Abstract

Abstract: This research is a qualitative research method regarding theassessment of Bokutachi Chikyuujin as an opening song of Doraemon animation. Thepurpose of the study is to explain and find out how to objectively assess the translationof Bokutachi Chikyuujin song from Doraemon animation and find out how well thetranslations of the song is based on Newmark's assessment. According to Newmark, theassessment of translation is divided into four categories, including: 1) translation as ascience; 2) translation as a craft; 3) translation as art; and translation as taste. It wasfound that the translation category for the song Bokutachi Chikyuujin’s translation’sscore is 66.5, which went to the translation category B ( good).Key Words: song, translation, assessment.

Abstract

Abstract: In the current era of globalization, the use of language is growing rapidly. The demand for mastering a foreign language is even greater. With the advancements in the current era of globalization, not only English, Japanese is also the language learned by speakers of the language as a foreign language or a second language. These linguistic events will appear in a multilingual society related to sociolinguistics. Someone who is communicating with the other person actually sends codes to the other person which can lead to the process of code switching and code mixing. Code mixing is mixing code from one language to another, expanding the language style or variety of languages.. The phenomena of code-switching and code-mixing are actually a phenomenon that often occurs in everyday life but is not widely realized by the speakers. The purpose of this study is to describe the types and causes of code switching contained in the Nihongo Mantappu Youtube channel. The method used in this study is the listening method with the free-involved-talk (SBLC) listening technique. In this study, 14 code mixing data were found with 18 code mixing utterances.Key Words : sociolinguistics, multilingual, code mixing

Abstract

Abstract: This research focuses on the cognitive semantic study of the meaning of kanyouku in the Japanese language that contains the element 手 (te), which means 'hand'. Kanyouku refers to compound words in Japanese where two or more kanji characters are combined to create a new meaning. The specific focus of this study is on kanyouku that includes the kanji character 手 (te), which is associated with the concept of 'hand' in Japanese culture. The objective of this study is to explore the cognitive processes involved in understanding the meaning of kanyouku that contains the element 手 (te). Through a comprehensive analysis of the semantic and cognitive aspects, this research aims to uncover the underlying conceptual structures and associations related to the use of 手 (te) in kanyouku. Overall, this research aims to enhance our understanding of the cognitive and semantic aspects of kanyouku that contain the element 手 (te) in the Japanese language. By investigating the underlying conceptual structures and cognitive processes, this study will provide valuable insights into the rich and nuanced meaning of 手 (te) and its implications in Japanese language and culture.Key words: Idiom, Kanyouku, Cognitive Semantic, Te ‘hand’, Cognitive.
