Abstract

Gondang District is a drained swamp morphology with an area of 37.85 Km2 with a slope of <2%. Regarding this, it has different physical condition from other settlement areas. This study aimed to evaluate the suitability of the land for settlement development in the area. The data related to slope, soil structure, soil texture, drainage, and depth of ground water level, rock weathering level, level of flooding / flooding, soil carrying capacity, permeability, and potential for soil wrinkle (index cole) were collected through observation. Through the sample type of purposive sampling on land unit maps resulted from overlay maps of slope, land use maps, and maps of soil types, scoring was then conducted. Using descriptive evaluative method, the results show that the land which has been or will be developed into a settlement area has some limiting values so as further evaluation is required when used as a settlement areaKecamatan Gondang mempunyai luas area 37,85 Km2 dengan kemiringan lereng < 2% merupakan morfologi rawa yang mengalami pengeringan sehingga semiliki kondisi fisik yang berbeda dari kawasan permukiman yang lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melakukan evaluasi kesesuaian lahan di untuk pengembangan permukiman di daerah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif evaluatif. Data kemiringan lereng, struktur tanah, tekstur tanah, drainase, kedalaman muka air tanah, tingkat pelapukan batuan, tingkat penggenangan/banjir, daya dukung tanah, permeabilitas, dan potensi kembang kerut tanah (index cole)dikumpulkan dengan observasi. Melalui sampel jenis purposive sampling pada peta unit lahan yang dihasilkan dari overlay peta kemiringan lereng, peta penggunaan lahan, dan peta jenis tanah yang kemudian dilakukan pengharkatan (scoring). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lahan yang telah dikembangkan maupun yang akan dikembangkan menjadi kawasan permukiman mempunyai beberapa nilai pembatas sehingga perlu adanya evaluasi lebih lanjut apabila digunakan sebagai kawasan permukiman.

Abstract

Potential land prices are strongly influenced by various factors, Cimahi City has three sub-districts displaying unique characteristics, since it is located between two districts and one large city, which affects the potential price of land. The potential price of land is crucial to identify, especially in determining the policies of related agencies, the purpose of this research was to zoning potential land prices in Cimahi City. This study engaged a quantitative approach utilizing data collection technique in the form of observation, literature, documentation, and interviews, then analysis was conducted using a GIS which composed of assessment, weighting, coating, and buffering. The study population was all sub-districts in Cimahi. The research samples were taken from several sub-districts which were influenced by districts and cities characteristics indicators such as accessibility, land usage, and land ownership status. The results showed land prices potential was classified as low, medium, and high which was derived by several indicators. It could be concluded that the potential land price is strongly influenced by the surrounding area features, especially urban and district infrastructure. Abstract

Local wisdom is the lives values ​that enables people to live in harmony with other individual and their environment. An example of a place that still maintains this value is a traditional village. West Java has eight Traditional Villages, one of which is the Pulo, located in Garut Regency, where the environment is still very well preserved because the values ​​of local wisdom are applied in environmental management. This study aims to analyzes the values ​​of local wisdom related to environmental management in Pulo Traditional Village community. Data were collected through observation, interviews, literature studies and documentation, then were analyzed descriptively using a qualitative ethnomethodology approach. The results showed that the community retains the value of local wisdom in maintaining their relationship with the environment by 1) preserving the prohibitions in the form of pamali, 2) prohibiting livestock rearing that pollutes the environment, 3) using certain plants wisely, as well as limiting the number of buildings and their occupants,and 4) constructing buildings with eco-friendly architecture. Therefore, these values need to be maintained to serve as a model or example for society in general.
