Abstract

This experiment was carried out in a 7,500 m2 poultry closed house located between the geographical coordinates 7°21ʹ-7°31ʹ south latitude and 110°10ʹ-111°31ʹ    west longitude and an average altitute of 654 m, from July to August 2020. The chickens were placed in 24 pens measuring 1 m2 each at stocking density of 4 chickens m-2. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of three initial weight (chick weight on first day of experiment) and two types of mixed feed on broiler performance. A total 96 day old chicks strain CP 707 derived from the same flock of breeders, was distributed in completely randomized experimental design with 3 (initial weight) by two type of mixed feed five repliated per treatment. The feed was complete feed produced by PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk. Complete feed was given based on the maintenance phase, include BR0 (1-7 days old), BR1 (8-21 days), and BR2 (>21 days). The booster additive was a commercial product. Initial weights were classified as light (37-41 g), medium (42-46 g) and heavy (>47 g), whereas mixed feed (with and without additive booster) were used as daily chicken feed.  Data were analyzed by ANOVA and means were compared by Tukey’s test at 95% confidence level. Initial weight and types of mixed feed have no effect on feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, dan production index.

Abstract

Corn is a feedstuff that use as a major component of energy sources and hard to be replaced other feedstuff in poultry ration, even its use is always above 45% in the composition of poultry feed. However, domestic maize availability is limited and the price is changes depend on season harvest time, and most of the availability for animal feed is still imported. Besides that, there is a ban on the use of Antibiotic Growth Promoter (AGP) in poultry feed and drinking water effectively since January 2018, so an effort is needed to replace AGP with natural feed additives or Natural growth promoters (NGP). Based on the above conditions, it is necessary to make efforts to replace corn with local feed ingredients, one of which is apple extraction pomace (apple pomaces). The pomace of apple extraction, if left unchecked, will quickly rot so that it will potentially as an environmental pollutant. The potential of apple pomace extract can be used as a feed ingredient with high sugar and energy content (2300 kcal/kg BK). This research was conducted in the Field Laboratory of Sumber Sekar, Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Technology Laboratory, Brawijaya University. The experiment used 192 DOC broilers and placed them in 8 postal cages per replication. Research on Enzymanted apple pomaces (EAP) as a substitute for corn used a completely randomized design (CRD) P0: basal feed, P1: substitution of EAP 5%, P2: substitution of EAP 10%, P3: substitution of EAP 15%. The variables observed were the production performances include (feed consumption, weight gain, feed conversion ration) and the % internal organs. Based on the research, the results were not significantly different on the production performances and the % of organs in broilers. The use of apple pomaces can be used as a substitute for broiler feed up to a level of 15%.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah telur terhadap bobot telur, lama mengeram, fertilitas, serta daya tetas telur pada burung Kenari.  Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah burung Kenari jenis lokal yang bertelur 1,2,3, dan 4 dengan umur  sekitar 7 bulan dengan jumlah 24 ekor. Kandang yang digunakan adalah kandang kurungan (cage system) dengan ukuran 36,5cm x 20,5cm x 20cm. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan metode percobaan  Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 Perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Apabila ada pengaruh antar perlakuan, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa jumlah telur memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap lama mengeram, serta fertilitas telur burung KenarI, tetapi tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot telur serta daya tetas telur burung Kenari. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah burung Kenari yang menghasilkan jumlah telur yang berbeda mempunyai bobot telur dan daya tetas yang sama. Semakin banyak jumlah telur yang dihasilkan, maka lama pengeraman telurnya akan semakin lama, serta fertilitas telurnya akan berbeda. Saran yang dapat diberikan yaitu dalam pemeliharaan burung Kenari, diharapkan memperhatikan aspek kenyamanan kandang serta sarang pada saat induk mengerami telur-telurnya. Kata kunci : Kenari, Jumlah Telur, Bobot Telur, Lama Mengeram, Fertilitas, Daya Tetas THE EFFECT OF EGG NUMBER ON EGG WEIGHT, BROODING DURATION, FERTILITY, AND HATCHABILITY ON CANARY BIRD   ABSTRACT The objective of the research was to study the effect of the number of egg which were produced by Canary on egg, weight, brooding period, fertility and hatchability of egg.  The experimental material were Local Canary Strain in pairs, 7 month old which produced 1, 2, 3 and 4 eggs.  The total of Canary pairs were 24 birds.  The cage system was used for breeding activity with length, deep and height of 36.50 cm , 20.50 cm and 20 cm respectively.  The research methode was experimental arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment of egg production level which were 1, 2, 3 and 4 eggs production with 6 replication.  The data was analysis with analyzed of variance. The result of the research indicated that the number of egg produced by Canary Bird had the similar weight and hatchability but have longer brooding period and higher hatcability.  The suggestion could be given was in breeding activity choosed Canary with high egg production.   Key words : Canary, Number of Egg, Egg Weight, Brooding Period, Fertility, Hatchability

