Abstract

Abstract: This research discusses about compound verb of ~dasu, and its equivalent in Indonesian. The purpose of the research is to describe kind of verb could accompany verb of dasu, the meanings of its, and its equivalent in Indonesian. Data in this research is sentences that contain compound verb of ~dasu selected from Nihongo Bunkei Ziten and corpus data. This study is used translational equivalent method and sorting determinat technique. The result of this research indicate that the kind of verb that dasu verbs can be accompanied to dasu is continuative verb, movement verb, stative verb, and muishi doushi. Compound verb of ~dasu meaning is the process of starting verbs, transfer from inside to outside, inward movement (towards the speaker), find, and change.Compound verb of ~dasu meaning is the process of starting verbs is equivalent with the word starting before the equivalent which is accompanied to dasu. Equivalent of of transfer from inside to outside’s meaning is is paired according to the verb that accompanied it and the meaning it contains. While the equivalent that carry the inward movement (towards the speakers) meaning and find meaning equivalent with the same equivalent verbs accompanied to dasu. Verbs that carry the meaning of change are affixed –me to the equivalent of the basic form of the verb accompanied to dasu.Key words: Compound, Verb, Equivalent

Abstract

ABSTRACT Anime is a typical Japanese animation that has many fans around the world, including in Indonesia. Many Japanese learners are interested in learning Japanese because they were previously fond of anime. This also happened to students at the Riau University Japanese Language Education Study Program. This study aims to see the correlation between the hobby of watching anime and students' Japanese language skills. This study is limited to statements expressing agreement and disagreement in Japanese. The method used in this research is quantitative method. The instruments used were questionnaires and tests. The results of the analysis show that there is a positive correlation between interest in anime and grammatical competence, namely in expressing opinions, which is 5.3%.Key Words: anime, correlation, grammar skil

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine reading comprehension in the Dokkai 4 courses after the application of the Cooperative Learning methods type Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD) with the learning design using JF Standard. This research used a weak experiment of one group pretest posttest design. Object of this research is Japanese languange education studensts at the University of Riau in 2016 class B consisted of 30 students. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The study applies two tests, pretest and posttest. Result of pretest and posttest were processed using test of Wilcoxon on The SPSS software. The pretest average score obtained by students was 39,5 and the posttest average increased to 78,3. Therefore there was a significant effect on reading comprehension in the subject after applying Cooperative Learning methods type Student Teams Achivement Divisions (STAD) in the 2016 Japanese languange education studensts class B at the University of Riau.Key Words: Dokkai, Cooperative Learning type STAD, JF Standar

Abstract

Abstract: This research discussed the meaning of words formed by the profession marking suffix -shi (-師) and -fu (-婦) in Japanese. This research used a qualitative descriptive, especially a method by using morphology and the meaning of kanji. The data were collected fromthe Japanese printed dictionary, the online Japanese dictionary on the weblio.jp website, the aedict online dictionary, and Japanese language corpus on the shonagon.ninjal.ac.id website. The obtained data then processed to examine their lexical meanings. The results of analysis showed that the suffixes – shi (- 師) and – fu (-婦) as professional indicators were frequentlyassociated with vocabulary of the kango word type. The words that were connected to these suffixes had a wide range of meanings. There were also other suffixes that refering to specific fields. The suffix –shi (-師) indicated a occupation that required exceptional abilities or qualifications in a specific subject, while the suffix –fu (-婦) had a work tendency that refered to only one gender, typically women. These rules determined which suffixes were attached to particular vocabulary in Japanese.Key Words: Suffix, Kanji, Profession Marker , Japanese Semantics

Abstract

Abstract: This study is a weak experimental research with one group pretest posttest design. The purpose of this study is to know the effectiveness of Genre Based Approach (GBA) to improve the ability of student class 2016/2017 in writing an exposition text. This approach has been applied in Dokkai Sakubun 5 Course with JF Standard design. There are several student’s writing problems were found during Dokkai Sakubun 5 learning process, i.e the difficulty to compose a story, the difficulty to apply the gramatikal rules while writing, and the difficulty of lack information related to writing topic. Through GBA, students are guided to learn that each type of text is different, in term of social purpose and schematic structure. This study focused on learning to write exposition genre. This genre was chosen due to the course’s indicator to make students able to write opinion according to the theme. Based on the result of the study, it was found that there is an improvement in student’s exposition text writing skill. Student’s essay not only became more structured, but also has a better quality of the content. This was supported by the result of the statistical tests of pretest and posttest data that was conducted.Key Words: Sakubun, Exposition Text, Genre Based Approach (GBA), JF Standard.

