Abstract

Abstract: The research was aimed to know the effect of the social media on student social skills. The study conducted using quantitative and based on its nature is ex-post facto research. The location of research at SMP 2 Sungguminasa. Population in this research that is all students of class IX who used smartphones and social media every day as much 90 students. Sampling technique using proportionate random sampling with sample amounted to 90 students. Collecting data using questionnaires, for collecting data social media and social skills. Data analysis techniques using simple linear regression. The results of questionnaire data processing were distributed to 90 students, but there were only 1 outlier that mean only 89 respondents, obtained a significance level of 0,000 (<0,05), so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accept, mean that there influence of social media on student social skills. The result of research shows a coefficient of determination R2 = 0.760, mean that 76% of social skill is influenced by social media, while the rest by other variables.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media sosial terhadap keterampilan sosial murid. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, berdasarkan sifatnya merupakan penelitian ex-post facto. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di SMPN 2 Sungguminasa. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh murid kelas IX yang menggunakan smartphone dan media sosial setiap hari yang berjumlah 90. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan proportionate random sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 90. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, untuk pengumpulan data media sosial dan keterampilan sosial. Analisis data yang digunakan, yakni regresi linier sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 90 orang, tetapi terdapat 1 outlier sehingga hanya tersisa 89 sampel, diperoleh taraf signifikansi 0,000 (<0,05), maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh media sosial terhadap keterampilan sosial murid. Hasil koefisien determinasi R2 sebesar 0,760, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa 76% keterampilan sosial dipengaruhi oleh media sosial, sedangkan sisanya merupakan pengaruh variabel lain.
