Abstract

Microstrip antennas generally have deficiency with small bandwidth, so that their utilization is very minimal and rarely used for antenna user applications on electronic devices. To increase antenna performance parameters bandwidth, voltage standing wave ratio, and return loss, need modification of antenna. This research was carried out by modifying of microstrip antenna with the meader line technique by ground plane wich is useful for increasing performance of microstrip antenna parameters. The ground plane on antenna was modified by adding a copper wire to the antenna. With modifications to ground plane antenna, the antenna performance parameters bandwidth, voltage standing wave ratio and return loss have decreased significantly. Antenna bandwidth has 124 MHz before modification, but has increased upto 214 MHz after modification ground plane, voltage standing wave raio has decreased from 1.835 to 1.12 after modifications ground plane antenna, and return loss of antenna before modification has -10.112 dB, after modification it decreased significanty upto -24.69 dB.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dari Politeknik Penerbangan Medan dilaksanakan dengan mitra Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Tanjung Morawa, yang berlokasi dekat dengan Bandar Udara Internasional Kualanamu Deli Serdang, jarak sekolah dengan Bandara kurang lebih 19 km. berdasarkan hal tersebut maka tim pengabdian melakukan edukasi keamanan penerbangan kepada guru dan siswa. Keamanan Penerbangan adalahsuatu keadaan yang memberikan perlindungan kepada penerbangan dari tindakan melawan hukum melalui keterpaduan pemanfaatan sumber dayamanusia, fasilitas, dan prosedur. Metode yang diterapkan tim pengabdian adalah memberikan ceramah dan tanya jawab serta contoh – contoh kejadian nyata yang terjadi di dunia penerbangan, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan memberikan test kepada peserta menggunakan aplikasi kahoot. Hasil pretest total 36 orang peserta terdapat 23 orang dengan nilai dibawah 70 dan 13 orang dengan nilai di atas 70. Setelah diberikan edukasi, peserta mengalami peningkatan nilai yaitu sebanyak 25 orang peserta dan 11 peserta tidak mengalami peningkatan. Outcome yang kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah masyarakat terutama para siswa di lingkungan sekitar Bandar Udara lebih memahami pentingnya penerapan keamanan penerbangan sipil sehingga keselamatan penerbangan dapat terwujud.The Community Service Activities of the Medan Aviation Polytechnic are carried out with partners from Tanjung Morawa 1 Public High School, which is located close to Kualanamu Deli Serdang International Airport, the distance between the school and the airport is approximately 19 km. Based on this, the service team conducts aviation safety education for teachers and students. Aviation Security is a situation that provides protection to aviation from acts against the law through the integrated use of human resources, facilities and procedures. The method used by the service team is to give lectures and questions and answers as well as examples of real events that occurred in the world of aviation, then proceed with giving tests to participants using the kahoot application. The pretest results for a total of 36 participants included 23 people with scores below 70 and 13 people with scores above 70. After being given education, the participants experienced an increase in scores, namely 25 participants and 11 participants did not experience an increase. The outcome of this community service activity is that the community, especially students in the environment around the airport, understand more about the importance of implementing civil aviation security so that aviation safety can be realized.

Abstract

Abstract: The continuous use of an electric motor in some industries causes the electric motor to malfunction early. Such damage is generally caused by overheating. Therefore, to overcome the problem of overheating, most industries use two motors that work alternately. Both electric motors function as running and standby which are generally controlled manually by the operator or using a time delay relay (TDR). However, the control of both motors by the operator is not effective because it allows human error to occur. The use of TDR is also ineffective because it does not make the temperature of the electric motor a reference in controlling the work of the two electric motors. This research aims to produce a prototype that can monitor the temperature of the electric motor in real-time and control the electric motor based on the temperature of the electric motor. The Wemos D1R2 is used as a processor to control both electric motors and transmit the temperature of the electric motor to a smartphone via the internet. The MLX90614 sensor is used as an infrared-based temperature sensor. Based on the results of testing the overall performance of the prototype, it is known that the temperature readings of the electric motor are quite accurate with mean error and standard deviation of 0.13oC and 0.15oC, respectively. The prototype is also capable of controlling both electric motors automatically and controlling a cooler via a smartphone.            Keywords: Electric Motor; MLX90614; Overheating; Wemos D1R2.  Abstrak: Penggunaan sebuah motor listrik secara terus menerus pada sebagian industri menyebabkan motor listrik tersebut mengalami kerusakan lebih awal. Kerusakan tersebut umumnya disebabkan oleh panas berlebih. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengatasi masalah panas berlebih tersebut maka sebagian besar industri menggunakan dua buah motor yang bekerja secara bergantian. Kedua motor listrik tersebut difungsikan sebagai running dan standby yang mana umumnya dikendalikan secara manual oleh operator atau menggunakan time delay relay (TDR). Namun, pengendalian kedua motor oleh operator tidaklah efektif karena memungkinkan terjadinya human error. Penggunaan TDR juga tidak efektif karena tidak menjadikan suhu motor listrik sebagai acuan dalam mengendalikan kerja kedua motor listrik tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan sebuah prototipe yang mampu mengawasi suhu motor listrik secara real-time dan mengendalikan motor listrik berdasarkan suhu motor listrik. Wemos D1R2 digunakan sebagai prosesor untuk mengendalikan kedua motor listrik dan mengirimkan suhu motor listrik ke smartphone melalui internet. Sensor MLX90614 digunakan sebagai sensor suhu berbasis infra merah. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian kinerja prototipe secara keseluruhan diketahui bahwa hasil pembacaan suhu motor listrik cukup akurat dengan mean error dan standar deviasi masing-masing 0,13oC dan 0,15oC. Prototipe juga mampu mengontrol kedua motor listrik secara otomatis dan mengontrol sebuah pendingin melalui smartphone. Kata kunci: Motor Listrik; MLX90614; Panas Berlebih; Wemos D1R2.

Abstract

Community service activities aim to provide participants with experience using Canva to create more interactive learning media and increase participants' motivation in teaching. Canva is currently the most popular website application for graphic design and brand building. Participants can also use Canva as a learning medium; they can also use Canva for social media and to support school activities. Participants can take advantage of better and more templates with Canva Pro. This training was attended by 17 participants: school principals, teachers, and administrative participants. The methods include lectures, question-and-answer discussions, demonstrations, and group presentations. The evaluation showed participants could make PowerPoint presentations, flyers, and class schedules. In the results of the questionnaire recapitulation from 17 participants, the maximum score was 100, obtained from respondents with an average score of 92, with the highest participant score being 100 and a minimum score of 83. Apart from teachers, students can also use the Canva application.
