Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of financing and Third Party Funds (DPK) towards the Return on Assets (ROA) of Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) in West Sumatera. This field research is a quantitative study with seven PT BPRS in West Sumatera as the object of the research. This research uses secondary data in the form of panel data which combined cross section and time series data. The panel data are quarterly financial statements from 2016 to 2018 which are recorded in Financial Service Authority (OJK). The result of this research shows financing and third party funds (DPK) influence ROA in the amount of 59,65% simultaneously. The rest of it are influenced by other factors that are not investigated. Partially, financing is the only subject that has influence toward ROA. Meanwhile, third party funds had no significant influence towards ROA of seven BPRS in West Sumatera. This case is interesting to be researched since quantitative data reflects fluctuation based on financing from 2016 until 2018 while DPK tend to increase. However, financing is the only subject that has significant influence towards ROA.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to uncover the risk management and management system carried out by PT. BPR Syariah Al-Makmur against mudharabah deposit products. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data is collected through interviews and documentation to get an overview of the research. This study found that deposits became a superior product because deposits could take funds even if they were not due and were not subject to fines (penalties). To avoid liquidity risks due to withdrawal of funds before maturity, management develops various strategies. The liquidity risk management strategy developed in sequence is through a persuasive approach, namely by giving ababa, requesting 1 to 3 days if the funds are insufficient and providing facilities for the delivery of funds to the customer's residence. The preventive strategy of handling liquidity risk is to predict the needs of funds by carrying out daily monitoring of funds so that the stock of funds is carried out, also through the asset liquidity approach and repressive approach. Become a new model of deposit management carried out by PT. BPR Syariah Al-Makmur because no other financial institution has done anything like this. This model proved to be the largest source of funds compared to ordinary savings from 2012 to 2018. Although the number of deposits has decreased from 2017 to 2019. Even in 2019 the number of deposits is lower than ordinary savings, but this is an interesting thing to study further why this can happen.

Abstract

This study aims to reevaluate the role of Bundo Kanduang in addressing Domestic Violence cases within the Minangkabau indigenous community in West Sumatra. Utilizing qualitative research methods, data collection tools include documents, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The study involves Bundo Kanduang Adat and household members within the Bundo Kanduang organization in Tanah Datar, Agam, and Fifty Cities, totalling 35 participants per regency. Data analysis consists of three stages: Reduction, Presentation, and Verification. Method triangulation compares interview outcomes with FGD results for data triangulation. Theoretical triangulation is then applied to reassess Bundo Kanduang's role in resolving domestic violence cases. The findings reveal that Bundo Kanduang's role in addressing domestic violence under Minangkabau customary tambo has been implemented socially but not optimally within families due to factors such as low education, demanding work schedules, children relocating after marriage, and a lack of concern for one's hometown. To ensure the effective implementation of Bundo Kanduang's role in combating domestic violence, the following reformulations are proposed: 1) Leveraging the "nan 4" principle; 2) implementing premarital education and training; 3) applying people-oriented management; 4) compiling Nagari and community monographs; and 5) reinforcing matrilineal culture.
