Abstract

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) has a very rapid growth in the waters so it can cause eutrophication. The silica content of 5.56% allows water hyacinth can be utilized as a natural adsorbent. Bentonit has an advantage as an adsorbent because it has an inter-layered structure that can be easily modified with chitosan, resulting in better performance as an eco-friendly adsorbent. This research aims to determine the characterization of chitosan-bentonite and water hyacinth as a adsorbent of Pb(II)removal. Characterization tests were performed using X-ray difraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) spectrophotometry. From the results of quantitative XRD analysis can be seen that the adsorbent of chitosan-bentonit and water hyacinth have different adsorbent characteristic, but has the same crystal system that is triclinic crystal system.

Abstract

CPL-4 and CPL-5 were synthesized with used 2,3 pyrazine dicarboxylic acid as main ligand , 4,4’-azopyridine(Apy) as linker ligand for CPL-4 and 1,2-di-(4-pyridil)ethylene(Bpe) for CPL-5 in water-ethanol(1:1) and temperature 250C. Three methods used in various reaction time and dropping method to metal ion with no stir treatment and also stirring or shaking treatment. CPL-4 have no magnetic field effect shows same XRD pattern in all synthesis method. Otherwise, CPL-5 with used method#03 shows different XRD pattern in 0T and 6T. By changing concentration of Cu2+ to 0.02 M, 6T crystal also shown different XRD pattern if compared with 6T crystal with 2 hours to 1 hours reaction time. It indicate of changing reaction between Hpzdc and Bpe with metal ion or reactivity both of ligand with metal ion induce different route under 6T. This process may effect to new crystal structure during synthesis in 6T..

Abstract

Lorong Ujung Tanjung Dua, Lingk 15, Bagan Deli Village, Belawan, North Sumatra became the location of this community research and service with Mr. Deddy Suryono as the owner of the business as the partner. His business activity is processing seafood shell waste into animal feed products. This business partner had problems whereas manual drying prolong the time due to the natural causes. Furthermore, the market of the product was in lower level due to the absence of explanation of the content of the product and also the brand name. One of the solution to propose is a high quality functional drying oven with eligible size and fixed temperature. Secondly, to increase the marketing of the product it need to be standardize by laboratory and make the brand name. The results, Rotary Dryer Modification Technology was used as the dryer which increased the product 4 times in quantity. The product was analysed in laboratory with three type of products whereas Shrimp Skin, Crab Skin and Fish Skin. The lab result showed that fish skin has the highest protein more than 50%. The brand name then named as EBYPRO.
