Abstract

Kebutuhan bahan baku batu andesit semakin meningkat seiring dengan perkembangan dan percepatan infrastruktur di Indonesia. Batu andesit dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku dalam pembuatan trotoar jalan, pondasi bangunan atau dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan campuran beton. Dalam kegiatan penambangan batu andesit, diperlukan analisis untuk ketepatan penggunaan metode penambangan agar tercipta usaha pertambangan yang berdaya guna, menunjang efektivitas dan efesiensi pekerjaan serta biaya operasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelas massa batuan, tingkat kemampugalian batuan dan rekomendasi bentuk lereng untuk kegiatan penambangan agar dapat berjalan dengan efektif dan efisien. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah klasifikasi geomekanik dengan sistem rock mass rating (RMR), slope mass rating (SMR) dan analisis kemampugalian batuan. Berdasarkan klasifikasi geomekanik tersebut, diketahui kelas massa batuan memiliki kategori good rock dengan nilai RMR 69 – 79 dan SMR 53° - 65°. Metode penggalian yang disarankan berupa ripping-blasting.

Abstract

West Block 'X' pit is one of the coal mining locations operated by the Lati Mine Operation – PT Berau Coal. Administratively, the Lati Mine is located as part of Berau Regency – East Kalimantan. The study area is located at the north side of the concession, in a syncline fold structure zone. The disposal design in this area needs to special attention from slope stability aspect due it is located on the wing of a mega syncline with a certain slope and constituent of unconsolidated materials. The pit design needs to be stable. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of stability of the in-pit dump by analyzing the current in-pit dump stability based on the value of the safety factor (FS) and the probability of failure (PoF). The method used in this study is a probabilistic analysis of slope stability based on the Morgenstern-Price method to obtain the value of the safety factor and the probability of failure. The study results show that the slope is in the safe category (stable slope) in the range of PoF values 0 – 1%, marginal slope 1 – 12%, and unstable slope above 12%. Based on such as results, it is necessary to modify the slope geometry categorized as unstable to carry out mine operation safely underneath the toe of slope.

Abstract

Quantitative geomorphological can be analyzed using watersheds morphometric aspect. Morphometry can be interpreted as a quantitative aspect of watersheds or parameters of watershed characteristics that can be measured and calculated. This research was shown to determine the tectonic control of the research area with the approach of the morphometric aspect of watershed. Aspect of watershed morphometry used in this research consist of river order and bifurcation ratio (Rb), drainage density (Dd), asymmetry factor (Af), mountain front sinuosity (Smf) and watershed shape index (Bs). The method used in this research is the studio method by processing Digital Elevation Model data using Arcmap software. Based on the results obtained, there are 4 sub-watersheds in the research area that have different calculation values. Sub-Watershed 1 has an Af value is (66,025), Smf value is (1.43 – 4.56), and Bs value is (1,002). Sub-Watershed 2 has an Af value is (51,398), Smf value is (1.38 – 3), and Bs value is (0.907). Sub-Watershed 3 has an Af value is (49,536), Smf value is (1.17 – 2.91), and Bs value is (0.933). Sub-Watershed 4 has an Af value is (60,407), Smf value is (1.8 – 3), and Bs value is (1,486). Based on all the calculation results, the relative tectonic activity index (IATR) value is 3 which belongs to class 4 which indicates low tectonic activity in the research area. This is also supported by the calculation of the bifurcation ratio where only a small part of the river segment is affected tectonics, meaning most of the others are not active tectonically.

Abstract

PT. Bukit Asam Tbk is an open-pit coal mining company in Muara Enim, Soutgh Sumatra. In open-pit mining activities, slope stability analysis is carried out to evaluate the mine in order to create a safe mining process. Several types of slope failure are associated with geological structures. This research was conducted to identify the type of landslides in the low wall area of Pit X PT. Bukit Asam Tbk and determine the slope stability factor based on discontinuity data using the scanline method at 8 observation points that represent the lithology of the low wall area. Methods used in this research is kinematic analysis, slope stability analysis on plane slide types and wedge. Based on the kinematic analysis, it was identified that the Pit X low wall area has the potential for plane and wedge type landslides with a relatively stable slopes.
