Abstract

ABSTRACTIndragiri River has high biological resources as necton, gastropods, plankton and the others. There are activities antropogenic can affect the distribution of Pilsbryochonca exillis. P. exillishas good ecological and economic potential. This study aimedto determine the distribution and density of P. exillis in the Indragiri river,  Lubuk Terentang village, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. Sampling used the plot method and hand sampling, a plot divided into 9 sub-plots (9x3m). The results shown that the distribution of P. exillisis uniform and clumped. The distribution  based on  Morishitaindexis about 0,47 to 1,06. The highest density found in Station I was 1,05 ind/m2 and the lowest was found in Station III was 0,22 ind/m2. It is also known that the distribution and density of P. exillis in Indragiri River Waters are not disturbed. Keywords: River Organisms, Distribution,Characteristic, Density and Gastropods

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the plastic wastes that affect the coastal areas in the Manggung Village of Pariaman is microplastic. The presence of microplastics in aquatic and coastal environments can disturb the habitat of macrozoobenthos organisms. The entry of microplastics into animal bodies filter feeders can damage the functioning of organs of the digestive function, reduce growth rates and affect reproduction and is thought to have an impact on the density of macrozoobenthos. This research aims to determine the type and density of microplastics in the coastal area of Manggung Village, Pariaman. This research was conducted in May - June 2019. The sampling point was determined based on the shape of the coast by placing the kuadrat at the lowest, midpoint, and highest tide. The area of the kuadrat used is 50 x 50 cm with a depth of 10 cm of sediment. The results of the research have been found 4 types of microplastic namely fiber, fragment, film, and foam with a total density of 3640 items / m3. Keywords:plastic waste, shore area, filter feeders, fiber.

Abstract

ABSTRACKPuntioplites buluis a freshwater fish that inhabit the Koto Panjang Reservoir. A study aims to understand the stomach content of P.buluhas been conducted from January to March 2019. The fish was sampled 6 times,  once/ 2 weeks. There were 65 fishes captured, but 3 fishes were discharged as they had empty stomach. Stomach content was analyzedusing a volumetric method and then the Preponderance Index (IP)was calculated. Resultsshown that the main food of the fish is Crustacea 39,38460%.Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that the food of P.buluwas various.  Keywords : fish diet, Indeks of Preponderance, gut content, volumetric method

Abstract

AbstracIn the Marunggai River there is a restricted area and it is known as “lubuk larangan”, as it is a habitat of Tor tambroides, a rare endemic fish species. A research aims to find out a proper method to manage the Marunggai River restricted area in order to safe the T. tambroides population was conducted in ApriltoAugust 2019. The water was sampled 3 times in the buffer and conservation zones.Water quality parameters in the habitat of T.tambroideswere as follows: temperature23,6 - 25,1 °C, transparency37-110 cm, depth37-110 cm pH 6, DO4,86 - 5,46 mg/L free CO22,75-3,15 mg/Land phytoplankton abundance was201-1.003 sel/L.Keyword: Tor sp,endemic fish, buffer zone, conservation area, Water quality

Abstract

ABSTRACT Betok fish is one type of species that is influenced by the season and lives in  the Lubuk Siam Lake. A research aimed to understand the standing Stock of Anabas testudineus in size distribution of fish caught in Lubuk Siam Lake. Fish was sampled in 3 sampling points using nets and traps. The research was conducted in April-May 2019. The Standing Stock was analyzed based on Leslie method. The results shown that the initial population (No) of the fish was 450 kg and the final population (Nt) was 438 kg, temperature was 27-28, clarity was 62-93 cm, and pH=6.Keywords: Leslie method, Oxbow lake, Maximum captured, Fish population

Abstract

AbstractSeagrass ecosystem in the Madong Bay is inhabited by numerous aquatic organisms, including gastropods. A research aim to determine the community structure of gastropds in the seagrass ecosystem has been conducted on July – August 2019. Data was collected from 3 stations, there were 2 line transects in each station. In each line there was 4 quadrats (1m x 1m). Gastropods present inside the quadrat were collected manually. Results shown that there was 9 species of gastropods, namely Pirenella cingulate, Cerithium coralium, Drupella margariticola, Nassarius canoldalis, Nerita lineata, Pugilina cochilidium, Strombus canarium, Strombus urceus and Trochus maculatus. The diversity index (H’) was 1.99 – 2.49 (medium), uniformity index (E) was 0.77 – 0.83 (high) and dominance index (C’) was 0.32 – 0.22.  Keywords :Pirenella cingulate, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance
