Abstract

At present the development of the digitalization world is growing. In length measurements generally can only be measured through manual measurement that measures the device that wants to know its length. However, now the world of digitalization is able to make measurements without touching the device to be measured. One of them is by utilizing sound wave sources or commonly referred to as ultrasonic waves. The purpose of this study was to prototype Arduino Due microcontroller digital distance measuring devices using HC-SR04 sensor. The research method used is literature study and direct observation. Measurement results are displayed in a computer device to facilitate reading. This design is controlled through Arduino Due. The prototype testing results of the tool can run well and can be accessed in real time.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai penentuan jarak baca terbaik pada sistem pemindai berbasis larik sensor ultrasonik. Penelitian ini sebagai langkah awal pembuatan sistem pemindai kerataan permukaan suatu objek. Sensor ultrasonik dibuat larik dengan mengadaptasi kerja dari scanner komputer. Jumlah ultrasonik yang digunakan adalah sebelas buah sensor. Jumlah sensor yang cukup banyak membutuhkan jumlah port yang lebih banyak juga, sehingga dipilih Arduino Mega sebagai mikrokontrolernya. Larik sensor ultrasonik akan menghasilkan data sejumlah sebelas buah data. Data akan ditampilkan dan disimpan dalam bentuk excel melalui aplikasi Parallax Data Acquisition tool (PLX-DAQ). Variasi jarak yang digunakan adalah setiap kenaikan 5cm, dimulai dari 5cm sampai 50cm. Dari data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan melihat perbandingan prosentase error pembacaan larik sensor ultrasonik terhadap nilai standar jaraknya. Dari hasil variasi jarak yang dilakukan diketahui jarak ideal yang baik digunakan dalam sistem pemindai. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa jarak baca terbaik dalam penelitian ini adalah pada jarak 50cm. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai prosentase error yang lebih kecil.

Abstract

We investigate the adsorption of atmospheric pollutants on germanene and silicene using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. In this study, we use carbon monoxide (CO) and nitric oxide (NO) as the pollutant molecules. Electronic properties of germanene and silicene are explored to obtain a good understanding in the adsorption process. Our calculation results show both germanene and silicene provide an identical mechanism of adsorption. Germanene and silicene adsorb CO and NO spontaneously with physisorption and chemisorption types for CO and NO molecules, respectively. We also conduct the Mulliken charges calculations to evaluate the transformation of atomic charges due to the adsorption process. From Mulliken charge calculation results we can confirm the existence of charge transfer between the adsorbent materials and the pollutant molecules. This phenomenon lies behind the occurrence of the adsorption process.

Abstract

The aim of our community service program is to create promotion media of tourist attraction located in Menoreh, Samigaluh District, Kulon Progo Regency. Menoreh has a lot of not well-developed potential tourist attractions. There are not many information that we can obtain in internet about Menoreh attractions. This can be viewed from low number of visitors in Menoreh. Therefore a good promotion media is needed to solve the explained problem. Menoreh is a very potential area not only because of its natural resources but also because the government through the Ministry of Tourism establish Menoreh as a National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) Borobudur. There are many choices of promotional media that can be used, in this community service program we use Android-based application. Ministry of Communications and Information Republic of Indonesia in its official website predicts that by 2018 the number of active users of smartphones in Indonesia will exceed of 100 million users. Indonesia will be the country with the fourth largest smartphone active users in the world after China, India and the United States. From the that fact we can said that the promotion with smartphone-based application (by means of Android) is one of the most effective promotional methods today.

Abstract

One of the activities of dedication to the community of Vocational School UGM aims to create an Online Store of typical products in Menoreh area, Samigaluh District, Kulon Progo Regency. Menoreh is a very potential area not only because of its natural resources, it is proved by the existence of government support through the Ministry of Tourism which establish Menoreh as the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) Borobudur. Menoreh area also save a lot of tourism potential that is still not well developed. Not much information can be obtained from the internet about tours in Menoreh, especially about the original products of Menoreh area such as the chips of the merchant, suroloyo coffee and many other products. So need a special Web-based Online Store to promote these products so as to improve the information and sales of original products of the region. In addition to making the Online Store products typical of the Menorah area, community service activities also provide training for the admin in each village in Menoreh area. As a result the typical products of the Menorah area can be accessed on the URL page: produk.menoreh.org and each village has an admin who is responsible for the promotion of original products from their respective villages.

Abstract

The community engagement programme of Solar Power Plant (PLTS) installation as an electrical energy source for broiler farming society business in Jakenan Subdistrict, Pati District, Central Java Province has been done. The aims of this programme helped the broiler farming society in that Subdistrict to increase their business production by utilizing the PLTS technology. The implementation of this community engangement was carried out by giving an example to install, maintain, utilize, and develop of PLTS system in one of the broiler cage. This programme was done from April 2018 until September 2018 continously. The result of this programme was installed the 3 x 100 wp PLTS system in one of the cage as an example. Furthermore, the broiler farming society in Jakenan Subdistrict, Pati District, Central Java Province were understood and abled to applicating the PLTS technology to increase their broiler business productivity.

Abstract

We perform first-principles calculations to investigate the adsorption process of methyl mercury (MeHg) on germanene with the presence of water molecules. We calculate the formation energy and density of states to determine the effect of the adsorption of MeHg on the structural and electronic properties of germanene. Our results show that MeHg is chemisorbed on germanene through a spontaneous reaction. The calculated formation energy of the system is -1.61 eV. We also carry out charge distribution and charge transfer calculations based on the Mulliken model to understand the adsorption mechanism of MeHg.
