Abstract

Bin Packing Problem (BPP) is a problem that aims to minimize the number of container usage by maximizing its contents. BPP can be applied to a case, such as maximizing the printing of a number of stickers on a sheet of paper of a certain size. Genetic Algorithm is one way to overcome BPP problems. Examples of the use of a combination of BPP and Genetic Algorithms are applied to printed paper in Digital Printing companies. Genetic Algorithms adopt evolutionary characteristics, such as selection, crossover and mutation. Repeatedly, Genetic Algorithms produce individuals who represent solutions. However, this algorithm often does not achieve maximum results because it is trapped in a local search and a case of premature convergence. The best results obtained are not comprehensive, so it is necessary to modify the parameters to improve this condition. Random Crossover and Dynamic Mutation were chosen to improve the performance of Genetic Algorithms. With this application, the performance of the Genetic Algorithm in the case of BPP can overcome premature convergence and maximize the allocation of printing and the use of paper. The test results show that an average of 99 stickers can be loaded on A3 + size paper and the best generation is obtained on average in the 21st generation and the remaining space is 3,500mm2.

Abstract

Some institutions in Indonesia has banned the use of social networking systems at the office either by enacting legislation or blocking network access. Social networking system has encouraged the use of technology far beyond office systems have been developed. Utilization of electronic communications concepts such as knowledge exchange, groupware, collaboration and so forth have been used effectively and efficiently on systems of social networks in the form of group communication facilities of friends, ideas and developing ideas together. Based on the above, companies need to adapt and develop strategies that take into accountthe risks and benefits of the use of social media sites in office hours. Abstract

Selection of the best employees is an important aspect, because it provides useful information for making human resources (HR) decisions such as promotions, training, bonuses, and other decisions. In addition, it is also important for the chairman of the board to formulate a mature policy to motivate employees. The obstacle to selecting the best employee at the Surya Kencana Savings and Loans Cooperative was that there was no selection of the best employee beforehand, so the chairman of the Cooperative management did not know the performance of his employees. The AHP method aims to get the weight value of each criterion. Then the SAW method which aims to classify values for each alternative based on predetermined criteria is used in the development of a decision support system. This study assesses the performance of the employees of the lending division at the Surya Kencana Savings and Loans Cooperative. By using the calculation of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) methods, it will produce a performance value for each employee, so that the head of the cooperative can determine the best alternative, namely employees in the lending division. This research will produce a decision support system (SPK) that can recommend the best employees in the lending division of the Surya Kencana Savings and Loans Cooperative based on predetermined criteria such as attendance, targets, discipline, and collaboration with the AHP and SAW methods
