demi tercapainya mahasiswa yang sehat fisik dan mental maka artikel ini menyarankan beberapa hal. Pertama, amanat Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 18 tahun 2014 tentang Kesehatan Jiwa harus dibuatkan peraturan turunan pada tingkat penyelenggaraan universitas melalui peraturan menteri yang menangani pendidikan tinggi, yang di dalamnya mengamanatkan agar universitas menyusun strategi penyelenggaraan unit layanan psikologis remaja yang berkesinambungan, implementatif, komprehensif, dan terintegrasi dengan sumber-sumber dukungan yang dimiliki oleh perguruan tinggi. Kedua, Komisi X DPR RI sebaiknya mengawal proses pembentukan aturan turunan tersebut dan mengawasi pelaksanaannya.

Abstract

Early childhood needs to optimize various aspects of their development. One of them is the language aspect, the language skills of children can be seen from the way they communicate with other people. This needs to be supported by its vocabulary. At the age of 3-4 years, the average child knows 800 words, but still speaks in short sentences. If there is something complex to talk about, he will reveal it in two or three sentences. Currently, there are various kinds of game tools that are obtained by children, through educational play tools PEMA (children's play educational board) it is hoped that children can help children in acquiring vocabulary. The skill developed is the concept of printed letters. Children have the opportunity to interact with printed letters. Learn to recognize letters to achieve early reading skills for children. This study uses action research conducted on children aged 3-4 years. This study began by conducting a pre-test for the 5 children. Furthermore, parents document the use of PEMA media. The third is reflection of observation, reflection of documentation is interpreted in order to plan improvements that will be carried out in the next cycle. Activities are carried out repeatedly until the most appropriate one is found for each child. Abstract

Kampus Mengajar as a part of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy is seen as an effort to advance and promote education quality. This study aims to provide a description of the extent to which the Kampus Mengajar program contributes to the skills of providing counseling and guidance services at the elementary school level. Using descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling to recruit respondents with the criteria of Islamic Counseling Guidance study program students who participate the Kampus Mengajar program batch I and 2 (n = 9). The data analysis technique uses theme analysis. Results found additional skills that respondents acquired during the assignment of the Kampus Mengajar program is communication skills, open learning skills, report cards building skills, observation skills, and increased ability to empathize. The results of the study also show that in practice the Teaching Campus program provides space to practice the skills of implementing guidance and counseling services in primary schools.Keywords - Guidance and counseling, Kampus mengajar, Primary school.

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of daily-paid worker mother’s assistance on the academic stress level of primary school online learning. Using a quantitative approach, the measuring instruments used are Academic Stress Level Scale and Mother Assistance Scale. Test data were analyzed with a simple regression. The research sample was 56 students in grades 5-6 SD in Kasih Ibu La Tansa foundation, South Jakarta, Indonesia. The results showed that the coefficient of determination is -0.647 which indicated that there was a negative effect of daily-paid worker mother’s assistance on the academic stress level of primary school student online learning and the R square number is 0.418 which indicated that the contribution of mother’s assistance had a significant effect of 41.8% on the academic stress level of online learning elementary school students. So that mothers need to accompany their children in online learning. School counselor and homeroom teachers should provide stress management skills in accordance with the developmental stages of elementary school students.

Abstract

The background behind this community service is caused of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic which has mad face-to-face lessons in schools become online learning and places learning Al-Qur’an are recently closed. This caused the children in scavenger stalls, West Jakarta to lose their places to learn especially in learning AL-Qur’an. So MAKAKO (Mengaji Kala Korona) present to be a place where children can learn Al-Qur’an and increase self-awareness with classical guidance programs. The program is carried out with an online system, using Voice Call and Video Calls as the medium The results of the activity are the children will show on paper and then they will send photos and presentation videos. The MAKAKO program has succeeded in being place for children to continue learning Al-Qur’an and increase self-awareness based on three-component references; Emotional Self -Awareness, Accurate Self-Awareness, and Self-Confident.

Abstract

Pandemi membawa banyak pengaruh terhadap tatanan hidup, termasuk kesehatan mental remaja. Selama pandemi, kegiatan sekolah dari rumah juga ternyata memiliki dampak negatif bagi psikologis remaja, mengingat kebutuhan remaja awal untuk berinteraksi dengan teman sebayanya menjadi terbatas. Kondisi kesehatan mental juga mempengaruhi proses belajar remaja. Oleh karenanya, dukungan psikososial untuk remaja menjadi penting agar remaja memiliki resiliensi selama masa endemi ini. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan peserta didik meningkat dalam mengidentifikasi sumber dukungan yang diperlukan dan dapat mengidentifikasi pihak-pihak yang dapat membantunya dalam menangani masalah menjadi lebih efektif. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini sebaiknya diwujudkan dalam bentuk program dukungan psikologis awal yang berkelanjutan dengan siswa sebagai pelaku utama untuk memberikan dukungan kepada teman sebayanya di SMPNN 247 dan dibimbing oleh guru BK.Kata kunci: E-Support, Konseling Sebaya, Psikososial, Remaja

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of peer counseling on santri' self-acceptance at MA TEI Multazam. There are problems regarding self-acceptance at MA TEI Multazam which are characterized by lower self-esteem, feeling inferior to friends, having difficulty opening up with others, complaining and having tendency to change physical conditions. Using the pre-experimental method, the measurement tool used is a Self-acceptance Scale (n=33) with guidelines for observation and peer counseling interventions. Peer counseling is carried out by selecting peer counselors, conducting peer counselor training with psychological first aid framework (look-listen-link), and implementing peer counseling that focused on basic counseling skill. Pre-test and post-test were carried out to measure changes in the subject's attitude before and after the intervention. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in self-acceptance of 20.375 with sig 0.000 <0.05. The results show that peer counseling is effective in increasing santri' self-acceptance.

As an education system that becomes a new choice, the implementation of inclusive education still faces many challenges. This research was conducted due to the limited research on school climate with parents' perspective about inclusion at the micro level in Kota Depok. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of parents' perception about school climate toward school sastisfaction in Kota Depok. This quantitative correlational study involve 72 parents who had special needs children who attend inclusive public and private school. Parents completed two self-report questionnaires: Parental Perception of Inclusion Climate Scale and Satisfaction of School Inclusion Survey. The results show there are significant differences regarding satisfaction, with parents from private school tend to more satisfied about inclusive that parents from public school. A regression analysis was performed and confirmed that parents perception about school climate were predictors of parents satisfaction about inclusive school. These finding provide insight that the main consideration for satisfaction according to parents is the support provided by all school staff and teachers. Stakeholders can consider providing understanding to all school stakeholders about the importance of support, both instrumental and emotional.