Abstract

Abstract: The research analyze the differences uses tsumori da and ki da as modalities of intention in Japanese, and how tsumori da and ki da are used when subtituted. The purpose of this research is to understand about the differences using tsumori da and ki da as modalities of intention in Japanese. Data for analyzing taken from www.kotonoha.gr.jp/shonagon/. The used methods in this research is descriptive with the theory of modality. Technique used in analyzing data in the research that is by using substitution. The conclusion of analyzed data tsumori da and ki da exchangeable, but not all of them can be replaced, depending on which persona is using tsumori da and ki da.Keyword: Modality

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the politeness scale of expressive speech acts of complaining found in the anime Relife episodes 1-13. The purpose of this study was to determine the politeness scale in expressive speech complaining. The object of research is the characters in the anime Relife episodes 1-13. This research is a descriptive qualitative research by interpreting the object under study based on Leech's (1983) politeness theory. The data was obtained by listening to the expressive utterances used by the characters and taking notes and then grouping them into each type. The results of this study indicate that the characters in the anime Relife episodes 1-13 use five types of Leech's politeness scale. Loss and gain scale, preference scale, indirectness scale, authority scale and social distance scale. In analyzing the use of the politeness scale in the ReLife anime , 21 data were found.Key Words: Politeness Scale, Expressive Speech Acts.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is intended to find out how the metaphor of Indonesiantranslated into Japanese in the novel “Cantik Itu Luka”, which has beentranslated into Japanese entitled Bi Wa Kizu. The method of this research isdescriptive. The writer analyzed the method and procedure the translator used intranslating the Indonesian metaphor into Japanese and so do the theory used increating the correspondence between the meanings of the words.Based on the study results, (1) the authors concluded that the translatoruses communicative translation method, which emphasizes the translation in thetarget language. Meanwhile, the procedure used is the procedure of changing theshape and change the meaning. (2) Metaphor senses animals on source text (TSu)is translated into three forms that is metaphor becomes general meaning,metaphor becomes metaphor with different senses, and metaphor becomesmetaphor with the same senses. (3)Metaphor senses anthropomorphic istranslated to be literal meaning. (4) Metaphor abstract to concrete is translatedinto four form that is metaphor becomes metaphor with different sense, metaphorbecomes literal meaning, metaphor is eliminated, metaphor becomes metaphorwith additional sense. Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the strategy of translating Japanese discourse into Indonesian by Japanese Education Department Riau University. 60 data were collected from 2 discourse whuch will be translated by 30 students. They were asked to translated discourse on sports and social themes using Google Translate. This research using the translation strategy theory proposed by Suryawinata & Hariyanto (2003: 67), addition, deletion, transposition, borrowing, komponential analysis, synonymy and modulation, by Gambier (2006), deletion, addition and substitution and translation procedures by Newmark (1998) (transposition, modulation, adaptation, contextual conditioning, transference and functional conditioning). Findings showed that the students tended to use the transposition and substitution strategy in their translation. This affected the quality of the translation, making it less natural in the target language. In addition, there was mistranslation due to inaccurate/wrong word choices, causing the messages within the source text to fail to be conveyed. This study is hoped to bring valuableinput for the translation studies and courses in the future.Key Words: Translation Strategy, Google Translate.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis is a descriptive research which examines erors made by the third year students of the Japanese study programe, education faculty, Riau University in learning Japanese languange particurarly in grammar and vocabulary. The erors in thesis both areas: grammar and vocabulary observe because of the different of the L1 and L2 and edition the verb kureru and morau has the same meaning with Indonesian.The aim of this study is to discovery what tipe of erors made by student and the factors contribute to the occurance of erors using. This research uses statistic descriptive inferencial with the percentage model to proces the colletive data.The finding explain that big percentage of the students have mad erors in using verb kureru and morau that function as auxiliary verbs. The clearly observed erors are in selecting which verbs are appropriately used and placing the subject, object and particle properly.The causes of the erors are due to lack of competence of the students in mastering the use of verbs in sentences using kureru and morau. The research concluded that more than of students experienced erors which have been evident from the 48,8 % percentage of erors rate. Far than more in general third year students of Japanese education, Riau University, only gain more fully comprehensive the lexical meaning of kureru and morau than sintaxical patterns.Key word : kureru, morau, giving and receiving
