Abstract

The purpose of this research to restructuring its acid fatty oils castor result of dehydration with coconut oil through the process interesterification to produce cocoa butter substitute (CBS). Coconut oil is obtained from coconut milk by heating it slowly over low heat. The resulting coconut oil has a FFA is 1.667%, a peroxide is 10.229 MekO2 / Kg and an iodine is 7,7080 gI2/100g, which meets the second quality standard according to SNI 01-3741-2002. The restructuring was carried out by interesterification of dehydrated castor oil with coconut oil with a ratio (50:50); (60:40); (70:30); (80:20) dan(90:10)with a NaOCH3 catalyst. The results showed that the interesterification of dehydrated castor oil with coconut oil with a ratio (50:50) was the most optimal ratio with a melting point of 33 oC  which corresponds to cocoa oil (32 oC-35 oC) and contain omega-6 fats (linoleic acid).

Abstract

This study aims to (1) to determine the results of the analysis of chemistry teaching materials on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials used in schools according to BSNP standards, (2) to develop e-modules for electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials according to the BSNP eligibility criteria and have been based on projects, and (3) To determine student learning outcomes after being given project-based e-modules. The population in this study were all students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Deli Tua, totaling 6 classes. The sample in this study was class X MIA 5 who was taught with a project-based chemistry e-module. The instrument used is an e-module feasibility questionnaire according to the BSNP standard, a learning outcome test of 20 questions that have been tested valid. This study uses the method and media development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model has several stages, namely Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation. Where the results of the feasibility analysis of the content feasibility aspect of the e-module are 3.82; language eligibility is 3.83; The feasibility of presenting 3.81 and the feasibility of graphics 3.77 means that the teaching materials from the trial are very valid based on the BSNP. The average student learning outcomes who are taught project-based e-modules in one class are 78.8095. The results of the right-hand t-test with t count = 4.147> t table = 2.086. Thus the criteria for testing the hypothesis t count > t table are met. This means that Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted, so it can be concludedthat the project based chemistry learning e-module developed is better in improving students' chemistry learning outcomes in electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials.

The research method used was an experiment that was modified as needed. The sampling technique used is by using a purposive technique where class XI IPA 4 as an experimental class is taught using Webblog Media in the Problem Based Learning model using and XI IPA 5 as a control class that is taught using Power Point Media in the Problem Based Learning learning model based on HOTS evaluation . The analysis technique used is the mean difference test, the percent increase in learning outcomes, normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing. The results obtained by the average value of the experimental and control classes in the pretest data were 36.25 and 27.25. The post-test scores for the experimental and control classes were 79 and 65.5. Data on the normality and homogeneity test obtained data were normally distributed and the data were homogeneous. The correlation test for the effect of using Webblog media in the Problem Based Learning model on student motivation and learning outcomes is the value of rxy = 0.754 which means there is a positive correlation between motivation and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of teaching materials oriented critical thinking ability grade XI SMA developed. This research includes research and development with 3D development model (define, design and develop). The teaching materials developed were validated based on aspects of material feasibility, language and media by experts using validation sheets in accordance with BSNP standards and then the validated teachng materials were distributed to two teachers and grade XI students at Sultan Agung Private High School and SMAN 1 Pematangsiantar to find out the response of teachers and students using questionnaires. The results of the study found that expert validation of teaching materials developed has an average score of 4.17 in terms of content feasibility, 4.20 for the aspect of presentation feasibility, 4.33 for the linguistic aspect and 4.19 from the aspect of graphation. While students' response to critical thinking ability-oriented module teaching materials had average scores of 3.80 and 3.82 and teacher responses averaged a score of 4.27, judging by interest indicators, material indicators and language indicators. These results show that the critical thinking ability-oriented teaching materials developed have met valid and good criteria for use. Keywords: Teaching materials, Critical thinking skills, Chemical equilibrium, 3D models

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative model based on question cards and snakes and ladders on redox reaction material in class X SMA Negeri 14 Medan. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class I was treated using snake ladder media and the experimental class II was treated using question card media. This research is a pretest-posttest control group design. This study uses a test instrument that has been tested and has been valid. Data on student learning outcomes were tested for normality and homogeneity, the results obtained by both samples were normally distributed and homogeneously distributed. Hypothesis testing was carried out using a two-party t-test with the results of this study at a significance level of 5% (α=0.05) indicating that t_(count ) > t (2.127 > 2.002) then Ho was rejected. This shows that there are differences in learning outcomes using cooperative learning models of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type based on question cards and snakes and ladders on redox material

Abstract

This research aims to determine activities, learning outcomes and the correlation between activities and student learning outcomes taught using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model assisted by e-modules for class X SMA on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The population in this study were students of class This research uses test and non-test instruments in the form of student learning activity observation sheets which have been tested and are valid. The data obtained were tested for normality and homogeneity. Based on the results of data processing that has been analyzed, there are learning outcome values tcount = 9.714 and ttable = 1.66, the activity obtained is tcount = 6.069 and ttable = 1.66. Where tcount>ttable shows that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model assisted by e-modules for class X SMA on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The correlation test was carried out to determine the significant correlation between activities and student learning outcomes. The research results show that rcount > rtable (0.929 > 0.329) so H0 is rejected. Thus, there is a significant correlation between activities and student learning outcomes assisted by e-modules for class X SMA on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions.