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan  untuk mengetahui  proporsi yang tepat antara sekam, pasir dan kapur  sebagai litter terhadap produksi ayam pedaging. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai informasi dan pertimbangan bagi peternak ayam pedaging dalam penggunaan proporsi sekam, pasir dan kapur yang tepat sebagi litter untuk meningkatkan produksi ayam pedaging. Materi yang digunakan adalah 72 ekor ayam pedaging jantan strain Lohman umur 3 minggu, dengan bobot badan 424,74 ± 42,46 g Metode penelitian adalah percobaan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah perbedaan proporsi antara sekam, pasir dan kapur sebagai litter, yaitu P0 = litter dari 100 % sekam , P1 =  50 % sekam, 33 % pasir, 17 % kapur. Perlakuan P2 = 33 % sekam, 50 % pasir, 17 % kapur dan P3 = 41,5 % sekam, 41,5 % pasir dan 17 % kapur. Variabel yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan. Data  dianalisis dengan sidik ragam, dan jika terdapat perbedaan yang nyata atau sangat nyata dikanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan proporsi sekam, pasir dan kapur dalam litter memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan dan pertambahan bobot badan, tetapi tidak memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap konversi pakan. Kesimpulan, penggunaan litter yang terdiri dari 50 % sekam, 33 % pasir dan  17 % kapur dapat meningkatkan konsumsi pakan dan pertambahan bobot badan pada ayam pedaging dan tidak menurunkan konversi pakan. Saran pada pemeliharaan ayam pedaging untuk meningkatkan konsumsi pakan dan pertambahan bobot badan  sebaiknya digunalkan litter yang terdiri dari 50 % sekam, 33 % pasir dan  17 % kapur   Kata kunci : Ayam pedaging, konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi Pakan,  dan litter.     INCREASED  OF  BROILER PRODUCTION PASSED ARRANGEMENT OF PROPORTION  RICE HULL, SAND AND QUICKLIME AS LITTER. ABSTRACT The aim of the research was to study the correct proportion among rice hull, sand and quicklime for increasing broiler production performances. The results of research expected can be used as consideration and information for  broiler rearing by using the correct proportion of rice hull, sand and quicklime of litter to increase broiler production. The material of the research was 72 broilers, Lohman Strain of 2 weeks old and body weight was 424,74 ± 42,46 g. The research method was experimentally with Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Variables observed were feed consumption, body weight  gain and feed conversion. The data were analysis with Analysis of Variance and if there were any significant difference would  be continued with Least Significant Differences (LSD). The result of this research indicated that difference proportion of rice hull, sand and quicklime in litter had significant effect (P<0,05) on feed consumption and daily gain but had no significant effect on feed conversion. Feed consumption  (3236,13 ± 47,75 g) and body weight gain  (2174,42 ± 98,60 g) and feed conversion (1.81 – 1.85). The conclusion used of litter which consist of 50 % rice hull, 33 % sand and 17 % quicklime can increase feed consumption and  body weight of broiler. It was  suggested that on rearing broiler by using litter with  proportion of 50 % rice hull,  33 % sand and 17 % quicklime.   Keyword : Broiler, feed consumption, daily gain, feed conversion,  and litter.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the performance of broiler production in a closed and open house system. The study was conducted on September 13-October 25, 2019, at Sumardi's broiler farm located in Kademangan Village, Pagelaran District, and Malang Regency. The material used is 120 broilers in a closed house and 120 broilers in an open house. CP-707 strain broiler chickens were given complete feed produced by PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia. Feed and drinking water are given ad libitum. Research variables are feed consumption, body weight, feed conversion, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat weight. Research data were tabulated and analyzed using unpaired t-test. Based on the results of statistical analysis, there is a difference between the performance of broiler production in a closed house and open house system (P<0.05). Closed house system gives a better effect on the performance of broiler production.

Abstract

Cahaya dalam hal ini lampu adalah faktor penting dan merupakan terobosan sistem pencahayaan yang efisien untuk pengembangan peternakan ayam Arab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa produksi (fase awal bertelur, hen day production, dan berat telur) pada ayam Arab dengan menggunakan perbedaan intensitas cahaya dan lama pencahayaan. Materi penelitian ini adalah 36 ekor ayam Arab fase layer dengan rataan bobot badan 924,28 ± 90,45 g. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah percobaan, dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap faktorial 2x2. Ternak dipelihara selama 9 minggu didalam kandang baterai. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji sidik ragam (ANOVA) dengan bantuan Program Microsoft Excel 2013. Apabila berbeda nyata (P<0,05) atau sangat nyata (P<0,01) dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan intensitas cahaya dan lama pencahayaan tidak memberikan pengaruh berbeda nyata (P<0,05) pada performa produksi ayam Arab. Secara umum, fase awal bertelur yang paling cepat adalah kelompok I1L1 yaitu bertelur pada rata-rata umur 145,11 hari. Berat telur paling tinggi pada fase puncak adalah kelompok I1L1 dengan rata-rata 36,03 gram/butir. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah intensitas cahaya dan lama pencahayaan yang berbeda memiliki dampak terhadap performa produksi ayam Arab.

Abstract

Birds quail (Coturnix Coturnix japonica) is a type of bird lots of quail maintained in the community have morphology i.e. small body, round and tail short Setyawn, Sudjarwo, Widodo, and Prayogi (2011) stated that bird quail is one community poultry of the genus Coturnix which can be generated as producer eggs and meat. Destination from study this for knowing the effect of sex ratio and age parent to consumption feed, weight eggs, and conversion feed. Method study is test design Random Complete (RAL) pattern factorial with 2 factors, namely factor 1 is Sex Ratio and factor 2 is age parent with every 3 treatments and 3 replications. Research results show the sex ratio does not give influence real on consumption feed, the weight of eggs, and conversion feed. Average consumption feed of 675.63 (g/ head) to 683.61 (g/ head), average weight egg of 11.28 (g/ item) to 11.60 (g/ item), and the average conversion ration of 5.63 to 6.08. Influence to age parent gives influence that is not real to consumption feed, weight eggs, and conversion feed. Average consumption feed as big as 677.17 (g/ head) to 679.74 (g/ head), average weight egg of 11.28 (g/ item) to 11.55 (g/ item), and the average conversion ration of 5.71 (g/ head ) to 5.92 (g/ head ). Interaction balance male-female and age parent no give influence real to consumption feed, weight eggs, and conversion feed. The conclusion from the research is the influence of the balance of male-female and the age of the parent no give influence the consumption of feed, the weight of eggs, and conversion of feed.
