Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of using the model discovery learning model to increase student’s fluency thinking skills on acid-base subject matter. The population of this research was all students in XI science class of SMAN 1 Pagelaran whose sit in whole semester of academic year 2013-2014. The sample were taken by purposive sampling technique then obtained XI IPA2 and XI IPA3 class as sample of the research. The method of the research was quasi experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain student’s fluency thinking skills between experimental and control class. The result of research showed that on average n-Gain student’s fluency thinking skills on control class was 0,33 and experimental class was 0,60. Based on proving the hypothesis (t-test), it was concluded that the discovery learning model was effective to increase student’s fluency thinking skills on acidbase subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penggunaan model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir lancar siswa pada materi asam-basa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pagelaran semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2 sebagai sampel penlitian. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-Gain keterampilan berpikir lancar siswa yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan berpikir lancar pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,33 dan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,60. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis (uji-t), disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir lancar siswa pada materi asam-basa.Kata kunci: asam-basa, keterampilan berpikir lancar, model discovery learning.
