Art is an integral part of the human history that is inseparable from the development of human civilization. Performing art is the identity of a nation as one of the cultural wealth. Pekanbaru city with multiple layers of society, have a numerous arts and cultures need cultural spaces that are able to accomodate a wide range of performing arts. Siak River flows through and splitting the city, it have historical values and local wisdoms that can be utilized to create a cultural district on the river. Siak River as an icon of Pekanbaru in ancient times can regrow the cultural values that have started are lost among the public. The Siak Riverside can potentially be used as a cultural tourist destinations, it can take advantages of the natural resources that exist in the surroundings. Performing Art Training Facilities that have educative functions will be supported by aspects of the malay culture and local wisdom, these facilities will accomodate training and performing medium for artists and recreational for visitors. The design methods used include field data collection, studies and empirical studies library. The result of this design is the performing art facilities with the concept of a “Culture Wave” adopt shape and meaning implementation on the principle of the waterfront architecture. Wave visualization applied to the site design through a patterned waves canal-dividing the site into three parts, and the wave shape of the roof, while the image of the building adopt the typical of the malay culture and Pekanbaru local wisdom.Keywords: Performing art, Wave, Culture, Waterfront Architecture

Bird is one of animals that comes in various species and spreads in almost every part of Earth’s surface. However, certain specieses of birds is on the verge of extinction. Nature destruction andpoaching are the causes of the extinction. In Indonesia, there are 131 kinds of birds whose existence is endangered. Therefore, a medium to acomodate endangered birds is needed and it’s called as Bird Park. The Bird Park is designed using Metaphoric Postmodern Architecture approach. The purpose of using Metaphoric Postmodern Architecture is to create a replica of bird’s real habitat. Postmodern Metaphoric Architecture is a design theory that takes the shape and characteristics of an object andapplied it to the building’s appearance. Through this Postmodern Metaphoric theme, we are able to get the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity’. This is to combine and connect the functions of the Bird Park as means of recreation, education, and conservation. Through this Postmodern Metaphoric Architecture theme and the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity’, we are able to get the shapes andcharacteristics of birds that can be applied on the mass arrangement and façade pattern of the Bird Park.Keywords: Extinction, Bird Park, Methaporic Postmodern Architecture

Transport is essential element and function as liaison to the life and development of the economic, social, political, and mobility for population that is growing concurrently and follower the developments in various fields. Terminal is a ground transportation that serves to connect between regions, terminal is also a means for transportation of goods and people in area. The Terminal has an important role in economic development and regional development, because means of transportation facilities will trigger economic growth and regional development. In addition to the economy during this, the Malay culture in Indonesia has not yet been developed and widely exposed as other ethnic cultures. Terminal type B is planned and designed using Malay architecture theme. Reasons for the selection of Malay architectural theme as a backdrop of the location which in the region of Siak and to maintain the Malay culture in Siak district. The existence of a terminal type B with the application of architectural style House Kajang which is focused at building on the Siak Regency. Needs of the community infrastructure that will be capable of Siak liaise with social life, economic life and meet the needs of the Malay design centers which applicated on plan to the station, and make Siak district in meeting the needs of the growth mode of ground transportation.Keywords: Station, Station Type B, Kajang Malay Style.

As the era develops, youth activity becomes more and more various. Unfortunately, it is not well-provided as we lack some facilities. One of the facilities needed to solve this problem is Youth Centre. It is a centre unit where young people can have such activities concerning retreat, innovation and talent’s growth. Young People, as we know having bold and dynamic characters, tend to pursue freedom, have much curiosity to try something nwe, and be active in social life. Therefore, in designing a suitable youth centre for them, use character and mosaic concept as a ethod to facilitate their activities.this concept represent their characters in finding their own talents and interest with changing rates and colors which shows their differences. By using this, find out some more activities needed in sports, arts and social which can affect the textures, colors, circulation and any other facilities. In Kasang Kulim zoo there are so many animals less of health attention. The cause of this problem is because there is no Animal Hospital Facilities (AHF) in this zoo. This is the reason why Animal Hospital is needed to fulfill health requirements in this zoo. The purposes of this research are to identify the supporting facilities needed, describing the characteristics of tropical architecture into the design of Animal Hospital, and formulating the concept into the design of Animal Hospital in Kasang Kulim Zoo. The methods of presenting the Animal Hospital design are through concept, zoning, mass order, outdoor planning, mass formation, indoor planning, structure, utilitiy, building facade, and design result. The research approach is applying the principle of tropical architecture. The tropical architecture principles applied are responsive to the environment and combined with the design concept, Garden Hospital. In this design, the building is divided into two building. The first is Animal Hospital building which is intended for pets, and second one is Animal Health Center which is intended for animals in Kasang Kulim Zoo. The combination between the concept and theme will be the characteristic from this design, that is every existed room will get natural lighting and air sirculation.Keywords: Animal Hospital, Tropical Architecture, Garden Hospital.

West Sumatra is one of the provinces in Indonesia with a lot of natural potential that can be used as a natural and cultural tourism. Padang as the capital is the economic center also known as the city of art and culture. To improve and develop cultural tourism, needed a tourist spot that showing, conserve and kept Minangkabau culture. This cultural tourism will added value for tourists to knowing and understand about Minangkabau culture. MinangkabauTheme Park as a theme park to be a place of entertainment or recreation that presents attractions and other events for visitors. Approximatin methode of Minangkabau theme can make visitors knowing and understand about Minangkabau culture. The design of Theme Park will apply the Minangkabau House approach in order to create an old Minangkabau atmosphere and apply characteristics of Minangkabau house that can be showed. Based on function and theme of design produce the concept of "ALam takambang jadi guru". This concept is applied in the design of the zone, the pattern and the mass order, the mass formation, the circulation and landscape getting a place that furnishes the cultural tourism in Padang. The design of Minangkabau Theme Park is divided into several areas: reception area, show area, traditional game area, minangkabau art learning area, culinary area, inn area, mosque area, ATM center area, service area and parking area.
