Abstract

The success of a learning process depends on the teacher’s mastery of materials, strategies, and media. Teachers need to possess high creativity to maintain their students’ interest and motivation in learning. The integration of effective learning models and appropriate media, such as using plastic waste as realia, can be one of the alternatives to improve the quality of learning. This study also aimed to examine students' awareness of environmental issues. The quantitative and qualitative data of the study were collected simultaneously to answer the research problems. Interviews were conducted during the implementation of the learning process and quizzes. A pre-experimental one-shot case study design was employed to gather the quantitative data which were then analyzed descriptively. The results of the current study showed that the students' intuitive thinking started to develop in phase 3, where they were asked to identify the type of plastic glass they were holding. Phase 4 that allowed the students to separate parts constructing the glass, determine the name of each part, and set a point of view or the purpose underlying the material presented was the phase where the students performed an analytical thinking process. In phase 5, the students were allowed to solve a mathematical problem using analytical thinking. The interaction between students' intuitive and analytical thinking shown in the identification and labeling of each type of three-dimensional form will be discussed in this article

Abstract

Kecenderungan pembelajaran matematika saat ini adalah pembelajaran yang memusatkan pada keterlibatan siswa secara aktif. Tetapi kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika yang dilakukan di sekolah khususnya di SMP masih berjalan secara konvensional. Selain itu, salah satu keluhan yang banyak terdengar dalam dunia pendidikan matematika adalah kurangnya keterkaitan antara pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dengan dunia nyata dan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic dirancang berawal dari pemecahan masalah yang ada di sekitar siswa dan berbasis pada pengetahuan yang telah dimiliki siswa, sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman matematika siswa. Benda-benda atau peristiwa-peristiwa yang berasal dari lingkungan kehidupan siswa tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai bahan untuk mengawali pembahasan topik-topik matematika tertentu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan perangkat karena peneliti ingin mengembangkan suatu perangkat pembelajaran pada topik pecahan yang berorientasi pendekatan pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic. Penelitian pengembangan yang dimaksud adalah penelitian yang menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran yang meliputi RP, buku siswa yang memuat LKS. Model pengembangan perangkat yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada pengembangan four D Models (model 4-D) yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate), sebagaimana dikemukakan oleh Thiagarajan. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba perangkat diperoleh perangkat pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah yang baik, karena memenuhi syarat-syarat yang ditetapkan, yaitu: (1) Kemampuan guru/ dosen dalam mengelola pembelajaran: efektif; (2) Tes hasil belajar baik. Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Berdasarkan Masalah (Problem-Based Instruction), Perangkat pembelajaran, Keefektifan Pembelajaran, Hasil Belajar.

Abstract

Laboratorium mini dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic merupakan serangkaian kegiatan praktikum yang memerlukan alat peraga sederhana, dapat dilaksanakan di dalam kelas, dapat digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir dan dapat membuat peserta didik untuk membangun pengetahuannya sendiri. Oleh karenanya, penerapan laboratorium mini dianggap efektif dalam mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan laboratorium mini dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic pada pokok bahasan bilangan pecahan peserta didik kelas VII MTs. Negeri Batu Merah Ambon. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 311 orang peserta didik kelas VII MTs. Negeri Batu Merah Ambon. Sedangkan, jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 71 orang yang terdiri dari dua kelas yang berbeda, yakni kelas VII2 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah sampel 38 orang peserta didik, dan kelas VII3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah sampel 33 orang peserta didik. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan laboratorium mini sangat efektif, karena 3 dari 4 aspek indikator keefektifan dapat tercapai. Secara klasikal hasil belajar kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan laboratorium mini lebih baik dibandingkan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Selain itu, respons peserta didik terhadap proses pembelajaran menggunakan penerapan laboratorium mini dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic juga mendapatkan respons yang sangat positif dari, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan jumlah persentase yang mencapai rata-rata 81,81%. Sehingga sangat efektif dan berhasil penerapan laboratorium mini dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic pada pokok bahasan bilangan pecahan peserta didik kelas VII MTs. Negeri Batu Merah Ambon. Kata Kunci: Laboratorium Mini, Realistic Mathematics, dan Bilangan Pecahan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah pengaruh penguasaan konsep aljabar dan adversity quotient terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada siswa kelas XI SMK Muhammadiyah Ambon. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah ex post facto. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMK Muhammadiyah Ambon yang berjumlah 25 orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, ada pengaruh yang signifikan penguasaan aljabar dan adversity question terhadap pemecahan masalah pada materi persamaan kuadrat siswa kelas XI SMK Muhammadiyah Ambon yang ditunjukkan dengan hasil analisis uji-t antara variabel Penguasaan Konsep Aljabar dan Adversity Question terhadap variabel Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah di peroleh nilai sig. 0.01 < 0,05, dan nilai t hitung 5.648 > 1.319.Dengan demikian Besar pengaruh penguasaan aljabar dan adversity question terhadap pemecahan masalah pada materi persamaan kuadrat siswa kelas XI SMK Muhammadiyah Ambon diperoleh sebesar 34% sedangkan 66% dipengaruhi variabel lain selain variabel Penguasaan Aljabar dan Adversity Question. Kata Kunci: Penguasaan Aljabar, Adversity Question dan Pemecahan Masalah

