Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi perjuangan dan pergulatan Suparto Brata dalam arena sastra Indonesia. Hal ini bermuara pada penjelasan atas kegagalan Suparto Brata sebagai pengarang senior yang hampir sepanjang kehidupan kepengarangannya tidak pernah memperoleh legitimasi dalam dunia sastra Indonesia. Sejalan dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan yang dapat melihat sastra secara keseluruhan, yaitu pembacaan secara eksternal dan internal novel Suparto Brata, pembacaan terhadap kondisi sastra dan kondisi sosial politik yang ketika Suparto Brata menuliskan novel dan memperjuangkan nilai karyanya. Oleh karena itu, teori yang dianggap sesuai adalah strukturalisme genetik Pierre Bouedieu. Operasionalisasi teori Bourdieu mencakup tiga konsep utama, yaitu, habitus, modal, dan arena. Habitus didefinisikan sebagai sebuah sistem disposisi terhadap suatu praktik adalah basis generatif bagi perilaku-perilaku yang teratur; oleh karena itu menjadi basis bagi regularitas bentuk-bentuk praktik Bourdieu. Berdasarkan metode arena produksi kultural Pierre Bourdieu, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Suparto Brata pada dasarnya memiliki modal positif sebagai pengarang berupa penguasaannya terhadap sejumlah fakta sejarah yang didasari oleh pengalaman hidupnya pada masa perjuangan Indonesia. Strategi literernya dibentuk oleh pandangan sosial dan pilihan cara artistik yang memadukan ragam sastra serius dan sastra populer. Namun demikian, modal dan strategi tersebut ternyata tidak sepenuhnya relevan dengan politik sastra pada masa Orde Baru.

Abstract

This research’s title is Estetika Sastra Populer d Novel Mencari Sarang Angin Karya Suparto Brata. This research is aiming to elaborate the story of Mencari Sarang Angin by Suparto Brata. This research is done because Suparto Brata and his novels are containing historical story but, different with the other historical novels, appreciation and legitimation that received by Suparto Brata is not relatively significant.Mencari Sarang Angin is one of Suparto Brata’s popular work, that is the reason why this work becomes the object study. There are some theories that is used, they are cultural production by Bourdieu and detective formula theory. According to this research, there are two findings, they are dominant love story as the main story, also utilization of detective story formula as the structure of story telling.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan psikoedukasi melalui pelatihan kepada pemuda yang termasuk kedalam kelompok program MBKM Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka, mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam organisasi kemahasiswaan di Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya dan juga para remaja yang menjadi mitra di kegiatan Matching Fund Desa Minggirasari, Kabupaten Blitar. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan yaitu ceramah, diskusi dan games dengan maksud dapat mengembangkan wawasan kebangsaan berdasaarkan landasan dasar filosofis pada para mahasiswa dan para remaja. Hasil yang dicapai dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan ada perbedaan wawasan peningkatan dan kesadaran berbangsa. Pelaksanaan psikoedukasi wawasan kebangsaan dapat efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta, hal ini ditunjukkan berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan dengan uji paired sample T-test diperoleh nilai t sebesar -18,047 dengan taraf signifikan antara hasil taraf signifikasi 0,000 (p<0,01). Artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pelatihan wawasan kebangsaan. Hal tersebut, menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan wawasan kebeangsaan pada mahasiswa inbond kegiatan modul Nusantara di kampus, anggota Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa, anggota Dewan Perwakilan Mahasiswa, mahasiswa pertukaran pelajar, serta remaja karang taruna desa Minggirsari, kabupaten Blitar memberikan pengaruh yang bermakna pada pemahaman partisipan.Kata Kunci : MBKM, Wawasan Kebangsaan, Desa Minggirsari

Abstract

Habitus is a concept from Pierre Bourdie (1977), which is agent’s structural base in conducting practices or actions This study is focused on habitus and the construction structure in David, the main character in Dave Pelzer’s A Child Called It and The Lost Boy. Habitus is shown in David’s actions and attitude when dealing with people around him. The method used in this research is descriptive method, which aims to objectively describe the subject which is the subject of science by collecting basic descriptive information needed to understand the nature of the subject. The study reveals that David’s habitus includes low self esteem, inferior feeling, continuous suspicious and difficulties to trust others, rude utterances and theft; which are the results of internalization of his alcoholic and rude mom’s parenting style. David’s mother treated him cruelly; which ranges from physical abuse (hit, stabbed with a knife, and burned), psychological abuse (threat and forced to say bad things about himself), and neglect (left starving, hurt, and isolated). Abstract

The study discusses the strategies used by ludruk groups as the survival strategies of Ludruk as a traditional form of art in Surabaya during the New Order. In Surabaya, there are at least three popular Ludruk groups: the groups of Ludruk RRI Surabaya, Cak Kartolo, and Irama Budaya. The success of Ludruk RRI Surabaya can be seen from their continuity and their success at socializing the government programs; the success of Kartolo is marked by 95 tapes which are well received; while the success of Irama Budaya is proven with the great number of audience (around 500) in 1998-2003. The analysis method applied is Pierre Bourdieu’s genetic structuralism method. Based on the study, it is found that the strategies used by the ludruk groups in Surabaya are playing the role as the government’s art media, optimalizing dagelan (comedy), and giving space for the minority while maintaining convension. Abstract

Nyai (the Javanese term for concubine) is one of the themes that is widely discussed in the realm of Indonesian literature starting from peranakan Chinese literature, literature during the colonial period, as well as modern Indonesian literature; both written by native writers and non-indigenous writers (Indonesians and peranakan Chinese). Based on these phenomena, this study will discuss the image of Nyai in literary works with a descriptive qualitative research method. The object materials of this research are the novels Nyai Wonokromo by Mayon Sutrisno, Tjerita Njai Isah by Ferdinand Wiggers, and Boenga Roos dari Tjikembang by Kwee Tek Hoay. In Nyai Wonokromo and Tjerita Njai Isah, the characters of Nyai presented in both novels are fool-blooded Dutch Nyai, while the novel Boenga Roos dari Tjikembang presents a Chinese Nyai. This study will compare the representation of Nyai as belonging to the Dutch and that of the Chinese, as well as comparing the images of Nyai written by indigenous writers and non-indigenous writers. The discussion of nyai includes the position of nyai in the social construction of society and its relationship with the people around it. Key words: nyai, women, colonial, peranakan Chinese, Europe
