Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on Indonesia's education process, which was originally done offline, turned into online, as a result, teachers have difficulty assessing learning outcomes. Open-ended questions are expected to be an alternative in conducting assessments and help analyze students' creativity, reasoning, and mathematical thinking processes. This study aims to analyze Open-Ended in conducting assessments during the Covid-19 Pandemic using a descriptive approach through a case study in a school in Cirebon Regency. The subjects in this study were 2 respondents. Data was collected through a test giving questions about the Open-Ended Problem. Based on the application of two open-ended questions, it was found that all students gave answers correctly, in different ways based on their mathematical knowledge and abilities. Through problem solving by students, creativity, reasoning, and thought processes can be seen from the answers they take. The results of the analysis of all students were able to meet the Open-Ended Problem indicator, although one of the students had a slight deficiency in solving the problem, he did not show his full knowledge, it was seen from the way the explanation of the answer was still not clear. So, presenting open problems is very effective in online learning, students find it difficult to solve problems that have various solutions.

Abstract

TThe ability to solve problems is one of the abilities that students lack mastery of. This results in many difficulties faced when learning mathematics. This problem is not absolutely the student's fault. But the teacher as a facilitator also plays a very important role, one of which is the use of appropriate and efficient learning models to help improve these abilities, namely alternative choices with LAPS-Heuristics. This study aims to determine the effect of LAPS-Heuristic on the mathematical problem solving ability of SMPN 3 Kasokandel students. This study uses a mixed approach (mixed method) with data collection through test questions in the form of posttest, student response questionnaires, and documentation. The population used is two classes, namely the control and experimental classes, each of which is 24 students. The findings in this study are the LAPS-Heuristic learning model has an influence on the ability to solve mathematical problems of students by obtaining The level of problem-solving ability of the experimental class is greater than that of the control class, it can be seen from the average per indicator including indicators of knowing and understanding the problem of 90 and 71, indicators of planning problems of 80.25 and 60.5, indicators of implementing plans 87.75 and 67.25 and the indicator rechecked the results of 55.5 and 44. While the results of student responses are mostly positive with the acquisition of 90% and negative by 24%.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an effective didactic design to address students' learning obstacles in the concept of value ratios. A qualitative research method was employed, specifically utilizing Didactical Design Research. Data were collected through tests, interviews, observations, and documentation from 8th-grade students at MTs PUI Kancana who had studied the subject matter. The didactic design was based on the analysis of learning obstacles and trajectories, metapedadidactics, and retrospectives. Following the implementation of the instructional design in 7th-grade class A at MTs PUI Kancana, which had not received prior instruction on value comparison, a decrease in students' learning obstacles was observed. Although not all learning obstacles were eliminated, the didactic design effectively reduced the barriers encountered by the students. This research holds significant implications for instructional development. By employing the didactic design for value ratios, it provides an alternative approach to enhance students' understanding and mastery of value comparison concepts. Consequently, this study offers an accurate and comprehensive overview of the didactic design approach to address learning obstacles in the context of value comparison. The findings highlight the importance of employing effective didactic designs to improve learning outcomes in the domain of value ratios.Â