Abstract

The importance of critical thinking ability in solving mathematical problems can improve the quality of thinking and make thinkers better understand the content that has been studied. This research aims to reveal students' critical thinking ability using Facione's theory to solve comparative problems. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study consisted of 2 students taken from 20 participants based on data saturation. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests, interviews, validation sheets, and documentation. The data analysis technique of the research results was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the discussion results, the researcher revealed students' critical thinking skills through six components of critical thinking based on Facione's theory, namely Interpretation, Analysis, Evaluation, Inference, Explanation, and Self-Regulation. Significant differences between the two subjects appear at the explanation stage. At this stage, subject 1 uses the procedure in the concept scheme, and the explanation of the argument of subject 1 is very logical. This can be seen in clarifying the evaluation and inference stages, where the subject performs calculations correctly and logically. Meanwhile, subject 2 uses detailed procedures in its planning, indicated by notes at the analysis stage.

Abstract

Abstract:Types of questions and the way the teacher teaches can affect student learning interests. One learning model that can increase students' interest in learning is the Rotating Trio Exchange cooperative learning model. This study examined the differences in students' learning interests using routine vs non-routine questions in the Rotating Trio Exchange cooperative learning model. The type of research used is quasi-experimental, with a sample of 44 junior high school students. The instruments used in this study were fractional material test questions, questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data analysis used a validity test, reliability test, normality test, homogeneity test, Wilcoxon test, and independent sample t-test. This study concluded that there were differences in the average learning interest of students who used routine and non-routine questions in the Rotating Trio Exchange cooperative learning model.Abstrak:Jenis pertanyaan dan cara guru mengajar dapat mempengaruhi minat belajar siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif Rotating Trio Exchange. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat perbedaan minat belajar matematika siswa yang menggunakan soal rutin vs non rutin pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Rotating Trio Exchange. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian Eksperimen Semu dengan jumlah sampel 44 siswa SMP. Instrumen digunakan penelitian ini adalah soal tes materi pecahan, angket dan lembar observasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabitas, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji wilcoxon dan uji independent sampel t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata minat belajar siswa yang menggunakan soal rutin dan non rutin pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Rotating Trio Exchange.

Abstract

The results of the 2018 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) study released by The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) show that the numeracy literacy skills of Indonesian students are at a low level, namely getting a score of 379 out of the OECD average score of 487 (OECD, 2019). As a result, students tend not to be able to solve problems correctly, and the cause is a need for mathematical connection skills. This study aims to describe the mathematical connections based on numeracy literacy in geometry. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The participants in this study were 38 grade 7 students from 3 different Madrasas in Maluku. Two students will take the research subjects from saturated data after being given a numeracy literacy-based test. In this study, students were asked to state the results of their thoughts on solving geometry concept problems given orally. Analyzing the research data was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings in this study of mathematical connections within the Polya framework can be divided into two: structured analytics and unstructured analytics.
